1. GENERALITÀ
Tipologia
Valvola a saracinesca a cuneo gommato con estremità a innesto
antisfilamento per tubi PE/PVC .

Applicazione
Reti di distribuzione di acqua e acqua potabile.
2. TRASPORTO
Le valvole vengono spedite pronte per essere messe in esercizio.
Per le operazioni di carico e trasporto, fissare la valvola in modo che non possa sbattere né
contro altre apparecchiature né contro le pareti del contenitore, ad esempio bloccandola con
delle reggette al pallet. Eventualmente proteggere le superfici della saracinesca con fogli di
cartone spesso o altro materiale di protezione.
Per sollevare le valvole di grosso peso utilizzare un golfare avvitato in testa d’albero. In caso
di soluzioni alternative, si ricorda di proteggere sempre le parti verniciate dal contatto diretto
con ganci o altri utensili rigidi.
3. STOCCAGGIO
Le valvole devono essere tenute a magazzino in modo tale che anche dopo un lungo periodo di
permanenza la loro funzionalità non venga compromessa. A questo proposito si consiglia di:
□
Immagazzinare le valvole in posizione di parziale apertura per evitare danneggiamenti delle
superfici di tenuta;
□
Evitare l’esposizione diretta della valvola a sporcizia e gelo, ad esempio utilizzando fogli di
protezione e/o coperture;
Per garantire l’integrità delle tenute morbide, è necessario osservare le prescrizioni per lo
stoccaggio degli elastomeri (DIN 7716), di cui si riassumono i punti principali:
□
Il magazzino deve essere asciutto, privo di polvere e moderatamente aerato. La
temperatura deve essere compresa tra -20° e +70°C.
□
Valvole aventi tenute realizzate con un elastomero di EPDM non devono venire in contatto
con solventi, lubrificanti, carburante, o altri prodotti chimici che potrebbero deteriorare
l'elastomero stesso;
□
Le valvole devono essere immagazzinate in modo tale che né la luce solare né la luce "UV"
proveniente da altre sorgenti luminose investano i materiali elastomerici direttamente.
4. INSTALLAZIONE
La tubazione deve essere installata in modo da evitare la trasmissione di sforzi che potrebbero
risultare molto dannosi per la saracinesca e per la tenuta dei collegamenti.
Qualora i lavori di costruzione fossero ancora in corso, le valvole devono essere protette da
polvere, sabbia e pezzi di materiale estraneo.
Messa in esercizio
Prima della messa in esercizio si devono confrontare materiale, dati di pressione e di
temperatura della valvola con le condizioni di funzionamento della condotta, per verificare la
resistenza del materiale ed il carico ammesso.
Eventuali colpi d'ariete non devono superare la pressione massima ammissibile (PMA).
Nel caso di impianti nuovi ed in particolare dopo riparazioni si deve pulire l'intero sistema di
tubazioni con le valvole aperte completamente, per rimuovere eventuali particelle solide che
potrebbero danneggiare le superfici di tenuta.
Manovra
Azionare la valvola attraverso il volantino: normalmente la posizione di chiusura si raggiunge
ruotando verso destra, mentre girando verso sinistra si effettua l'apertura. Non è ammissibile
usare leve supplementari per ruotare il volantino, al fine di non generare sollecitazioni
eccessive.
Le valvole di intercettazione devono essere utilizzate completamente aperte o completamente
chiuse.
In caso di parzializzazione della normale valvola di intercettazione, si può avere un aumento
della rumorosità e/o un logorio accentuato causato dalla corrente accelerata.

Controllo del funzionamento
Prima della messa in esercizio, controllare la funzione di intercettazione aprendo e chiudendo
più volte la valvola. Dopo la prima sollecitazione sotto carico, si deve controllare la tenuta
della chiusura corpo/coperchio: se necessario procedere ad un ulteriore serraggio delle viti
(ricordarsi di effettuare l'operazione serrando a croce e in modo uniforme). Prima di serrare,
per evitare tensioni, è necessario che la valvola venga aperta di due giri di volantino.

Arresto
Durante lunghi periodi di arresto si devono scaricare dalla rete i liquidi che tendono a cambiare
il loro stato in seguito a variazione della concentrazione, polimerizzazione, cristallizzazione,
solidificazione o simili.
Se necessario effettuare la pulizia di tutto il sistema di tubazioni con valvole completamente
aperte.
Connessione RACIGRIP - MONTAGGIO

Smussare il
tubo.

Infilare il tubo nel manicotto fino alla
battuta.
Per tubi sottili (fino a 3 mm)in PE e
condotte a bassa pressione usare una
boccola di sostegno.

Stringere a croce le viti
dell’antisfilamento finché l’anello di
tenuta fa presa.

