Presentazione del progetto e descrizione delle attività svolte
Il progetto “Silent Night in Europe” si può definire un progetto “natalizio”.
Si tratta di un progetto semplice, limitato nel tempo, infatti la sua chiusura è stata prevista per il 24 dicembre 2012.
Il creatore del progetto è un maestro olandese, Huub Creemers. La lingua di comunicazione è l’Inglese.
Lo scopo del progetto è condividere con altri colleghi europei l’esperienza relativa alle attività in preparazione del Natale che occupano una
parte piuttosto rilevante nell’attività didattica della scuola primaria, indissolubilmente legata al periodo prenatalizio.
In occasione del Natale, in tutte le scuole accomunate dalla stessa cultura europea, le attività si arricchiscono di contenuti che offrono spazio
e tempo alla creatività nelle varie forme espressive e in diversi ambiti disciplinari, in particolare quello artistico, poetico e musicale …
La canzone “Silent Night” scelta dal maestro Huub, conosciuta e cantata in molte versioni nelle diverse lingue europee, si configura come
contenuto ideale per un percorso creativo-didattico rivolto a costruire un archivio virtuale a cui far riferimento per condividere e
confrontare conoscenze, idiomi, modalità di sviluppo e organizzazione del lavoro scolastico, prodotti e produzioni … in un contesto ludicoespressivo-creativo in cui entrano in gioco emozioni e sentimenti.
Grazie ad essa, le classi che hanno partecipato al progetto, hanno potuto ulteriormente arricchire il percorso didattico in preparazione del
Natale.
La classe 4a A della scuola Europa ha partecipato con le seguenti attività:
- ascolto del canto nelle versioni delle varie lingue europee (Silent Night, Stille Nacht …)
- ascolto del canto nelle versioni della lingua italiana (Astro del Ciel, Notte Santa …)
- invenzione e scrittura di un nuovo testo in lingua italiana sulle note di “Astro del ciel”
- traduzione in lingua inglese del testo inventato
- esecuzione del canto inventato, sua registrazione grazie ai supporti informatici di cui la scuola è dotata (LIM, computer, casse acustiche,
microfono, software adeguati …) e creazione di file mp3
- produzione individuale di disegni a tema natalizio con la tecnica della colorazione a matita
- produzione di disegni a tema natalizio a coppie di alunni, nel laboratorio d’Informatica, usando il software grafico “tuxpaint”
- produzione di video con disegni e audio: la canzone, nelle varie versioni, fa da colonna sonora alle immagini costituite dai disegni
prodotti dai bambini e dal testo da essi inventato
- canto e registrazione di auguri e saluti in lingua italiana e inglese (file mp3) e relativo video con disegni che illustrano la rappresentazione
corale al teatro del castello Pasquini di Castiglioncello e le varie attività laboratoriali per addobbi, decorazioni e lavoretti
- caricamento dell’intera documentazione (files di testo, audio e video) nello spazio della Piattaforma e.twinning riservato al progetto
- scambio di messaggi in lingua inglese attraverso la posta elettronica e il blog inserito all’interno dello spazio dedicato al progetto.

We are looking for European versions of the famous Christmas song
"Silent Night".
In the twinspace we would like to present:

the song, from CD or sung by the pupils, as MP3
a presentation: Christmas drawings and the song in a WMMpresentation, PPT or else
Goals

Comparing the versions of the song "Silent Night" in
European countries.
•
Comparing the different languages in Europe: what are the
European language families.
•
Comparing drawings: theme Christmas
How?
1.
A class of pupils makes drawings: theme is "Christmas".
2.
The drawings are digitalized and used in a WMMpresentation, a PPT presentation or else.
3.
The music in the presentation is "Silent Night" in the mother
tongue.
4.
The lyrics in the mother tongue are written in a Word
document.
The project should be finished on December 24th 2012.

Pedagogical Innovation and creativity
Pupils worked for a worldwide well known item and discovered that
there are the same kind of activities in all European countries
concerning the same celebration
Integration in the curriculum.
Presentations for the project are realized during the regular:
 Drawing lessons
 Music lessons
 ICT lessons
Cooperation between partner schools:
There has not been a real cooperation between pupils. Pupils show
their “colleagues” in other countries how in their own school the
item “Christmas” is worked out in their lessons and teaching
program.
How ICT is used:
Presentations by connecting digitalized drawings and music.
Using WMM, PPT, video, MP3
Sustainability:
The project can be worked out every year during Christmas time and
can be used in all European countries. The project is compact and
can be used in every different level in school, for the youngest pupils
as well as for the older ones.
Results:
In only three weeks it was possible to get nice results. Pupils learned
that children all over Europe work in the (more or less) same way
for the same item. They discovered similarities in foreign languages
and drawing lessons in schools. They showed everybody that there
are a lot of similarities concerning items like “Silent Night” in most
of the European countries.
