RULES OF THE COMPETITION
ITALIANO
Art. 1
La Comunità Montana della Lessinia e il Parco Naturale Regionale
della Lessinia, in collaborazione dell’Associazione Film Festival della
Lessinia, del Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense e del Consorzio Verona Tuttintorno, con il sostegno del Comune di Bosco Chiesanuova,
della Provincia di Verona e della Regione Veneto, con il contributo
della Cassa Rurale Bassa Vallagarina, organizzano la diciassettesima
edizione del Film Festival della Lessinia, concorso a premi che si
svolgerà a:
BOSCO CHIESANUOVA (VERONA - ITALIA)
dal 20 al 28 AGOSTO 2011
Art. 2
Il tema del Film Festival della Lessinia è: vita, storia e tradizioni in
montagna.
Art. 3
Possono essere ammessi al concorso film e video (lungometraggi,
cortometraggi, documentari, film di animazione) che rappresentino,
valorizzino e favoriscano la conoscenza delle realtà sociali, linguistiche, umane, economiche, ambientali, naturalistiche, storiche e artistiche della montagna, nonché delle tradizioni delle usanze e delle
consuetudini dei popoli che abitano in montagna.
Art. 4
Sono escluse dal concorso le opere aventi come soggetto lo sport
e l’alpinismo.
Art. 5
Possono essere iscritti al concorso:
•film in formato 35 mm;
•video in formato HD, Digital Betacam e Betacam SP
(solo standard PAL);
•video in formato DVC Pro, DV-Cam e Mini DV
(standard PAL o NTSC).
Ogni DVD potrà contenere una sola opera e saranno accettate solo
copie tecnicamente perfette.
Art. 6
Ogni autore dovrà spedire obbligatoriamente una copia in formato
DVD per la selezione delle opere da ammettere al concorso. La
copia in formato originale dovrà essere spedita al Festival dopo la
comunicazione dell’ammissione delle opere al concorso. Le copie in
formato DVD spedite per la selezione al Film Festival della Lessinia
non saranno restituite.
Art. 7
Non sono ammesse al concorso opere prodotte prima dell’anno 2009
o presentate in precedenti edizioni del Film Festival della Lessinia.
Art. 8
Le opere dovranno essere preferibilmente munite di sottotitoli in lingua inglese e dovranno essere accompagnate da una copia del testo
in una delle seguenti lingue: inglese, tedesco, francese o spagnolo.
Art. 9
Le opere dovranno essere accompagnate da:
•scheda d’iscrizione, accuratamente compilata e firmata
dal regista o dal produttore;
•sinossi;
•biografia e filmografia del regista;
•tre fotografie del film;
•una fotografia del regista.

Le opere e la relativa scheda di iscrizione dovranno essere spedite
all’indirizzo:

Il materiale informativo e le fotografie potranno essere spedite via
a-mail all’indirizzo: [email protected]. Le spese di spedizione delle opere al Film Festival della Lessinia sono a carico dei partecipanti. L’organizzazione declina ogni responsabilità per eventuali
danni, smarrimenti e furti durante le fasi di trasporto e, comunque,
prima e dopo l’arrivo delle opere alla segreteria del Film Festival della Lessinia.
Art. 11
L’ammissione al concorso sarà deliberata insindacabilmente da una
commissione di selezione che terrà conto del valore contenutistico
e artistico delle opere e del numero massimo di ore di proiezione
nel programma del Film Festival della Lessinia. Saranno escluse dal
concorso le opere prive di sufficienti qualità tecniche, quelle a carattere prevalentemente pubblicitario o promozionale e quelle non
corrispondenti al tema “vita, storia e tradizioni in montagna”. Il Film
Festival della Lessinia si riserva la possibilità di accettare fuori concorso opere il cui contenuto sia inerente al tema del Festival, indipendentemente dall’anno di produzione.
