Strand of Silk, rivenditore online di abbigliamento e accessori indiani di alta
gamma, caratterizzati da design contemporaneo, ha presentato in esclusiva una
collezione di preziosi abiti nello storico Palazzo Sant’Elia, nel cuore della citta di
Palermo, in Italia, il giorno 8 Novembre 2013 . La collezione presentata all’evento
ha incluso un’ampia gamma di vestiti e accessori contemporanei, esempi classici di
puro artigianato indiano, interamente realizzato con tecniche tradizionali e adattato
con stile alle silhouette più contemporanee. L’evento è stata un’ottima occasione
per raccogliere circa 5.000 euro, interamente devoluti a favore dell’associazione
italiana di beneficienza Aisla.
La bellissima città di Palermo, in Sicilia, è stata la cornice ideale per creare un
indimenticabile evento serale, in cui sono state mostrate incredibili collezioni moda
dalle caratteristiche uniche. La serata ha avuto inizio con tartine e drink servite
nello splendido foyer di Palazzo Sant’Elia per accogliere gli ospiti, a seguire ha
avuto inizio l’evento in sé, ovvero la presentazione delle collezioni moda.
Nonostante Strand of Silk sia stato lo sponsor principale dell’evento, anche altri
rivenditori locali hanno avuto modo di presentare le loro collezioni moda sulla
passerella durante la serata.
L’evento è stato concettualizzato da parte di Loredana Mannina e Maria Giovanna
Martorana Genuardi del Palermo Fashion Blog. Il pubblico dell’evento ha incluso
prominenti membri della comunità locale, compresi amanti della moda, importanti
uomini d’affari e rappresentanti del governo della città di Palermo. Tra gli ospiti dal
maggiore rilievo, nel pubblico si sono accomodati la Prof. Arch. Marisa Garaffa
Filangeri, esperta e studiosa di restauro della Facoltà di Architettura dell'Università
degli Studi di Palermo, la Dr.ssa Carmen Pascarella e la Dr.ssa Milena Raineri,
entrambe funzionarie AdE, e l’Avv. Tiziana Lamberti Presidente AISLA.
La passerella si è estesa lungo svariate stanze del palazzo, ognuna delle quali
contenente bellissimi quadri e capolavori artistici adornanti le pareti. Il già
fantastico ambiente è stato adornato poi dalle collezioni moda di Strand of Silk,
che hanno incluso abbigliamento realizzato da stilisti indiani di alto livello quali
Myoho, Siddartha Tytler, Sougat Paul e VJ Balhara. Gli accessori, firmati Ambar
Paridi Sahai, Meera Mahadevia e Sannam Chopra, sono stati utilizzati come tocco
finale per i look esposti sulla passerella.
Nel corso della serata, Strand of Silk ha avuto il piacere di regalare una borsa da
sera firmata Meera Mahadevia ad un fortunato ospite nel pubblico. In seguito, un
rappresentante ufficiale della città di Palermo ha racchiuso con un discorso finale il
senso della serata, ringraziando e concedendo in regalo un libro contenente
immagini esclusive della citta di Palermo al Direttore Generale di Strand of Silk, il
Sig. Vivek Agarwal.

L’evento è terminato con una passerella finale, che ha visto la partecipazione di
tutte le modelle, accompagnata dagli applausi della platea.
Per Strand of Silk, l’evento si è rivelato come un’occasione perfetta per dare inizio
ad una proficua relazione con il mercato italiano, e l’azienda pianifica nel breve
periodo di puntare allo stesso, creando un sito web focalizzato sul territorio e
selezionando le collezioni più adeguate all’Italia.

Il Palazzo Sant’Elia è stato realizzato su una costruzione risalente ai primi anni del

stato ricomprato dall’amministrazione provinciale della città. I lavori di
ristrutturazione sono iniziati nel 2000, ponendo fine alla negligenza della casa
signorile. Attualmente, Palazzo Sant’Elia ha riguadagnato dignità grazie alla sua
nuova e prestigiosa veste di Museo adibito a mostre temporanee di arte, aperto nel
2007 con l’esibizione "L'Ermitage dello zar Nicola I. Capolavori acquisiti in Italia".

Grazie alla fusione di Fashion Blogger e Fashion Victim, nasce Palermo Fashion

collections included contemporary

featured Indian craftsmanship on
contemporary silhouettes. The
event was held in support of the
Italian charity Aisla.

The beautiful city of Palermo in
Sicily was the perfect setting for an
unforgettable evening that
showcased stunning and unique
fashion. The evening started with
canapés and drinks for the guests
in the foyer of Palazzo Sant’elia and
was followed by the main event, the
fashion show. While Strand of Silk
was the primary sponsor of the
event, selected local Italian brands

The event was conceptualised by
Ms. Loredana Mannina and Ms.
Maria Giovanna Martorana
Genuardi of Palermo Fashion Blog.
The audience for the evening
included prominent members of
the local community including
fashion enthusiasts, business
leaders and government officials
representing the city of Palermo.
The catwalk spanned multiple
rooms of the palace, each of which
featured beautiful paintings and
artwork adorning the walls. The
beautiful and stylish settings were
complemented by collections from
Strand of Silk included styles from
Indian designers including Myoho,
Siddartha Tytler, Sougat Paul and
VJ Balhara. Accessories from
Ambar Paridi Sahai, Meera
Mahadevia and Sannam Chopra
were used to add finishing touches
to the looks.
During the course of the evening,
Strand of Silk gifted a Meera
Mahadevia clutch to one lucky
participant from the evening.
Subsequently, the official
representative of the city of
Palermo made closing remarks
about the evening and presented a
book featuring exclusive pictures of
Palermo to the CEO of Strand of
Silk, Mr. Vivek Agarwal.

The evening concluded with a final
walk by all the models on the
catwalk to the applause of the
enthralled audience.
For Strand of Silk, the event
presented the start of a relationship
with the Italian market and the
company soon plans to target the
Italian market with a local focused
website and collections.

About Palazzo Sant’elia
The Palazzo Sant’elia building has
been derived from a preexisting
sixteenth and seventeenth century

provincial administration.
Restoration began in 2000 and put
an end to the neglect of the historic
stately home. Currently, the
Sant’elia building has regained new
dignity thanks to a new and
prestigious destination museum for
temporary exhibitions of art, which
opened in April 2007 with the
exhibition “L’Ermitage Tsar
Nicholas I . Masterpieces”.
