RENATO GIROLAMI Baritone One of the most exciting baritones of today, Renato Girolami apparead in some among the world’s most important opera houses, including Teatro alla Scala, Salzburg Festival, Wiener Staatsoper, Theater an der Wien, Opernhaus Zürich, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Staatsoper in Berlin, Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona, Glyndebourne Festival, Canadian Opera Company, New National Theater Tokyo, New Israeli Opera, Innsbrucker Festwochen, De Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Teatro La Fenice, Opéra de Lille. He worked with such conductors as Renato Palumbo, Ascher Fisch, Donato Renzetti, Omer Meir Wellber, Alessandro De Marchi, just to name a few. During the 2015/16 season he performed Il turco in Italia (Don Geronio) at Staatsoper Hamburg, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) at Bayerische Staatsoper, at Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla and at Staatsoper Hamburg, Falstaff (title role) at Kungliga Operan in Stockholm, Il matrimonio segreto at Innsbruck Festival. He opened the 2016/17 season performing La Cenerentola (Don Magnifico) at Opéra de Lille, at Wiener Staatsoper and at Norske Opera in Olso. Among his future plans are L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo), Il turco in Italia (Don Geronio) and Don Pasquale (Dottor Malatesta) at Opernhaus Zürich, Don Pasquale (Dottor Malatesta) at Glyndebourne Festival, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) at Hamburg Staatsoper, La Cenerentola (Don Magnifico) at Opéra de Lyon, L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara) at New National Theatre Tokyo. He took part in important productions including Zaide (Osmin) at Salzburg Festival, L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara) at Teatro alla Scala, at Staatsoper in Berlin and at New National Theatre Tokyo, Don Giovanni (Leporello) at Teatro La Fenice, La forza del destino (Fra Melitone) at Liceu de Barcelona and at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Il barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo) at Bayerische Staatsoper, at Staatsoper Hamburg, at Opernhaus Zürich and at Canadian Opera Company, Il turco in Italia (Don Geronio) at Bayerische Staatsoper and at Staatsoper Hamburg, Il matrimonio segreto (Geronimo) at Opernhaus Zürich. Ex-ensemble member of Wiener Staatsoper and Volksoper, he studied singing at Musikhochschule in München and in Rome with Sesto Bruscantini. His discography includes Figaro and Leporello for Naxos, La Serva Padrona (Uberto) and Livietta e Tracollo (Tracollo) for Bongiovanni.
