PERFORMERS
Belgian Soprano Ann De Renais began her international career as 1st soprano of the 8part vocal ensemble The Swingle Singers, with whom she gave many a cappella
performances around the world, as well as contemporary operas at La Scala, Milan and
The Chatelet Theatre, Paris.
Her opera credits include Mozart’s Queen of the Night for Glyndebourne, Handel’s
Cleopatra for the English National opera Bayliss Programme, Nannetta (Falstaff) for
Opus Gattieres in France, the Fire and the Nightingale (L’Enfant et les Sortileges) for New
Tel Aviv Opera in Israel, Susanne (The Marriage of Figaro) for Beaufort Opera in London.
English Soprano Wendy Nieper also performed with the Swingle Singers and during her
five years with this world renowned a cappella group, she has performed with many of the
world’s most famous orchestras and opera companies. She has appeared with the Berlin
Philharmonic, Tonhalle Orchestra, the Tokyo and American Symphony Orchestras, the
London Sinfonietta and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. She also sings with the BBC
Singers and London Voices.
Pianist: Daniel Schroyens, born in Mechelen, Belgium, stems from a musical family.
As a composer and accompanist, he has been working on a regular basis with soprano
Ann De Renais since 1994. He studied piano and composition at Trinity College of
Music and at the Guildhall of Music and Drama. His composition awards include the
Yehudi Menuhin and Lutoslawski Prizes in the UK and the Tenuto Prize in Belgium.
Cost: £25 per person to include prosecco and canapes after the concert.
