Research stay at the University of Oslo (IFIKK – Department of
 August 2012-April 2013:
Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas), under the supervision of Prof. Anastasia
Maravela, thanks to the Yggdrasil grant awarded by the Research Council of Norway.
Project title: Studies in the technical terminology of Greek papyri of medical content: The
nomenclature and linguistic history of ancient drug containers.
(On the basis of a selection of technical terms for ancient vessels and containers of
medicaments mined from various sources I carried out a comparative study of the available
evidence which sheds light on the onomastics and the linguistic development of terms used in
the context of storage/packaging and labeling of drugs and remedies. The terms examined
have been published as entries in the online lexicon of ancient medical terminology Medicalia
Online).