Art. 12
Gli autori e/o le produzioni dei film selezionati si impegnano ad inviare:
•la lista dialoghi in post-produzione nella lingua originale
o nella lingua dei sottotitoli, preferibilmente in lingua
inglese;
•una copia nel formato originale di proiezione
possibilmente con sottotitoli in lingua inglese;
•un DVD perfettamente fedele alla versione del formato
originale inviato per la proiezione;
•un DVD con il trailer del film o con gli estratti del film
(3’ max) per uso promozionale;
•se presenti, poster, press kit, breve commento del
regista sul film e qualsiasi altro materiale informativo.
Le spese di spedizione delle copie originali e del materiale informativo dei film selezionati sono a carico dei partecipanti. Le spese
di spedizione per la restituzione delle opere sono a carico del Film
Festival della Lessinia.
Art. 13
Le opere in concorso e fuori concorso saranno proiettate a Bosco
Chiesanuova dal 20 al 28 agosto 2011 secondo un calendario che verrà stabilito e reso noto dopo la selezione. Gli autori saranno avvertiti
per consentire loro di essere presenti alle proiezioni. La proclamazione
dei vincitori avverrà a Bosco Chiesanuova, sabato 27 agosto 2011.
Art. 14
Alle opere in concorso una giuria internazionale, i cui componenti
saranno resi noti all’inizio del Film Festival, assegnerà, a proprio insindacabile giudizio, i seguenti premi ufficiali:
•“Gran Premio Lessinia” della Comunità Montana della
Lessinia - Lessinia d’Oro - € 3.000. Alla migliore opera
in assoluto per contenuto e valore artistico.
•Premio del Comune di Bosco Chiesanuova - Lessinia
d’Argento - € 1.500. Alla migliore opera che meglio documenti
e valorizzi la vita dell’Uomo in montagna.
•Premio per il miglior film di animazione - € 1.000.
•Premio del Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense - € 1.000.
Alla migliore opera che documenti e valorizzi la lingua e la cultura delle minoranze etnico linguistiche presenti in Montagna.
•Premio della Regione Veneto - € 1.000. Alla migliore
opera riguardante l’identità culturale di montagna.
•Premio della Provincia di Verona - € 1.000. Alla migliore
opera riguardante la “storia in montagna”.
•Premio Lessinia - € 500. Alla migliore opera riguardante
i Monti Lessini Veronesi.
•Premio del Parco della Lessinia - € 500.
Al miglior documentario naturalistico.
La Giuria potrà assegnare a proprio giudizio un Premio della Giuria e
una o più menzioni speciali. La Giuria potrà astenersi dall’assegnare
uno o più d’uno dei premi sopra elencati. I premi sono assegnati al
principale autore dell’opera e non sono cumulabili.
Verranno assegnati inoltre i seguenti premi speciali:
•Premio Speciale alla memoria di Mario Pigozzi
e Piero Piazzola. Alla migliore opera di un regista giovane.
•Premio Speciale della Cassa Rurale Bassa Vallagarina.
Alla miglior opera riguardante le montagne delle Tre Venezie.
•Premio Speciale della giuria giovani.
•Premio del publico.
•Premio dei bambini.
Art. 15
Tutti i concorrenti le cui opere siano state ammesse al Film Festival della
Lessinia, in concorso o fuori concorso, sono tenuti a lasciare una copia
DVD dell’opera presso l’archivio del Film Festival della Lessinia. Sarà
gradita anche la donazione di una copia in formato originale. Le copie
potranno essere utilizzate per la promozione del Film Festival della Lessinia con proiezioni pubbliche, in Italia e all’estero, e saranno utilizzate
inoltre a fini di studio, di conservazione e di diffusione della conoscenza
del cinema, sempre e comunque senza alcuno scopo di lucro.
Art. 16
I registi e/o la produzione autorizzano il Film Festival della Lessinia a
mettere in onda sulle reti televisive locali, nazionali e internazionali e
on line, brevi estratti delle opere in concorso o fuori concorso, della
durata massima di 3 minuti per ciascuna opera, esclusivamente per
la promozione del Film Festival.