5. MANUTENZIONE/RIPARAZIONE
Prima di rimuovere la flangia o il giunto dalla tubazione o prima di effettuare eventuali
riparazioni o lavori di manutenzione, è assolutamente necessario depressurizzare la condotta.
In caso di un eventuale trasporto, la flangia/giunto deve essere svuotato e lavato
accuratamente.

5.1 SOSTITUZIONE DELLA GUARNIZIONE DI TENUTA

6. SMALTIMENTO
Quando sarà necessaria la rimozione o sostituzione della valvola, bisognerà disassemblare, separare e
dividere le varie parti sulla base dei materiali che li compongono:


metalli;
componenti in plastica.
VERIFICARE CHE VENGANO SEMPRE RISPETTATE LE NORME PER IL CORRETTO RITIRO E SMALTIMENTO
DEI MATERIALI SMONTATI, O PER IL LORO RICICLO.
Osservare attentamente le norme nazionali i tutte le fasi dello smaltimento e/o riciclo.

1. PARTICULARS

Application
Distribution systems for water and potable water.
2. TRANSPORT
Valves are provided ready for operating.
For loading operations of and transporting, fix each valve so that it can’t hit either against
others equipments or the walls of the box, e.g. by blocking it with clamps onto the pallet.
Possibly, protect the gate valve surfaces with a thick paper or other protection material.
To lift heavier valves use an eyebolt screwed onto the head of the stem.
For alternative solutions, we remember to protect coated parts for the direct contact with hooks
or others rigid tools. Do not use handwheel to pick the valve up.
3. STORAGE
The valve can be stored so that, even after a long period of permanence, its functions are not
compromised.
Concerning this we recommend to:
□
□
Store the valve in partially open position to avoid damages on sealing surfaces;
Avoid direct exposition of the valve to dirt and to frost, for example by using protection
sheets and/or roofing.
To guarantee integrity of soft seal, it’s necessary to observe prescriptions for storage of
elastomers (DIN 7716), of which we remind main points:
□
The stock room must be dry, without dust and moderately aerated. Temperature must be
between -20 and + 70°C;
□
The valve made by a sealing of EPDM elastomer, must not be in contact with solvents,
lubricants, fuel, or other chemical products that could deteriorate the same elastomer.
□
The valves must be stored so that neither solar light nor “UV” light coming from other
lighting sources, hits the elastomeric material.
4. ASSEMBLING
The pipe must be assembled so that avoid transmission of stresses that could became damaging
to the gate valve.
If construction working are even in progress, the valves must be protected from dust, sand,
stranger material pieces.
Start - up
Before put on working it must compare material, pressure and temperature data of the valve
with the working condition of pipeline, to verify the material strength and the allowed load.
Water hammers must not exceed the maximum admissible pressure .
For new systems and in particular after repairs, it must clean the full pipe system with the
valves fully opened, to remove possible solid particles that could damage sealing surface.
Use.
Activate the valve by the handwheel : normally the closed position is obtained turning the
handwheel on the right, while on the left the valve is opened.
It’s not allowed to use additional lever to turning the handwheel, not to cause excessive stress.
The tapping valve must be used fully opened or closed.
In the case of partialization of normal tapping valve, we can have an increase of noise and or a
greater wearing caused by accelerated flow.
Functional Control
Before leave the valve on field verify the shut-off function, opening and closing more times the
valve.
After the former stress under load, it must control the tightness of body and cover connection:
if necessary proceed to tighten up of screws (make this tightening operation crossing
uniformly).
Before tighten, to avoid tensile stress, it's necessary that the valve it’s opened by two

handwheel turnings.
Stopping
During long stopping periods, it must empty the system from liquids that tend to change their
state after a change in concentration, polymerization, crystallization, solidification or similar.
If necessary make the cleaning of all the piping system with valves fully opened.

Push the pipe to the end of the socket.
For thin walled PE pipes (up to 3 mm
thickness) and low internal pressure
we suggest the use of metallic support
liner.

Tighten the lock ring bolts until the
lock ring stops against the body.
The RACIGRIP connection:
Unscrew the lock ring bolts.

Twist and withdraw the pipe.

5. M ANINTE NANCE/REP AIR
Before removing the flange or coupling from the pipe and before making any repairs or
maintenance work, it is absolutely necessary to depressurize the pipeline.
In case of a transport, the flange / coupling must be emptied and thoroughly washed.

7. Reassemble the docking ring to the valve
screwing the bolts until the plastic washers reach
the body (do not press them) Picture 15 .
8. Repeat all the steps on the other side.
6. DISPOSAL
When it is necessary to remove or replace the flange/joint, you will need to disassemble, separate
and divide the various parties on the basis of the materials that compose them:
▪ metals;
▪ plastic components.
MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALWAYS RESPECT THE RULES FOR THE PROPER COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF
REMOVED MATERIALS, OR FOR THEIR RECYCLING.
