Active in many fields of technology and communication, I actively experiment new forms and
connections among (digital) media. From videos to the internet, touching comics and e-books, the
latest years have been dedicated to the study and application of gamification theories in social
contexts using videogames as the main tool. An important result in this area is the cooperation with
Internet Festival, maybe the most important festival on culture and technology in Pisa, where I direct
“Play the Game!” the concept area dedicated to gaming. Notably during 2014 edition I had the
pleasure to organize the first Panel on Gamification in Italy.
BRIEF INTRODUCTION
A long experience in non-profit activism in the areas of free software, sports and health care made the
link deeper, working with schools (primary and secondary) and associations on many educational
projects in which I used gaming as THE learning tool.
Under the (non-registered) brand of STEAM FACTORY, together with cooperators, a high profile
experience has been the one with DLTM, the Liguria Cluster of Marine Technology: designing and
creating a quiz-game for elementary school children on the perception of Science and of the scientist,
related to gender specific issues. (H2020-2014-MSCA-NIGHT “European Researchers' Night”: “Party
don't Stop, Have fun with Researchers” - “La percezione della Scienza: contributi Extracurricolari per
incrementare l'interesse verso le materie scientifiche”)
From February 2015, STEAM FACTORY is the (non-registered) logo which appears, beyond all my
works with cooperators, on the visual communication products (videos, corporate ids, illustrations,
videogames) of my individual company.
At the moment I'm also working as lead game designer on two projects covered by NDA.
