Un progetto travolgente “This Machine Kills Fascists” - che è anche un disco per CAM Jazz - che ripercorre
la vita, i tempi e l’arte del grande Woody Guthrie: dopo “Tina Modotti”, “Malcom X” e la riuscita parentesi
di “Monk’n’Roll”, Bearzatti e il suo Tinissima Quartet sono alle prese con un altro artista ribelle e irregolare,
che come nessun altro ha cantato l’America delle Grande Depressione, delle lotte sindacali, delle speranze
del New Deal. Cantautore ma anche intellettuale, romanziere e attivista politico, Guthrie racconta di emarginati ed ingiustizie. Bearzatti e il Tinissima Quartet ne colgono con enorme empatia l’amore per il proprio
Paese, la rabbia, la protesta, la passione.
“This Machine Kills Fascists” is an enthusiastic project - which is also a record for CAM Jazz - that retraces the life, times and art of the great Woody Guthrie: after “Tina Modotti”, “Malcolm X” and the success of
“Monk’n’Roll”, Bearzatti and his Tinissima Quartet are grappling with another rebellious and irregular artist
who, unlike any other, sang the America of the Great Depression, of the trade union struggles and of the hopes of
the New Deal. Songwriter but also intellectual, novelist and political activist, Guthrie described the marginalized
and the injustices. Bearzatti and Tinissima Quartet seize with great empathy the love for his country, the anger,
the protest and the passion.

Improvisation, research, and freedom represent the creative center of Parker - Kaucic’s duo, which promises
an amazing performance. Evan Parker is a true giant; he was among the first to release European music from
American models thanks to the Free Jazz break through. His language is autonomous and endorses also the
non-educated European musical traditions. With Anthony Braxton and Steve Lacy he has examined in depth the
solo performance dimension, but he does not lack active experiences with ensembles such as the London Jazz
Orchestra and the Globe Unity Orchestra, among hundreds of collaborations and recordings. At Jazz&Wine Parker
converses with another celebrated name of improvisation: Zlatko Kaucic, percussionist of the Slovenian Collio
who trained in Zurich, Barcelona, Portugal and Holland and who is now a spokesman for one of the most revolutionary languages in the world of contemporary jazz; he worked and still works with the biggest names in the

Il suono di Jan Garbarek è inconfondibile: dopo decenni di carriera incondizionata e planetaria - fatta
di centinaia di concerti e collaborazioni discografiche ai vertici della musica mondiale - la personalità
di Garbarek è qualcosa di assoluto che trascende il già labile confine dell’universo jazz. Da Keith Jarrett
all’Hilliard Ensemble (solo per citare le sinergie più continuative e lontane nei generi) i lavori di Garbarek
sono nelle classifiche jazz, classica o pop: firma eccellente dell’ECM, è stato da sempre uno degli artisti
di punta dell’etichetta. Garbarek è anche un maestro nel comporre e nell’improvvisare: la sua musica
lascia respiro, suona semplice e complessa allo stesso tempo, è innodica, rada, giocosa e seria; intensa. A
Cormòns è accompagnato da Brüninghaus, al suo fianco da molti anni, dal brasiliano Daniel e dall’ospite
d’onore Trilok Gurtu, maestro indiscusso, titolato più volte “miglior percussionista” (Downbeat), colui che
ha unificato i confini musicali tra Oriente ed Occidente.
Jan Garbarek’s sound is unmistakable: after decades of unconditional and planetary career - made of hundreds
of concerts and record collaborations with leading musicians worldwide - Garbarek’s personality is unlimited,
going beyond the already evanescent border of the jazz universe. From Keith Jarrett to Hilliard Ensemble (only to
name the most continuous synergies, as well as the most distant ones) Garbarek’s works are in the jazz, classical
or pop charts: ECM’s excellent author, he has always been one of the leading artists of the label.
Garbarek is also a maestro at composing and improvising: his music is far-reaching, it sounds simple and
complex at the same time, it is hymnody-like, sparse, playful and serious; intense.
In Cormòns he is accompanied by Brüninghaus, who has been at his side for many years, by the Brazilian Daniel
and by the guest of honor Trilok Gurtu, the undisputed master, appointed several times as “Best Drummer”
(Downbeat), the one who unified the musical borders between East and West.

Yeronimus Kaplan è un dj e performer che si aggira tra Hot Jazz, Swing, Ragtime, Blues, Mambo, Calypso e
altri generi con una dotazione quantomeno “originale”. Al grido di “Low Fidelity Guaranteed!” le musiche
di Kaplan escono da una serie di dischi a 78 giri, fatti girare rigorosamente a manovella senza il supporto
della rete elettrica, da una coppia di grammofoni, a tromba interna, His Masters Voice 101 del 1927.
Un balzo all’indietro, per far tornare “le orecchie” - e le attitudini all’ascolto - all’inizio dello scorso secolo.
Yeronimus Kaplan is a DJ and performer who deals with Hot Jazz, Swing, Ragtime, Blues, Mambo, Calypso and
other genres with a quite “original” equipment. To the cry of “Low Fidelity Guaranteed!”, Kaplan’s music is a
playlist of shellac 78 rpm records, exclusively played by turning the crank without the support of a power grid
using two gramophones His Master’s Voice 101 of 1927. A leap back in time, to get “the ears” - and our way of
listening - back to the beginning of last century.

