Presentazione
del Congresso
Quando si parla di lesioni muscolari e tendinee la
“Football Medicine Community” si trova di fronte ad
un tema molto frequente e complesso che coinvolge
tutti gli operatori del settore.
Medici dello sport
I medici dello sport devono affrontare numerosi infortuni
muscolari ogni anno con una costante pressione su
prognosi, tempi di recupero e rischio di recidive. Un
aggiornamento in questo campo è fondamentale, anche
per migliorare il livello di comunicazione con lo staff
tecnico.
Chirurghi ortopedici
Gli ortopedici che intendono sviluppare la propria carriera
nell’ambito della “Sports Medicine”, devono spesso
prendere decisioni complesse su indicazioni e tecniche
chirurgiche. A questo proposito, gli argomenti chiave del
programma scientifico riguardano la gestione delle rotture
tendine, delle tendinopatie croniche e delle gravi lesioni
muscolari.
Specialisti della riabilitazione
Gli specialisti della riabilitazione hanno la responsabilità
di guidare l’atleta verso una completa guarigione biologica
e funzionale. Un percorso graduale da seguire con
estrema cautela per prevenire il rischio di un nuovo
infortunio.
Staff tecnico
Allenatori e preparatori devono gestire atleti che giocano
fino a 70 partite in un anno, intervallate ad oltre 200 sessioni
di allenamento, con un rischio di sovraccarico costante. In
un simile contesto la conoscenza appropriata delle tecniche
di riabilitazione e dei programmi di prevenzione risulta
fondamentale per la gestione dello sportivo.
Il programma del Congresso prevede quindi un approccio
multidisciplinare per mettere a disposizione della platea
una versione ampia della tematica. Molto spesso infatti
queste lesioni vengono affrontate in modo superspecialistico
con un’insufficiente comunicazione tra i diversi operatori
coinvolti nel processo di recupero, mentre è il gioco di
squadra che permette di raggiungere i migliori risultati.

internazionale
La Football Medicine Community
La scorsa edizione del Congresso ha confermato che esiste
nel mondo una grande famiglia che ruota attorno alla “Football
Medicine”. Abbiamo avuto partecipanti provenienti da 63
diverse nazioni, tutti accomunati dallo stesso desiderio di
portare salute ai calciatori. Questo Congresso rappresenta
un’opportunità per incontrare colleghi, discutere le migliori
strategie di cura e condividere la conoscenza nell’ambito
della “Football Medicine”.
Londra crocevia di culture
Le recenti Olimpiadi hanno confermato che oggi Londra
rappresenta un eccellente punto di transito internazionale.
Una realtà cresciuta nel secolo scorso e oggi consolidata da
numeri che parlano da soli: a Londra convivono popoli diversi
provenienti da 213 nazioni, in un clima di rispetto e libertà
reciproca.
La visione della FIFA
“Oltre trecento milioni di calciatori di cui prendersi cura”,
questa la missione di F-MARC, il centro di ricerca FIFA che
vuole portare salute e prevenzione nel mondo attraverso
i programmi “11+” e “11 For Health”. Isokinetic Medical Group,
in qualità di Centro Medico di Eccellenza FIFA, sostiene
questo progetto globale.

Il Centro Queen Elizabeth II è un moderno centro congressi
nel cuore londinese, situato vicino ad alcune delle più famose
attrattive della città quali Westminster Abbey, Big Ben e
London Eye. Il QEII ha ospitato, non soltanto Casa Italia
durante le Olimpiadi del 2012, ma anche molti importanti
eventi internazionali nel passato.
Il Congresso si sviluppa in più sale con sessioni parallele. Nella
sala principale, la “Fleming Room”, la capienza è di 780 posti
mentre nella sala parallela, il “Churchill Auditorium”, che ha
ospitato anche Nelson Mandela, la capacità è di 450 posti.
Ci sarà come di consueto un’area espositiva a disposizione
della Football Medicine Community che costituirà un luogo
di aggregazione e confronto durante i pranzi di lavoro e i
coffee break.

The Wembley Stadium
Nella giornata di lunedì il congresso si sposta allo stadio di
Wembley per “The Science of Fooball Summit”: un momento
di incontro teorico e pratico con allenatori e preparatori
atletici, per avvicinare il dibattito medico-scientifico alle reali
esperienze che emergono dal campo di gioco.
Le sessioni pratiche si svolgeranno sui campi in erba sintetica
di Wembley, mentre le lezioni teoriche si terranno in una delle
sale adibite a conferenza all’interno dello stadio.
Gli allenatori, preparatori atletici e personal trainers potranno
trarre ispirazione da questo luogo per discutere questioni
mediche e scientifiche sulle lesioni muscolari e tendinee.

L'evento, organizzato da I.S.Mu.L.T., proporrà una nuova classificazione delle lesioni muscolari.
Ulteriori argomenti comprenderanno il trattamento delle lesioni della cuffia dei rotatori e
l’utilizzo di acido ialuronico e cellule mesenchimali nei tendini.

La British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) è un’organizzazione nata nel
1953 da un gruppo di medici provenienti dagli organi direttivi dello sport anglosassone. Il suo
obiettivo è quello di sostenere e promuovere lo sport e l’esercizio come medicina. Ha molte
relazioni internazionali ed è collegata al British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Come per le passate edizioni anche il Congresso di Londra sarà un evento
multidisciplinare e sarà dato ampio spazio alle vostre esperienze e ai vostri casi
più interessanti, attraverso comunicazioni libere Orali e Poster.
Le comunicazioni Orali si svolgeranno durante le varie sessioni del programma
nella sala Parallela, mentre i Poster saranno esposti per tutta la durata del
Congresso in una zona dedicata e verranno discussi durante le Sessioni Poster.
I Contributi Scientifici dovranno pervenire alla Segreteria Scientifica sotto forma
di Abstract entro il 10 gennaio 2013. I riassunti dei lavori saranno pubblicati
nell’Abstract Book che verrà distribuito a tutti i partecipanti.

La nostra storia
Il Centro Studi
Il Centro Studi, cuore culturale del Gruppo Medico Isokinetic, è l'ente organizzatore
del Congresso. Il suo obiettivo è promuovere la ricerca e la condivisione scientifica
all'interno della Football Medicine Community. Nelle sue ultime edizioni, l'evento è
stato organizzato con la collaborazione di F-MARC e della Football Association.
La prima edizione
La prima edizione del Congresso Internazionale di Riabilitazione Sportiva e
traumatologia è stata organizzata sulle coste del Lago di Garda nel 1992, con l’obiettivo
di discutere insieme i grandi temi legati alla salute dell’atleta. I valori del primo
congresso, il gioco di squadra, l’amicizia, l’ospitalità e il libero confronto sono rimasti
invariati in tutte le successive edizioni.
Nuove tendenze
Nel 2012, il Congresso ha abbattuto tutte le barriere geografiche, offrendo un servizio
di Live Online Streaming, usufruibile dai congressisti comodamente dai propri uffici,
ambulatori e università in tutto il mondo. Quest'occasione rappresenta la prima in
assoluto nella quale un congresso sulla “Football Medicine” è stato messa a disposizione
online, definendo una nuova tendenza per gli eventi futuri.
L’evento del 2013
Nell’Aprile del 2013, in occasione della XXII edizione del congresso, celebreremo anche
l’apertura del nuovo Centro Isokinetic di Londra. Invitiamo amici e colleghi a visitare
la nuova sede di Isokinetic London.
