Gabriele Nani – Baritone Born in Bergamo, Gabriele Nani studies the piano and then focuses on singing. His recent engagements include Simone/La Finta Semplice at Teatro Sociale Como, Figaro/Barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro Sociale Como, Procolo/Viva La Mamma at Opera de Metz Metropole and also Schaunard/ La Bohème at Den Jynske Opera. His future engagements include Enrico/Lucia di Lammermoor at Opera de Massy in France. His favorite roles are: Rossini’s Figaro/Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Donizetti’s Enrico/Lucia di Lammermoor, Puccini’s Marcello/La Bohème. He also sings: Figaro/Le Nozze di Figaro, Simone/La finta semplice of Mozart; Belcore/L’Elisir d’Amore, Malatesta/Don Pasquale, Enrico/Il Campanello of Donizetti; Belfiore/Un giorno di Regno, Germont/La Traviata of Verdi; Wurm/Le Villi, Frank/Edgar, Sharpless/Madame Butterfly of Puccini and many others. His contemporary repertoire includes: Dalla Piccola’s Il Prigioniero and Job, the world debut of Ferrero’s Le Piccole Storie and Pagotto’s Arcibaldo Sonivari at Modena’s Teatro Pavarotti. After winning several competitions, including the European Community Competition in Spoleto, he begins his career on Italian stages: Turin’s Regio, Catania’s Bellini, Cagliari’s Lirico, The Puccini Festival at Torre del Lago, and Parma’s Regio. He tours to the Auditorio Nacional of Mexico City, Cremona’s Ponchielli, Como’s Sociale, Brescia’s Grande, Piacenza’s Municipale, Ravenna’s Alighieri, Ferrara’s Comunale, Padua’s Verdi, Rovigo’s Sociale, Lucca’s Giglio, and Leghorn’s Goldoni. Abroad he sings at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, Opéra Royal Wallonie Liege, Opéra de Massy, Fribourg, Lausanne, Theater An Der Wien, Opern Festspiele di St. Margarethen, Musikfestspiele in Potsdam, Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad, Opéra de Metz Metropole, Seoul Art Center Opera Theater. He performs in concert at Marti Talvela Hall in Mikkeli, Finland, Malta’s Manoel Teatro, the Art Center Auditorium in Manama, Bahrain, the Hall in the Enescu Museum in Bucharest, Rumania, the Luxembourg Auditorium, and at the Camprodon Albeniz Festival in Spain, Shanghai Oriental Art Center Concert Hall. He is among the winners of RAI 1’s television competition Tour de Chant, where his performances of both Mozart’s and Rossini’s Figaro garner acclaim.. He works with conductors such as Zoltan Pesko, Carlo Boccadoro, Donato Renzetti, Paolo Arrivabeni, Tiziano Severini, Steven Mercurio, Alfred Eschwe, George Pehlivanian, Kirill Petrenko, Asher Fisch, and Juraj Valcuha. He works with directors such as Hugo De Ana, Giancarlo Del Monaco, Stefano Poda, Ivan Stefanutti, Marco Gandini, Keith Warner, Josè Cura, Micha van Hoecke, Michal Znaniecki, Robert Dornhelm and Luca Ronconi. His recordings include: Lehár’s The Merry Widow conducted by Asher Fisch for DVD Fabbri Editori, the first CD recording of Generali’s Adelina for Naxos, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale at Vicenza’s Teatro Olimpico for DVD Bongiovanni, and Bellini’s La Sonnambula staged by Hugo de Ana for DVD Dynamic, Puccini’s La Bohème staged by Robert Dornhelm DVD Gramola, the Movie "Il Sogno di Rigoletto" staged by Mauro Maletti.
