Tasks for the volunteer: please describe briefly
The main tasks to be performed are divided into two main groups:
1. Participation in educational and social tasks in the nursery of Waldorf education:
• Receive the children in the classroom along with the teacher responsible.
• Preparation with the teacher responsible for the artistic or artisanal time daily (watercolour paint, fabric, wax
modelling, pictures with carded wool, kneading bread ...).
• Presence in the playground at the break.
• Participation in games, dances and songs of the classroom of each season.
• Preparation and collaboration in the theatre and stories at the end of daily activity.
• Accompany the children in lunchtime in the kitchen-dining room. Volunteers eat with the children.
• Regular meetings with teachers, supervisory tasks (a teacher is assigned to each volunteer) to keep track of
work in the classroom.
• Regular meetings with the tutor, who will do the job of the volunteer support and follow.
2. Social and cultural participation:
• Disclosure of their culture and language of origin among children, enriching their learning each other.
• Learning Spanish, both colloquial language in their daily lives as through formal Spanish classes. There are
several options in Alicante Spanish courses depending on the level that the volunteer wants to take.
• Participation in courses, conferences, meetings, workshops, or artistic or educational seminars organized by
the school. The seminars are taught within the course of formal training in Waldorf education that takes place
in school.
• Participation in team meetings teachers teaching.
• Participation in monthly quarterly festivals that take place in the association.
• Participation in excursions or visits organized by the association.
• Visits to families for weekends or to accompany interesting for voluntary travel.
• Attendance at meetings of young European volunteers to organize parallels in Spain, through youth centres.

Practical arrangements for the volunteer: please describe the arrangements for the volunteer
Food:
During the working days, the volunteers have lunch at the school with the children. Furthermore a percentage
of the monthly budget is dedicated to the food expenses. The project assumes the 100% of food expenses.
Accommodation:
Volunteers share a flat in the city of Alicante. The shared apartment will provide the equipment necessary for
coexistence of volunteers. Volunteers are responsible for keeping the house clean and are also responsible to
take care of the equipment inside the house. In case of damage because of wilful negligence they may be asked
to pay the repairing costs.
The flat is located in the centre of Alicante town, 10 min walking distance from the bus stop to the school,
10min to the old town and nearby the beach. It has three bedrooms with wardrobe in each one, one kitchen,
one bathroom (to be shared) and one living room. The kitchen is fully equipped including, washing machine and
fridge.
We suggest to bring towels or to buy them in Spain.
The practical arrangements (working hours, days off per week, holidays):
The voluntary activity follows the school's daily schedule from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 15:30. The
holidays coincide with the school calendar of the Valencian Community. We attach the initial calendar of our
school, it could change slightly.
Volunteers’ Allowance (Pocket Money):
The volunteer will receive a monthly allowance of 105 € (as pocket money), as established in Erasmus plus
Program. And extra allownace per month, arround 100 euros dependding on the grant.
Local Transport:
The project covers the expenses of the local transport expenses to the school. Each volunteer receives a bono
bus. They have to take bus number 26 from Alicante town to the school, it takes 30 min. We will help them
before the first day.
Language Support:
The volunteer will attend a Spanish course organised by the official Spanish language school. More information
will be provided once they are in Spain.
Training and Support:
In addition to ensuring effective mentoring for the volunteer, the Hosting Organisation will take full
responsibility for monitoring the whole learning process -explaining it fully at the on-arrival training-,
conducting a thorough mid-term evaluation and issuing the Youthpass (the certificate that describes & validates
the non-formal learning).
About the trainings: volunteers will attend to the EVS Training & Evaluation Cycle organized by the Sending
Organisation and the Spanish National Agency .
