Spegnere l’unità. 2. 3. Tenere premuti i tasti e in contemporanea e quindi accendere l’unità. 4. Switch the unit off. Put the floppy in the floppy unit integrated in the unit. Keep the and keys pressed and then start the unit. Continue to keep the keys pressed until the unit emits a note once and the following message is displayed on a blue screen: “SOFTWARE UPDATE” together with the indication of the percentage of the process completed. The unit is Caution Do not interrupt the unit updating process or put in an empty floppy which does not contain the unit software to avoid stopping the unit. updating the system software, a process which will take about 90 seconds. 5. Take out the floppy and start the unit again when the device emits a note twice and displays the following message: “PLEASE RESTART”. The process is now complete. (If after performing the procedure from 1 to 5, the unit does not switch on, check the operation of the floppy unit and that the file is intact, then perform the procedure from 1 to 5 again). 6. Check the system software version accessing the setup menu (programming menu) and pressing keys and simultaneously. Terraneo GB 39 Basic operations This section shows how to use and manage the unit when it is working. Configuring the recording Programming recording times (programming recording rate and picture quality) Programming the REC TIME (recording times) mode with a multiplexer. The recording rates will vary depending on the picture size, the recording rate and the capacity of the hard disk. The unit is normally supplied with an incorporated hard disk for the continuous recording of more than four weeks in most recording conditions. The table below shows the recording times possible with a 20GB hard disk at the corresponding updating rates and picture quality. In the case of operation with one or more hard disk units, please calculate the recording times as needed using the following table. In the case of an PAL unit, for example, if this has been programmed for the recording of HIGH quality pictures at 50 fps, the 20GB hard disk is filled in 3,5 hours (refer to the grey area of the table). If a total hard disk capacity of 80GB is used, with the same updating rate and picture quality it will be filled in 14 hours (4 times the time of a 20GB hard disk unit). The length of the recordings will however be reduced proportionally if there is an alarm during normal recording which could trigger the prealarm recording function. For a recording and optimum playing of the pictures using a multiplexer, the multiplexer recording rate must be adjusted to correspond to the unit rate and the ON (enabled) option must be selected in MULTIPLEXER in the SETUP (programming) menu. To programme the system with the multiplexer, perform one of the two procedures described below: 1. with the multiplexer connected to the unit, programme the multiplexer REC TIME (recording times) mode referring to the table below (each value of the picture-updating interval (refresh) corresponds to a recording frequency mode). 2. connect the SW. OUT (rec. synchronisation) output on the unit rear panel to the multiplexer TRIGGER (reference signal) contact. The unit will supply the timing signal to the multiplexer so that if the unit recording rate is modified, the multiplexer will also automatically conform to the same recording rate. The unit does not supply the timing signal for the 2-hour recording mode in the NTSC format and 3 hours in the PAL format.
