Fiam accoglie il pubblico di IMM a Colonia con un’assoluta novità 2010, presentando
tra le ultime creazioni la nuova libreria modulare INORI, di Setsu & Shinobu Ito.
Il progetto trae ispirazione dalla parola giapponese, che significa ‘pregare’:
l’elemento verticale della libreria rappresenta la forma delle mani quando si riceve, si
dà e si ringrazia, come per racchiudere e proteggere gli oggetti e dar vita ad uno
spazio intimamente sacro.
Sistema composto da elementi in vetro tra di essi modulabili, INORI può essere
utilizzata, oltre che come libreria, anche come espositore, contenitore e porta-TV,
sviluppabili in versioni a parete o autoportanti.
La modularità e la versatilità permettono di creare infinite forme compositive che si
adattano ai diversi spazi domestici ed offrono soluzioni d’arredo per dividere tra loro
gli ambienti.
In un percorso tra passato e futuro, Fiam ripercorre le epoche della sua storia
rivisitando alcuni dei suoi prodotti-icona: RAGNO, nella nuova versione rotonda, e
CAADRE, con nuove misure e finiture.
Prosegue inoltre la collaborazione con Ilaria Marelli per un nuovo elemento della
collezione MILO, la vetrina MILO DAY, in cui la smaterializzazione della trasparenza
o la presenza scenica della finitura fumé contribuiscono a valorizzare l’elemento
d’arredo ed allo stesso tempo a rendere protagonisti gli oggetti in esso contenuti.
Da oltre 35 anni Fiam racchiude nella cultura del vetro una tradizione di competenze
tecniche, un bagaglio di valori imprenditoriali, una raffinata sensibilità estetica, ma
soprattutto una visione, da sempre orientata a trasmettere al pubblico le emozioni
che scaturiscono da una materia affascinante.
Plasmare il vetro significa affrontare ogni volta una nuova sfida nel piegare la
volontà della materia alla volontà dell’uomo e realizzare il perfetto incontro fra
sapienza artigianale, capacità tecnologica e genio progettuale.
Fiam rende possibile questo equilibrio unico di passione e know-how, collaborando
con designer di calibro internazionale per testimoniare con i suoi prodotti una storia
che ha lasciato tracce indelebili nel panorama del design e prosegue ancora oggi su
un cammino aperto al futuro.

Sistema composto da elementi in vetro modulabili.
La modularità e la versatilità ne permettono l’utilizzo come libreria, espositore,
contenitore, porta-TV, sviluppabili in versioni a parete o autoportanti.
Struttura con basi d’appoggio in vetro temperato di spessore 12 mm nelle finiture
vetro extralight retroverniciato bianco, fumé retroverniciato nero e extralight
argentato.

Fiam will be welcoming visitors to IMM in Cologne with an absolute novelty for 2010,
with the new INORI modular bookcase, by Setsu & Shinobu Ito, amongst the latest
creations presented.
The design is inspired by the Japanese word, which means “to pray”: the vertical
part of the bookcase is shaped like hands in the act of receiving, giving and
thanking, as if enclosing and protecting the objects inside and forming an intimately
sacred space.
A system comprising glass elements which can be assembled in modular fashion,
INORI can be a display cabinet, storage unit or TV cabinet, in wall-mounted or freestanding versions, as well as a bookcase.
This modularity and versatility allow the creation of an infinite variety of
compositional forms, suited to various contexts within the home or for use as
partitions for dividing up rooms.
Striking a balance between past and future, Fiam retraces the key periods in its
history by returning to some of its iconic products: RAGNO, in the new round
version, and CAADRE, with new sizes and finishes.
The association with Ilaria Marelli also continues with a new element in the MILO
collection, the MILO DAY display cabinet, in which the apparent intangibility of the
transparent material, or the striking use of a smoke grey finish, add to the character
of the cabinet itself while also placing the focus on the objects it contains.
For more than 35 years, Fiam has brought to the culture of glassworking a tradition
of technical expertise, high business values and a sophisticated aesthetic, but above
all a vision, which has always aimed to convey all this fascinating material’s
emotional charge to the public at large.
Shaping glass means taking on a new challenge every time, as the will of the
material is bent to the will of man, and achieving the perfect blend of the craftsman’s
skill, technological expertise and creative genius.
Fiam makes this unique balance between passion and know-how possible by
working with designers of international calibre, and its products tell a story that has
left indelible traces of its evolution on the design scene, and still continues along a
path open to the future.

Glass modular system. The versatility and assembly possibilities allow the utilization
as a show-case, display-case, TV-unit. Available the free-standing version and wall
unit.
