REGULATION
Art. 1 – Announcement
The contest will be held at the Circolo Casino Sociale 1845 in Via Emilia in Voghera (PV) on May 31st,
June 1st and 2nd, 2008.
Art. 2 – Participant
All Italian or foreign opera singers – without any limit of age – are admitted. Participants related to
Jury members are not admitted.
Art. 3 – Entries
The entry form, duly filled in, must be sent within May 20th, 2008 to the

The committee reserves the possibility to accept entries even after the here above stated deadline.
Please attach to the entry form the following documents:
• Copy of identity card;
• Short CV, reporting the name of the singing master, with the candidate is studying with;
• Receipt of payment of the postal order for the entrance fee (Art. 5);
• Copy of the score of the pieces (for those ones who require the accompanist pianist)
The Committee reserves the right to cancel the contest, owing to a cause beyond control. In that case,
entrance fees already paid will be refunded.
Art. 4 – Special prize Festival Ultrapadum – Citta di Voghera
The special prize Festival Ultrapadum – Città di Voghera consists of a diploma and a cash-prize of €
300. The Jury – at its unobjectionable judgement – will choose among the participants (with the
exclusion of the winners of the first three cash-prizes) three (3) candidates, who will contend for the
Ultrapadum prize. That prize will be awarded through a voting of the public (through a proper card)
during the Awarding Concert scheduled at the Circolo Casino Sociale 1845 on Sunday, June 2nd,
2008.
Art. 5 – Entrance fee
To take part to the contest it is necessary to pay for an entrance fee of € 62,50. Extra € 15, if piano
accompanist is required.
Payment must be effected through postal order held by “Associazione Porana Eventi” to be sent the
address stated in Art. 3. Other payment forms are not accepted.
Art. 6 – Examinations
The contest is made by two examinations: the first one is preliminary, with a duration of max. 5
minutes, the second one foresees two (2) tunes (max duration 10 minutes). Before the performance
the candidates shall have to show the Jury their personal document and a copy of the scores of the
pieces they intend playing.
Candidates who are first prize winners in national and international contests with a mark higher than
95/100 enter directly the second examination. In that case it is necessary to send in advance the
Secretariat copy of first prize diploma reporting the achieved mark (together with the required
documents and the entry form).
The jury has the authority to stop performances or require further examinations. All examinations are
public.

Art. 7 – Marks and classification
The Jury will express marks in “centesimi”. In case a proper level is not found, the Jury has the
authority not to deliver prizes. The judgement of the Jury is inappellable.
Art. 8 – Cash-prizes
1st prize
€ 1.500
2nd prize
€ 1.000
3rd prize
€ 500
Cash-prizes will be delivered to candidates who will gain the highest marks and however not below
90/100. Cash-prizes are not separable.
Art. 9 – Reward Diploma
Candidates obtaining a mark between 95/100 and 100/100 will be awarded a 1st prize Reward
Diploma.
Candidates obtaining a mark between 90/100 and 94/100 will be awarded a 2nd prize Reward
Diploma.
Candidates obtaining a mark between 85/100 and 89/100 will be awarded a 3rd prize Reward Diploma.
Art. 10 – Prizes awarding
Prizes awarding (cash and diploma) will take place during the Final Concert scheduled at Circolo
Casino Sociale 1815 in Voghera on June 2nd, 2008 at 9.00pm, with a program agreed with the Artistic
Director. Lack of participation for any reason to the Final Concert will imply the candidate the
exclusion from prizes awarding.
Art. 11 – Audio-video shootings
When entering the Contest, all the candidates authorize any radio and TV shot, both during the
examinations and the final contest, without asking for any money claim.
Art. 12 – Changes
The committee reserves the right of decision about any issue not listed in this Regulation.
Art. 13 – Calendar of the Performances
The performance calendar will be made known in due time. The candidates have to keep themselves
informed at the Secretariat as far as day and time of their performance are concerned.
Art. 14 – Acceptance of the regulation
The entry to the contest foresees the acceptance of all the points listed in this regulation. The Court of
Voghera is in charge for any dispute.
