Born in Madrid, Enrique Ferrer began his music studies locally at the Conservatory of Music of Madrid. Soon he received a scholarship to the U.S.,
where he specialized at “The Academy of Vocal Arts” in Philadelphia under
the mentorship of Bill Schuman and Christopher Macatsoris.
He has been awarded top prizes at various national and international singing competitions, such as the Logroño International Singing Competition,
the Jaume Aragall International Singing Competition in Barcelona, the Ernesto Lecuona International Competition in Havana and the Luciano Pavarotti International Competition in Philadelphia (U.S.).
From an early age, he became a regular at major Spanish theatres and auditoriums where he developed a notable repertoire in zarzuela as well as
opera.

On the international stage he has performed Spinto repertoire at the Roma
Opera, the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa, the Rossini Theatre in Pesaro,
the Fenice in Venice, the Montecarlo Opera, operas in Ankara, Izmir and
Istanbul in Turkey, the Chatelet Theatre in Paris, operas in Montpellier,
Strasbourg, Lyon, Rouen, Versailles and Massy in France, the Cologne Opera in Germany, the Music Theatre in St. Petersburg, the Kennedy Center in
Washington D.C. and the Argentino de la Plata Theatre, among many others.

He has worked with outstanding theatre directors such as Jean Louis Grinda, José Carlos Plaza, Robert Carsen, Calixto Bieito, Louis Désiré, Claire
Ser-vais, Lluís Pasqual, Olivier Py, Gianfranco de Bosio, Paul-Emile
Fourny, Beppe de Tomasi and Emilio Sagi.
He has collaborated with music directors, including Tulio Gagliardo, Fabrizio Maria Carminati, Maurizio Benini, Marco Armiliato, Gianluigi Gelmet-ti, Kazushi Ono, Valerio Galli, Daniel Oren, Oliver Díaz, Stefano
Ranzani, Luciano Acocella, Will Humburg, Antonello Allemandi, Julian
Kovatchev, Antoni Ros Marbà, Antonino Fogliani and Cristóbal Soler.

He has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, at the Tchaikovsky Concert
Hall with the “Moscow Virtuosi” orchestra, the National Auditorium of Music
in Madrid, the Auditorium of Music in Valencia and the Madrid Monumental
Theatre with RTVE’s choir and orchestra.
He has participated in prestigious opera festivals such as the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, the Giacomo Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, the Aspendos International Opera Festival and the International Festival of Music
and Dance in Granada.
Recently, he performed Carmen, a production of the Covent Garden in London and the Guangzhou Opera in China, under the direction of maestro Daniel Oren, which was well received by critics and audiences.
Among his current projects, some notable ones include La tragédie de Carmen at the Calderon Theater in Valladolid, Aida at the Villamarta Theatre in
Jerez and Tosca at the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genova.
