Programme of the AGM
Optional Programme “Voyage of Discovery”
Friday 19th April For participants who arrive on the morning of Friday, 19th
April, or earlier, we have organised a guided visit to “The
Last Supper” (L’Ultima Cena) by Leonardo da Vinci in
the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. Meet at
11.00 a.m. in front of the church of S. Maria delle Grazie,
Piazza Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. This visit has
been specially arranged by Sandrina Bandera, member
of the Morimondo Foundation and “Sopraintendente per i
Beni Storici, Artistici ed Etnoantropologici di Milano e altre
province lombarde”. It is therefore essential to book in
advance, maximum 25 participants.

The abbey was founded in 1134 on a
headland overlooking the rich Lombardy
plain. Today this is situated at the heart of
the village of the same name.

monks) restaurant in the abbey cloister
Visit to Fontevivo Abbey. Daughter
of Chiaravalle della Colomba Abbey,
founded in 1142. The abbey church of this
abbey, which resembles that of its mother
church, is today a parish church, but has
its monastic infrastructure well preserved.
Return to Morimondo
Visit to Chiaravalle Milanese Abbey, an
abbey in active use.

9:30 - 10:30 Visit to Rivalta Scrivia Abbey, daughter
of La Ferté, founded in 1180 in Piemonte,
the lands of the abbey are now divided:
the rich farmland of the monastery is now
used for cereal crops and rice paddies,
the parish owns the abbey church and the
east side of the cloister, while the other
conventual buildings are private property.

Lunch at Tiglieto
Visit to Tiglieto Abbey, daughter of La
Ferté, founded in 1120 in Liguria, Santa
Maria et Santa Croce, first Cistercian
Abbey outside France. It is situated at the
bottom of a wooded valley, by a stream in
lush pasturel,and and illustrates perfectly
the Cistercian ideal of escape from the
noise of the world.

arrangements at the sites being visited.

Transport Possibilities
There is a large choice of flights to Milan
- Malpensa Airport, about 30 km (20 miles) from
Morimondo.
- Torino Caselle Airport
- Bergamo Airport
Train : Milano Centrale
For those who arrive by air, we recommend you take the
bus to Milano Centrale, then by Metro (M2 - Green Line) to
Abbiategrasso. You will then be close to Morimondo where
you can either take the bus or be collected by volunteers.
Hotels
Participants must reserve their hotels themselves. Rooms
have been reserved in the name of the Charter in the
hotels below until March 15. Thank you for reporting to the
hotel that you are attending the General Assembly of the
Charter.
Annunciata (Abbiategrasso)
Near Morimondo. An option has been taken on rooms for
20 people, valid until 1 month before the AGM. The hotel
is owned by the local authority. Price: 15€ per person per
night.
