Dear colleagues,
I am increasingly convinced that surgery in spinal diseases must be the result
of an intellectual process by the surgeons who, based on their comprehensive
and ever updated knowledge, can give their patients the best advice to relief
symptoms and functional diseases.
Therefore, based on the observation and evaluation of clinical cases and in
order to increase our knowledge, discussion is extremely important to reach
a consensus and assess outcomes and possible complications.
I decided to organize this expert forum on treatment of spondylolisthesis in
an important research centre called “Sardegna Ricerche”, a science and
technology park located a few km from the city of Cagliari.
This is the place where I am involved in a number of research projects on
spinal surgery with a group of bioengineers.
It will be the best suited venue for an interactive international meeting on
an extremely interesting topic, with an update on new technological
developments in the surgical treatment of this condition.
The meeting will include four sessions in two half-days. The first session on
Friday afternoon will be about adult spondylolisthesis with lysis, while the
topic of the second session will be spondyloptosis.
On Saturday morning, the two sessions will be devoted to paediatric
spondylolisthesis and to the degenerative forms.
Only a limited number of participants will be accepted and discussion will
be encouraged throughout the meeting.
I hope that this event can be constructive and interesting for all.

SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION
LANGUAGE
Official languages of the Meeting are Italian and English.
Simultaneous translation will be provided.
AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT
PC Projection (only PPT file on CD or on a memory stick,
USB port or DVD) will be provided. Speakers are kindly
invited to contact the Slide Center at least one hour
before the lecture in order to test all the audiovisual
material. The use of personal laptop is not allowed. The
presentation will be forwarded through Local Area
Network (LAN) directly to the Meeting hall.
CLINICAL CASE PRESENTATION
The total amount of time available for each clinical case
is 15 min. (5 for presentation and 10 for discussion).
Due to the international nature of the meeting, all the
slides for projection should be prepared in English.
CME – Continuing Medical Education

CME Accreditation will be requested to the Italian
Department of Health in relation to the Italian Continuing
Medical Educational Program for Surgeon, disciplines:

FAREWELL DINNER
The Farewell Dinner will be held in the Is Molas Golf Resort
(Località Is Molas, Pula) on Friday, November 20th, 2009 at

additional details regarding transportations and meeting point.

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is
strongly recommended that any time your register for the Meeting
and book your travel you take out an insurance policy of your
