Thank you for purchasing the Hard Disk Installation Kit for the Korg Pa60 Professional Arranger!
This kit allows you to install a standard 2.5” ATA hard disk drive in your Pa60. The hard disk
drive is not supplied with the kit, so you should purchase it separately. For a list of compatible
drives, please refer to the “Hard Disk compatibility list” section at the end of this leaflet. An
always up-to-date list can also be downloaded from www.korgpa.com. Warning: The hard disk
must be installed by a Korg Authorized Service Center. Korg is not responsible for any damage
or injury caused by incorrect installation of this kit by unauthorized personnel.

Before beginning with the installation, be sure to have all the
parts enlisted in the following table. You also need a crosspoint screwdriver (not supplied).
Avant de procéder à l'installation, vérifier de posséder tous les
éléments listés ci-dessous. Pour le montage, il faut disposer d'un
tournevis à lame cruciforme.
Versichern Sie sich vor Beginn der Installation, dass alle
nachfolgend aufgeführten Teile vorhanden sind. Für die
Montage ist ein Kreuzschlitzschraubenzieher erforderlich.

Access the inside of the instrument, by following the opening
and disassembling instruction found in the “Pa60 Service Manual” (code MAN0002008). Connect the L22 44 MSP2.0 flat
cable (A) to the corresponding connector on the motherboard,
as shown in the diagram.
Accéder à l'intérieur de l'instrument en effectuant les opérations
d'assemblage illustrées dans “Pa60 Service Manual” (code
MAN0002008). Brancher la nappe L22 44 MSP2.0 (A) à son connecteur sur la carte mère, comme indiqué dans la figure.
Öffnen Sie das Instrument. Befolgen Sie hierzu die Demontageanweisungen in der “Pa60 Bedienungsanleitung” (Code:
MAN0002008). Schließen Sie das Flachkabel L22 44 MSP2.0
(A) an den entsprechenden Verbinder des Motherboard an, wie
in der nebenstehenden Abbildung gezeigt wird.

disassemblaggio illustrate nel “Pa60 Service Manual” (codice
MAN0002008). Collegate la piattina L22 44 MSP2.0 (A) al relativo connettore della scheda madre, come mostrato nell’immagine
a lato.

Fix the right (D) and left (E) supports to the hard disk drive (C)
by using the four M3x6 screws (F). Orient the side of the hard
disk drive containing the connector as shown in the diagram.
Locate Pin 1 (usually marked with a “1” or an arrow) on the
hard disk drive connector. If there is no marking, please refer to
the diagram on the side, where the Pin 1 position is clearly
indicated.
Fixer les supports droit (D) et gauche (E) au disque dur (C) à
l'aide des quatre vis M3x6 (F). Positionner le côté du disque dur
où se trouve le connecteur tel qu'illustré dans la figure. Identifier,
sur le connecteur du disque dur, la position de la broche n˚1 ;
généralement, elle est identifiée dans la plupart des dispositifs par
le numéro “1” ou par une flèche. Si le connecteur ne présente
aucune indication, se référer à l'illustration ci à côté qui indique
clairement la position de la broche dans le connecteur.
Befestigen Sie die rechte Halterung (D) und die linke Halterung
(E) am Festplattenlaufwerk (C) mit den vier Schrauben M3x6
(F). Drehen Sie die Festplatte so, dass der Verbinder sich auf
derselben Seite befindet, wie in der Zeichnung gezeigt wird.
Suchen Sie auf dem Verbinder des Festplattenlaufwerks Pin
Nr.1 auf (ist meist mit der Zahl “1” oder einem Pfeil gekennzeichnet). Wenn der Verbinder keine Kennzeichnung besitzt,
nehmen Sie die nebenstehende Zeichnung zu Hilfe, in der die
Position des Verbinderpins deutlich markiert ist.
Fissate il supporto destro (D) ed il sinistro (E) all’hard disk drive
(C) tramite le quattro viti M3x6 (F), rivolgendo il lato dell’hard
disk drive su cui si trova il connettore nel verso indicato dal disegno. Individuate, nel connettore dell’hard disk drive, il piedino
n°1, tenendo conto che nella maggioranza dei dispositivi esso
viene contrassegnato con il numero “1” o con una freccia. Se il
connettore non reca alcun contrassegno, fate riferimento all’illustrazione a fianco, in cui è mostrata chiaramente la posizione del
piedino nel connettore.

