EMO 2015 MILAN: A GREAT SUCCESS
Ended on October 10 with over 155,000 visitors from 120 countries, EMO MILANO 2015 has been an event
of considerable success, especially if compared to the 2009 edition in full economic crisis.
Thanks to the excellent positioning of the stand, in Hall 4, between the two giants DMG Mori and FFG,
Duplomatic people, serving in 6 exhibition days, were pleasantly busy to meet customers and visitors with
rare breaks of relax.
The main target of this fair was the presentation to the market of the new DME turret, the latest addition
to the direct motor turret’s family. The graphics on a green background, with references to concepts of
energy saving and green application, has caught the attention and curiosity of visitors.

As per tradition, the EMO was an opportunity for Duplomatic to meet many OEM customers attending
among the exhibitors but also to get valuable feedback from all other operators (users, distributors,
financial) for the assessment of machine tool market performance.
Finally, we can say that, despite slowdowns in some emerging markets like China, Brazil, and Russia, the
mature economies are in an upward trend, making operators optimistic, primarily Italian ones.
The hope is to meet us at the EMO 2017 in Hannover having confirmed that the world economic crisis is
really forgotten.
2015: NOT BAD BUT SLOWER THAN THE FIRST FORECAST
Oxford Economics, as usual, has published the Fall 2015 edition of its Global Machine Tool Outlook.
We remind that the data here below are referred to a selection of Countries (Brazil, Canada, Mexico and US
for the Americas; PRC, South Korea, Japan, India, Taiwan and Thailand for Asia; Austria, Czech Republic,
France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and UK for Europe):
when OE speaks about the World, means this world.
2015 is arriving to its end: the final result for the Americas will be much stronger than expected (but rates
of exchange are have influenced the result); for Europe only the red ink will be needed, even with a strong
forecast for 2016; Asia shall post a good +7,2%, but at the moment they are expected to slow down a little
in 2016.
One word on Brazil and Russia: for different reasons these big Countries will conclude this year with results
close to -30% and -50%, and recovery at the moment is not expected, in both cases, before 2017.
The most positive Country seems to be India, with a final forecast for 2015 of +27,7%, and a +10,6% for
2016.
TECHNOLOGICAL CORNER: DME, THE FULLY ELECTRIC TURRET
The main actor of the EMO was DME (Direct Electric Motor fully), the first electromechanical turret in the
world powered directly by a single motor.
Starting from the proven technology of Direct Drive of our DM turrets, the new DME leaves the traditional
hydraulic clamping system for a new patent pending electro-magnetic mechanism.
Besides the easy installation in the machine by only electrical connection, performances are maximized
since the turret behavior is not affected by the execution of hydraulic or pneumatic circuits, normally
required in the machine. Furthermore, the operating cycle is fully set up by the parameters of the TMC
Control Unit supplied with the turret.
We can summarize the main benefits in:
• Cost effective
• “Green” application (no oil required)
• Energy saving
• No maintenance required
Very soon, the new catalog of the family DME will be available, with the technical specifications and
performance.

EMO 2015 MILAN: UN GRANDE SUCCESSO
Conclusasi il 10 ottobre con oltre 155.000 visitatori, provenienti da 120 paesi, EMO MILANO 2015 è stato
un evento di notevole successo, soprattutto se paragonato all’edizione 2009 in piena crisi economica.
Grazie all’ottimo posizionamento dello stand, nella Hall 4, tra i due giganti DMG Mori e FFG, gli addetti
Duplomatic in servizio nelle 6 giornate espositive sono stati piacevolmente occupati a incontrare clienti e
visitatori con rari momenti di pausa.
Obiettivo primario di questa Fiera era la presentazione al mercato della nuova torretta DME, l’ultima nata
della famiglia delle torrette a motore diretto. La grafica su sfondo verde, con richiami a concetti di
risparmio energetico e rispetto ambientale, ha catturato l’attenzione e la curiosità dei visitatori.

Come da tradizione, la EMO è stata l’occasione per Duplomatic di incontrare i molti clienti OEM presenti tra
gli espositori, ma anche per ottenere un feedback prezioso da tutti gli altri operatori del settore (utilizzatori,
distributori, società finanziarie) per la valutazione dell’andamento del mercato della Macchina Utensile.
Globalmente si può affermare che, pur evidenziandosi rallentamenti in alcuni mercati emergenti come
Cina, Brasile e Russia, le economie più mature sono in un trend di crescita, rendendo ottimisti gli operatori
di questi mercati, Italia in primis.
La speranza è di poter incontrarci alla prossima EMO 2017 in Hannover avendo confermate le indicazioni
appena raccolte che indicano molto vicina la fine della crisi economica mondiale.
2015: NON MALE MA PIÙ DEBOLE DELLE PRIME PREVISIONI
Oxford Economics, come al solito, ha pubblicato l’Edizione Autunnale 2015 Global Machine Tool Outlook.
Ricordiamo che i dati qui sotto esposti sono riferiti a una selezione di Paesi (Brasile, Canada, Messico e US
per le Americhe; Giappone, India, PRC, Sud Corea, Thailandia e Taiwan per l’Asia; Austria, Francia,
Germania, Italia, Polonia, Regno Unito, Repubblica Ceca e Repubblica Slovacca, Spagna, Svizzera e Turchia):
quando l’OE parla di Mondo, si riferisce a questo mondo.
Il 2015 sta per concludersi: il risultato finale delle Americhe sarà molto più alto di quanto atteso (ma
l’andamento del cambio lo ha influenzato); solo per l’Europa sarà ancora necessario utilizzare l’inchiostro
rosso, anche se con una robusta previsione per il 2016; l’Asia dovrebbe registrare un buon +7,2%, ma al
momento per loro si attende un 2016 un pò più debole.
Una parola su Brasile e Russia: per differenti ragioni questi grandi Paesi faranno registrare risultati vicini al
-30% a al -50%, e la ripresa, in entrambi i casi, non è attesa prima del 2017.
In forma migliore sembra invece essere l’India, con una previsione finale per il 2015 di +27,7% e ancora un

ANGOLO TECNOLOGICO: DME, LA TORRETTA COMPLETAMENTE ELETTRICA
La protagonista alla fiera EMO è stata la DME (Direct Motor fully Electric), la prima torretta
elettromeccanica al mondo azionata da un singolo motore diretto.
Partendo dall’ormai affermata tecnologia del Direct Drive delle nostre torrette DM, la nuova DME
abbandona il tradizionale sistema di bloccaggio idraulico per un nuovissimo meccanismo elettromagnetico la cui domanda di brevetto è già stata depositata.
Oltre alla facilità di installazione in macchina con i soli collegamenti elettrici, le prestazioni vengono
massimizzate in quanto il comportamento della torretta non è influenzato dall’esecuzione dei circuiti
idraulico o pneumatico normalmente richiesti in macchina. Inoltre il ciclo di funzionamento è
completamente definito dalla parametrizzazione della Unità di Controllo TMC fornita a corredo della
torretta.
I maggiori benefici si possono sintetizzare in:
• Minori costi di gestione
• Rispetto per l’ambiente (non richiesto l’olio idraulico)
• Risparmio energetico
• Nessuna manutenzione ordinaria richiesta
A breve sarà disponibile il nuovo catalogo della famiglia DME, con le specifiche tecniche e prestazionali.