Art. 17
L’autore e/o la produzione autorizzano la pubblicazione dei loro
dati sul sito www.filmfestivallessinia.it e sul catalogo del Film Festival
della Lessinia e la loro eventuale diffusione agli organi di stampa a
fini promozionali, nonché l’iscrizione alla mailing list del Film Festival
della Lessinia secondo la normativa di legge. (Informativa: ai sensi
e per gli effetti del DGL 196/2003 sul trattamento dei dati personali
si informa che i dati inseriti saranno trattati nel pieno rispetto della
Legge e non verranno diffusi né comunicati a terzi. La comunicazione
del suo indirizzo e-mail esprime il consenso al trattamento dei dati
da parte di esterni al solo fine di ricevere informazioni relative al Film
Festival della Lessinia e alle sue iniziative.)
Art. 18
L’iscrizione dei video al concorso è gratuita e implica la totale accettazione delle norme contenute nel presente regolamento.

Art. 1
The Comunità Montana della Lessinia and the Lessinia Regional Natural Park, with the collaboration of the Film Festival della Lessina
Association, the Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense, the Consorzio
Verona Tuttintorno, with the support of the Municipality of Bosco
Chiesanuova, the Province of Verona and the Veneto Region, and
with the contribution of the Cassa Rurale Bassa Vallagarina, organize
the seventeenth edition of the Film Festival della Lessinia, a competition with awards, to be held in:
BOSCO CHIESANUOVA (VERONA - ITALY)
AUGUST 20-28, 2011
Art. 2
The theme of the Film Festival della Lessinia is: mountain life, history
and traditions.
Art. 3
Films and videos (features, shorts, documentaries, animated films)
that depict, valorize, and encourage an understanding of the social,
linguistic, human, economic, environmental, naturalistic, historic, and
artistic realities of the mountains, as well as the traditions, customs,
and habits of the people who live there are eligible for admission.
Art. 4
Works with sports or mountaineering as their main subject are
excluded from competition.
Art. 5
Works in the following formats are admissible for competition:
•films in 35 mm;
• videos in HD, Digital Betacam and Betacam SP
(only standard PAL);
•videos in DVC Pro, DV-Cam and Mini DV
(standard PAL or NTSC).
Each DVD may contain one work only. Copies must be technically
perfect in order to be accepted.
Art. 6
Each entrant must send a DVD copy of his/her work for consideration by the selection committee. A copy of the film/video in its
original format must be sent to the Festival immediately upon notice that it has been admitted for competition. DVDs submitted to
the Film Festival della Lessinia for selection consideration will not
be returned.
Art. 7
Works produced before 2009 or presented in previous editions of the
Film Festival della Lessinia will not be considered for competition.
Art. 8
It is preferable that works submitted for competition include
subtitles in English; in any case, however, they must be accompanied
by a copy of the text in one of the following languages: English,
German, French, or Spanish.
Art. 9
The works must be accompanied by:
•a fully completed registration form, signed by the
director or producer;
•a synopsis;
•a biography and filmography of the director;
•three photographs from the film;
•a photograph of the director.

The works and registration form should be sent to the following address:

The written materials and photographs may be sent via e-mail to the
following address: [email protected]. The cost of mailing
works to the Film Festival della Lessinia is born by the participants.
The Festival organization declines any responsibility for damages,
loss, or theft during transportation or after the arrival of the works in
the Festival’s office.
Art. 11
Admission to the Festival competition will be based upon the decision of a selection committee that will consider each film’s content
and artistic merit, as well as the total screening time of the Festival.
The selection committee’s decisions are final. Works of inadequate
technical quality, works of a primarily promotional nature, and those
not concerned with the theme “mountain life, history, and traditions”
will be excluded. The Festival reserves the right to accept non-competing films with content relevant to the Festival theme, independent of their year of production.