Connect the free connector of the L22 44 MSP2.0 flat cable (B)
to the hard disk drive (C), matching Pin 1 on the cable (marked
with a different color on the cable, usually red or black) with
the corresponding pin on the hard disk drive. Place the assembled hard disk drive over the apposite spacers, carefully folding
the L22 44 MSP2.0 flat cable (A) – to be fixed with the cable
holder band (B) – between the HDD group and the Pa60’s
cover. At this point, screw the hard disk drive supports to the
corresponding holes, using the four 3x8 screws (G). Finish the
installation by closing the instrument, by following the instructions found in the “Pa60 Service Manual” (code MAN0002008)
in the reverse order to the instructions for opening and disassembling.
Brancher le terminal libre de la nappe L22 44 MSP2.0 (B) au disque dur (C), de manière que la broche n˚1 du câble (indiquée par
une couleur différente du conducteur, généralement rouge ou
noir) corresponde à la relative broche du disque dur. Disposer le
disque dur ainsi assemblé sur les colonnes correspondantes en faisant attention à ne pas plier la nappe L22 44 MSP2.0 (A) – en la
bloquant à l'aide du serre-câble fourni (B) – directement entre le
groupe HDD et le capot du Pa60. Maintenant, visser les supports du groupe HDD dans les trous prévus à l'aide des quatre vis 3x8 (G) ; terminer
l'installation en refermant l'instrument en procédant à effectuer les mêmes instructions indiquées dans “Pa60 Service Manual” (code
MAN0002008) au contraire.
Schließen Sie das freie Ende des Flachkabels L22 44 MSP2.0 (B) an das Festplattenlaufwerk (C) an. Dabei muss Pin Nr.1 des Kabels (ist mit
einer anderen Leiterfarbe, normalerweise rot oder schwarz, gekennzeichnet) mit dem entsprechenden Pin des Festplattenlaufwerks in
Übereinstimmung gebracht werden. Legen Sie das so ausgerüstete Festplattenlaufwerk auf die hierfür vorgesehenen Stützen. Falten Sie das
Flachkabel L22 44 MSP2.0 (A) sorgfältig zwischen der Festplattengruppe und dem Deckel des Pa60 zusammen und befestigen Sie es mit
dem Kabelhalteband (B). Schrauben Sie die Halterungen der Festplattengrupppe mit den vier Schrauben 3x8 (G) in die entsprechenden
Löcher. Beenden Sie die Installation, indem Sie das Instrument wieder schließen. Führen Sie hierzu die in der Bedienungsanleitung “Pa60
Service Manual” (Code MAN0002008) beschriebenen Arbeitsschritte bezüglich des Öffnens und der Demontage in umgekehrter Reihenfolge aus.
Collegate il terminale libero della piattina L22 44 MSP2.0 (B) all’hard disk drive (C), facendo combaciare il piedino n°1 del cavo (contrassegnato da una diversa colorazione del conduttore, in genere, rosso o nero), al corrispondente piedino dell’hard disk drive. Collocate l’hard disk
drive così assemblato sopra le relative colonnine, prestando particolare attenzione a ripiegare la piattina L22 44 MSP2.0 (A) – bloccandola con
la fascetta fermacavo (B) – direttamente tra il gruppo HDD ed il coperchio del Pa60. A questo punto, avvitate i supporti del gruppo HDD nei
relativi fori tramite le quattro viti 3x8 (G), e concludete l’installazione richiudendo lo strumento seguendo al contrario le istruzioni riportate nel
“Pa60 Service Manual” (codice MAN0002008).

When the installation is finished, please connect the power cord, and turn the instrument on
again. You must now format the hard disk, before accessing it for data storage.
1. Press DISK to access the Disk edit environment.
2. Select the “Format” page.
3. Move the Hard disk option to the first line of the display.
4. Press F2 (Format) to confirm formatting.
5. The “Delete all data?” message appears; press ENTER to confirm, or EXIT to cancel.
6. The “Please press F4 to continue” message appears; press F4 to confirm, or EXIT to cancel.
Lorsque l'installation est terminée, il faut de nouveau brancher le câble d'alimentation et mettre
l'instrument sous tension. Il faut formater le disque dur avant de pouvoir l'utiliser.
1. Appuyer sur DISK pour afficher l'environnement Disk.
2. Sélectionner la page “Format”.
3. Déplacer l'option Hard disk sur la première ligne de l'écran.

Nach Beendigung der Installation Versorgungskabel erneut in die Steckdose einstecken und das Instrument einschalten. Die Festplatte muss vor
Gebrauch formatiert werden.
1. Drücken Sie DISK, um die Disk-Umgebung aufzurufen.
2. Selektieren Sie die “Format”-Seite.
3. Bringen Sie die Festplatten-Option in die ersten Displayzeile.
4. Drücken Sie F2 (Format), um den Formatiervorgang zu bestätigen.
5. Daraufhin erscheint die Meldung “Delete all data?”. Drücken Sie ENTER zur Bestätigung oder EXIT, um den Vorgang abzubrechen.
6. Bei Erscheinen der Meldung “Please press F4 to continue” drücken Sie F4 zur Bestätigung oder EXIT, um den Vorgang abzubrechen.
Al termine dell’installazione, occorre ricollegare il cavo di alimentazione e accendere lo strumento. L’hard disk va formattato prima dell’uso.
1. Premete DISK per accedere all’ambiente Disk.
2. Selezionate la pagina “Format”.
3. Portate l’opzione Hard disk nella prima riga del display.
4. Premete F2 (Format) per confermare la formattazione.
5. Appare il messaggio “Delete all data?”; premete ENTER per confermare, o EXIT per annullare.

The following table lists a series of hard disk models tested by Korg, and certified as compatible with Pa60. Most models not included in this
table, while not tested by Korg, may be compatible. An up-to-date list of compatible drives is available on www.korgpa.com.
