Considerable the work by Mario Mentaschi and Thomas Mathà. For the presentation of their collection they were given the Tilleard medal by the Royal Philatelic Society of London. Their work is entitled “Letter Mail from and to the Old Italian States 1850-1870”; it has been added to the series “History through documents” and was presented on the occasion of Milanofil on 8 March. It is the first volume to be published in Italy which discusses the postal routes and international rates for mail from and to the Old Italian States. It has been written in English so as to gain a wider audience at an international level. The press release http://www.vaccari.it/pdf/5005.file.PR_2101E_29_02_08.pdf In suite of the high demand and great success of “Letter Mail”, which has gained recognition at a public level and at major international exhibitions, we have decided to proceed with the publication of “Corrispondenze da e per gli Antichi Stati Italiani 1850-1870”, the Italian translation to accompany the original work. In the series “Recoveries” the monograph “Ducato di Parma e Governo Provisorio. Raccolta di studi” has been added. It is a series of studies which give an in depth look at the issues of Parma, starting from the first works by the master of philately, Emilio Diena, and continuing with those by Paolo Vaccari, which are published as articles in the “Vaccari Magazine”. The press release http://www.vaccari.it/pdf/4622.file.PR_2102E_27_11_07.pdf In the same series the monograph “I francobolli del Regno di Napoli e i due provvisori da mezzo tornese del 1860” is rightly considered Emilio Diena’s masterpiece. With a new graphic layout, it is a reprint of the 1992 edition featuring a preface by Enzo Diena, which sold out long ago. Three plates reproducing the varieties of the 1/2 tornese Savoy Cross stamps are included in the volume. The work in progress “Filatelica, la filatelia nel III millennio. Atti del secondo congresso nazionale” is a series of articles which cover the topics which were discussed during the meeting at the Rocca dei Bentivoglio in Bazzano (Bologna) on 14 and 15 June 2008. The collections exhibited on this occasion are also presented in this work. Twenty years of the “Magazine” www.vaccarimagazine.it At Veronafil, in November, the fortieth issue of “Vaccari Magazine”, the magazine of philatelic and postal history information, will be presented. Since the magazine is published on a six-monthly basis, twenty years have passed since the first issue, a turning point that will be celebrated during the convention. A free analytical index will be given to the magazine subscribers. Via M.