Art. 12
The directors and/or producers of the films selected must send the
following to the Festival office:
•the post-production dialogue list in the original
language or in that of the subtitles, preferably English;
•a copy of the original format for screening, if possible
with English subtitles;
•a DVD that is an exact copy of the original format version
sent for screening;
•a DVD with the trailer of the film or excerpts from the film
(max. 3”) for promotional use;
•if available, poster, press kit, brief comment from
the director, and any other informational material.
Participants are responsible for all expenses relative to the transport to
the Festival office of the original-format copies and informational materials. The Film Festival della Lessinia will pay the return transport costs.
Art. 13
Both competing and non-competing films will be screened in Bosco
Chiesanuova from August 20 - 28, 2011, according to a calendar that
will be established and made public after the selection process. The
directors and producers will be informed promptly in order to facilitate their presence during their respective screenings. The competition winners will be announced in Bosco Chiesanuova on Saturday,
August 27, 2011.
Art. 14
The following official prizes will be awarded by the members of an
international jury whose names will be announced at the beginning
of the Festival, and whose decisions will be final:
•“Gran Prix Lessinia” of the Comunità Montana della Lessinia Lessinia d’Oro - € 3.000. To the best work overall, in terms of
content and artistic merit.
•Prize from the Comune di Bosco Chiesanuova - Lessinia
d’Argento - € 1.500. To the best work that documents and
valorizes man’s life in the mountains.
•Prize for the best animated film - € 1.000.
•Prize from the Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense - € 1.000. For
the best work that documents and valorizes the language and
culture of ethnic linguistic minorities present in the mountains.
•Prize from the Veneto Region - € 1.000. For the best work
regarding cultural identity in the mountains.
•Prize from the Province of Verona - € 1.000. For the best work
regarding “history in the mountains”.
•Lessinia Prize - € 500. For the best work regarding the Veronese
Lessinia Mountains.
•Prize from the Lessinia Regional Natural Park - € 500. For the
best naturalistic documentary.
The Jury may, at its sole discretion, assign a Jury Prize and one or
more “special mentions”. The Jury may refrain from awarding one or
more of the prizes listed above. The prizes are awarded to the principal author/director/producer of the work each work may be awarded
only one official prize.
In addition, the following special prizes will be awarded:
•Special Prize in memory of Mario Pigozzi and Piero Piazzola.
For the best work by a young director.
•Special Prize from the Cassa Rurale Bassa Vallagarina. For the best work about the mountains of the Tri-Veneto.
•Special Prize from the Young Jury.
•Prize from the Public.
•Prize from the Children’s Jury.
Art. 15
All of the contestants whose works are chosen for the Film Festival
della Lessinia, whether in or out of competition, must deposit a DVD
copy of their work with the Film Festival della Lessinia archive. We
also welcome copies of the films/videos in their original format. The
copies may be used to promote the Film Festival della Lessinia, with
public viewings both within and outside Italy, and will also be used for
study purposes and for the preservation and diffusion of knowledge
about cinema, always and in every instance without material profit.
Art. 16
The directors and/or production companies authorize the Film Festival della Lessinia to broadcast on local, national, or international
television stations and on line, brief excerpts of their works (for a maximum of three minutes per work), whether in or out of competition,
exclusively for the purpose of promoting the Film Festival.
Art. 17
The directors and/or production companies authorize the publication of their biographical and contact information on the site,
www.filmfestivallessinia.it, and in the catalogue of the Film Festival
della Lessinia; the distribution of this information to press organizations for promotional purposes, and their addition to the mailing
list of the Film Festival della Lessinia in accordance with current legal regulations. (Informational notice: in accordance with the DGL
196/2003 on the handling of personal data, we inform you that the
data inserted will be handled in full accordance with the Law and
will not be given to third parties. The communication of your e-mail
address expresses your consent that these data be held with the sole
finality of receiving information relative to the Film Festival della Lessinia and it’s initiatives.)
Art. 18
Submissions of films and videos to the competition is free of charge
and implies the complete acceptance of the regulations contained
in these bylaws.
