The main aim of the project from Dogarilor Street is, in fact, one of the most important and problematic aspects of contemporary living
in Bucharest, and the city itself. It is looking for a pertinent response to the acute problem of densification of the central area, said the
city could allow growth but not indifferent to the environment, construction and impact on its face place, neighborhoods and their story.
The challenge is to look for ways to build at higher densities of existing and proposed solutions for this contemporary construction using
ventilated facades, large glass surfaces, solar heating systems, use of efficient systems of shading and multi-split system cooling use of
local materials with low toxicity.
The assembly consists of two 5-storey buildings connected by underground and patio. Overall volumetric intended to provide each
housing unit a terrace or garden and keep a larger surface planted, (673mp, 35% of land area). The volume is designed to cut on the
central street, offering outdoor spaces both apartments and common areas, while the ground floor is transparent to allow visual
connections from the garden plot planted within the street. In this way, most apartments have double orientation, glazed surfaces are
carefully studied to take advantage of natural light and reduce energy required for heating in winter or cooling in the winter.
The apartments are designed in such a way as to allow greater flexibility, making it possible to connect (horizontal or vertical) two or
more smaller units into a larger one. This resulted in a final total of 63 residential units in 50 different apartments, extremely diverse in
types and surfaces.
