MARCO SABIU – Note biografiche
Marco Sabiu nasce nel 1963 a Forlì, dove tuttora vive. Diplomato in Pianoforte
al Conservatorio “G. Rossini” di Pesaro dove ha studiato anche Composizione,
Marco inizia prestissimo a lavorare nell’industria musicale come tastierista e
arrangiatore. Trasferitosi a Londra nel 1991, Marco crea una prolifica
collaborazione con Charlie Rapino come i “Rapino Brothers”. I Rapinos lavorano
con alcune delle maggiori popstars del mondo, fra cui: Kym Mazelle, Take
That, Kylie Minogue.
Nel 1998 Marco decide di lavorare da solo, e su progetti più impegnativi:
Tanita Tikaram , Perry Blake, Francoise Hardy, Filippa Giordano, Luciano
Pavarotti, Ennio Morricone sono alcune delle collaborazioni di questo periodo.
Tornato in Italia nel 2001, Marco costruisce il proprio studio e continua a
lavorare, questa volta in progetti che includono popolari shows televisivi:
“RockPolitick di Adriano Celentano, Gianni Morandi, etc.
Dopo molti anni al servizio di un’incredibile lista di artisti internazionali, Marco
si sente pronto ad uscire con la propria musica. Va al Cosmos Studio di
Stoccolma e, usando soltanto un piano a coda ed un vecchio armonium,
registra il suo primo album: una collezione di 12 ninne-nanne.
Nel 2008 Marco inizia la collaborazione, ripetuta nel 2009, con la rockstar
Ligabue. Marco arrangia, orchestra e dirige l’Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona (70
elementi) nelle ormai famosissime “Notti in Arena” davanti a circa 125000
spettatori ogni anno (8 concerti sold-out ogni estate). CD e DVD live, riprese
TV sono parte di questo spettacolo – attualmente fra i più popolari live shows
italiani.
Il 2010 vedrà l’uscita mondiale del monumentale symphonic metal CD
“CHARLEMAGNE” – musica composta da Marco – con il leggendario attore
britannico Christopher Lee (Star Wars, Dracula, Lord Of The Rings...) che
canta, narra e recita l’epica storia dello storico re europeo (che,
incredibilmente, è un antenato di Christopher Lee).
“CHARLEMAGNE” è un CD con orchestra, coro, rock band e cantanti ospiti. La
presentazione del CD avverrà a Londra.
Marco Sabiu è anche attivo nel mondo delle colonne sonore: sta attualmente
lavorando ad un documentario per la rete televisiva europea ARTE TV.
