BIOGRAFIA
Angelica Romeo nasce a Roma nel 1970 e trascorre gli anni della
crescita tra Perugia, Monza e la capitale. Sin da bambina respira
l’odore dell’olio di lino. Negli anni coltiva la sua attrazione per l’arte e
già dall’età del liceo frequenta una nota bottega di restauro in via
Margutta a Roma. Si iscrive in seguito alla scuola di restauro di
Colalucci e si diploma. I numerosi viaggi e le sue vicissitudini familiari
la spingono a desiderare non solo una rapida indipendenza, ma anche
una realizzazione personale tenendo fede alla sua natura creativa. A
soli 21 anni coglie al volo un’occasione e si affaccia al mondo del
lavoro come imprenditrice nell’ambito dell’arredamento, cui si dedica
con successo per quasi 10 anni. Tornerà a dedicarsi al suo primo amore
“la pittura “ solo dopo una pausa obbligata dall’arrivo del primo figlio.
Sono anni di grandi cambiamenti personali, di crescita, soddisfazioni
ma anche di esperienze dolorose; forse saranno queste ultime a darle
la spinta decisiva di volersi “ Astrarre” dalla vita quotidiana buttandosi
appunto anima e corpo nella pittura astratta. Esordisce con la sua
prima personale nel 2009 a Roma nella galleria Romberà con una
mostra dal titolo “Azioni, Contrazioni, Rivelazioni” curata da Gianluca
Marziani, in cui presenta un lavoro che evoca apparentemente il post
informale ma che interpreta con rispetto e rigore il colore dei maestri
del passato. Partecipa nel 2010 ad alcune mostre collettive tra cui,
“Stop all’abuso sulla donna “ al Museo delle Mura di Roma, e “Arte
senza frontiere “ per medici senza frontiere a Palazzo Colonna a Roma.

Nel 2011 la sua seconda personale dal titolo “ De Aqua” allestita nel
modernissimo spazio del circolo Acquaniene di Roma. Da qui un
continuo divenire di crescita, volta ad indagare temi delicati ed attuali
con sguardo attento ed una mano sempre protesa verso quella parte
di mondo che è meno fortunato di noi.
