Start from the parking area at the Roman Amphitheatre. Exit to
the right towards the centre of Gubbio.
Km 1
Turn right and follow indications for the “Vittorina”.
Km 1,4
At the church of the Vittorina, where it is believed that St. Francis
encountered the wolf, turn left, then right after 100 metres.
Km 1,9
Turn left, following the signposts for the “Sentiero Francescano
della Pace Perugia-Assisi” (Franciscan Peace route).

Straight ahead.

Straight ahead along the road to the right and continue to follow
signposts for the “Sentiero Francescano della Pace PerugiaAssisi” (Franciscan Peace route).

Leave the “Sentiero Francescano della Pace Perugia-Assisi”
signposts and turn right . After 50 metres, turn left onto the SS298
main road. Beware of the traffic.

Ponte D’Assi. Straight ahead.

Turn right towards San Cipriano at the crossroad.

Turn left, then immediately right, back onto the main road.

Turn left off the main road , then immediately right , following the
signposts for the “Sentiero Francescano della Pace PerugiaAssisi” (Franciscan Peace route). Start of difficult climb.

Start of very steep stretch. Dismount if too difficult.

End of steepest stretch. The climb continues along several steep
stretches with gradients of more than 10 %.This is one of the most
difficult parts of the whole leg.

Turn right and leave the “Sentiero Francescano della Pace
Perugia-Assisi”. End of climb.

Turn left onto the main road at the crossroad and continue
towards Perugia. Beware of the traffic.

Abbey of Vallingegno to the left. Straight ahead.

Turn left following indications for Biscina. End of climb.

Turn left at the crossroad towards Valfabbrica and Caprignone.

Castle of Biscina to the right. Leave the “Sentiero Francescano
della Pace Perugia-Assisi” to the right and go straight ahead.
Beware, very steep descent.

Keep left and return to the “Sentiero Francescano della Pace
Perugia-Assisi”.

Keep to the left along the sealing, away from the path to the right.
Km 31,2
Past the dam, at the bottom of the descent, continue straight
ahead, up a short, steep climb. Cyclists with trekking bikes who
would like to ride along dirt road can turn right and follow the
indications for the Via Francigena of St. Francis. The road ends in
the centre of Valfabbrica.

At the intersection with the main road, turn right towards
Valfabbrica.
