Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Antonino Mazzeo is full Professor of Computer Architectures, Embedded Systems and High-Performance and
Reliable Computing at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the University of
Naples Federico II, Italy. He is President of CeRICT (the Campania Regional ICT Consortium) since 2008. He is also
President of the Board for Graduation in Information Engineering (GII).
He is author of more than 200 publications in National and International journals and conference proceedings.
His research activities address both theoretical and experimental issues in performance evaluation of computer systems,
concurrent languages and parallel programming environments, secure and fault-tolerant computing, electronic
document management and secure e-government applications.

He is Editor of Special issues of many IEEE Journals (as Cryptography and Security), Books (as E-Government ICT
Professionalism and Competences Service Science) and Conference Proceedings. He served as General Chairs of
numerous conferences (e.g. Autonomic and Trusted Computing – ATC’2013 and 2006, European Simulation and
Modelling ESMc'2003, Security in Ubiquitous Computing Systems – SecUbiq’08, Computer Safety, Reliability and
Security, Advanced Information Networking and Applications –AINA’13). He was member of the Program Committee
of a numerous Conferences, Symposia and Workshops (e.g. Intelligent Distributed Computing – IDC’12, Complex,
Intelligent and Software Intensive Systems –CISIS’11, Parallel and Distributed Processing and Applications –ISPA’06,
P2P, Parallel, Grid, Cloud And Internet Computing 3PGCIC’10-16).
He was member of the Committee of the Department of Information Systems of the University of Naples Federico II
during the first three years of its composition. He has contributed to the definition of all the organizational and
administrative aspects, and to the definition of the research plans of the Department in relation to the research on the
Power and Efficiency Evaluations, Calculating Nets and Heavy Parallel Architecture Systems. He is President of the
SCARL society RIMIC for the management of the Information and Telecommunication services of the seven
universities of the region Campania and CeRICT Regional Centre of Competence on ICT.
He is member of the consulting committee of 8 national experts on Internet Governance of the Ministry for the Reform
and Innovation of Public Administration. He is the person in charge of the joint between the University of Naples and
the Justice Ministry – DGSIA for the computerization of the Criminal Law area. He was appointed “delegate of the
Rector” in the field of Informatics and Telematics and he is member of the Commission for the development of
Informatics and Telematics of the University “Federico II”. He was member of the Commission for the design of the
"Geographic network university STARNET" and GARR (“Gruppo Armonizzazione Reti per la Ricerca”) in the
ITRONICA project. He was elected President of the Master Degree in Computer Engineering of the University
“Federico II” from 2004 to 2007.
He is Principal Investigator of the project RIMIC “realizzazione di una Rete di Interconnessione Multiservizio
Interuniversitaria Campana” founded for €13.4 Ml by National Operative Program Programma “Ricerca e
Competitività 2007-2013 per le Regioni dll’Obiettivo Convergenza Campania, Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia”. He is leader of
the project ESPRIT 831 "ASTRA" on "Distributed Architecture for the Programming and Application of Public
Administration Office Systems" in the European area and of the Project ESIS for the development of an information
system based on “Student information Points" for use in certifications, reserving exams, and disseminating information
concerningt personal and academic careers.
He is involved in a great number of International and National Project, as “Qualità per la Pubblica Amministrazione” of
the Parco Scientifico e Tecnologico di Napoli, financed by the IMI and encouraging the creation of organizational
processes able to help transparency and quality in the services offered by the P.A. He is also leader of the project
"Potenziamento Reti Metropolitane" of MURST and of the the project “Telemedicina”, fundend by Campania Regional
Council, involving 20 universities and hospitals.
He was leader of the project “E-Government” coordinated by CINI with MIT; and of the series of projects of Science
and Technology Park of Technapoli.
Has has scientific, academic, and consulting collaborations with great national companies like Alenia, Ansaldo
Trasporti, Alfa Avio, Telecom, IBM, Digital, Italdata, SEMA Group, IPM, SIA, Engineering and several PP.AA.