Emile Parisien - poco più che trentenne ma già apprezzatissimo in tutta Europa (vincitore di molti premi
tra cui il Talent Jazz Sacem, il Prix Django Reinhardt, più volte il Victoire du Jazz) - ha al suo attivo oltre 250
concerti e più di 15 incisioni. Dopo l’adattamento per pianoforte e sassofono de “Le metamorfosi notturne”
(quartetto per archi di György Ligeti dei primi anni Cinquanta), con il pianista italo-francese Roberto Negro
decide di unirsi al mondo elettro-percussivo di Michele Rabbia - eccezionale percussionista italiano dalle
infinite e geniali risorse, un virtuoso costruttore di suoni e di ritmi - per un nuovo lavoro in trio, interamente
composto dallo stesso Roberto Negro. Il linguaggio è lirico e contemporaneo, incentrato sulla forma del
discorso musicale. Di Negro si dice: “è abitato dalla poesia” (Télérama), “un narratore che sorprende di
continuo lo spettatore” (Jazz Magazine).

Emile Parisien - in his early thirties but already appreciated all over Europe (winner of many awards including
the Talent Jazz Sacem, the Prix Django Reinhardt, repeatedly Victoire du Jazz) - has to his credit more than 250
concerts and more than 15 recordings. After the adaptation for piano and saxophone of the “Métamorphoses
Nocturnes” (string quartet by György Ligeti of the early Fifties), together with the French-Italian pianist Roberto
Negro, he decided to join the electro-percussive world of Michele Rabbia - exceptional Italian percussionist with
endless and brilliant resources, a virtuous manufacturer of sounds and rhythms - for a new trio work, entirely
composed by Roberto Negro. The language is lyrical and contemporary, focusing on the form of the musical
discourse. About Negro it is said: “he is inhabited by poetry” (Télérama), “a narrator who constantly surprises
the audience” (Jazz Magazine).

Felice Clemente è tra i nomi di punta del jazz internazionale, segnalato dalle migliori riviste e titolare di
collaborazioni insigni in tutto il mondo; da dieci anni collabora con l’argentino “chitarrista espressivo e
pittorico” Javier Pérez Forte che imprime al duo il carattere folklorico e tanguero della sua provenienza
sudamericana. Reduci da una formidabile tournée tra New York e Boston, i due musicisti confermano
il successo di “Evolución” – la più recente incisione – vedendola decretare come “Disco del Mese” da
“Musica Jazz” (a marzo scorso), unica produzione italiana selezionata dalla prestigiosa rivista. Un disco
che è anche la celebrazione del decennale di un duo che ha tre incisioni all’attivo e centinaia di concerti.
“Viandante non c’è cammino, la via si fa con l’andare”, cantava Antonio Machado e così dicono gli artisti
stessi: Ci siamo voltati indietro, osservando la strada fatta e abbiamo scoperto con soddisfazione che i
passi sono stati diversi uno dall’altro. Dopo “Escaleras” prima e “Aire Libre” poi, “Evolución” è un passo
ulteriore che va gustato senza la ricerca di classificazioni o stili ma solo per il fluire libero dalla musica, e
si differenzia dagli stilemi dei lavori precedenti.
Felice Clemente is among the top names of international jazz, recommended by the best magazines. He is also
the creator of worldwide famous collaborations; he has been working for ten years with the Argentine “expressive
and vivid guitarist” Javier Pérez Forte who provides the duo with the folk and tango character of South America.
Just back from a terrific tour between New York and Boston, the two musicians confirm the success of “Evolución”
with the publication of the record which was an insert in “Jazz Music” (last March), the only Italian production
selected by the prestigious magazine. This record is also the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the duo that
counts three CDs and hundreds of concerts. “Wayfarer, there is no way. Make your way by going farther” sang
Antonio Machado and so say the artists themselves: “We turned back, looking at the road we had travelled and
noticed with satisfaction that each step was different from the next”. As for Escaleras first and then for Aire Libre,
Evolución is a further step that should be followed without attempting to classify its style, but as a free flow of
music differing from the schemas of previous works.

Una vera “all star band” che unisce quattro fuoriclasse della scena mondiale. Dave Holland è, su tutti,
maestro assoluto: bassista di Miles Davis in dischi basilari come “In a Silent Way” e “Bitches Brew”, ha
suonato al fianco di Chick Corea, Antony Braxton, Sam Rivers, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock e Thelonious
Monk. Firma ECM (si ricordi l’esordio capolavoro da leader “Conference Of The Birds”) dai primi anni
Settanta, negli ultimi decenni si dedica regolarmente alla propria musica, toccando vertici di assoluto
livello nei quali le sue band raggiungono sound ed energia astrali.
Chris Potter è la “sublimazione” del sax oggi: a meno di cinquant’anni è già un riferimento per generazioni
di musicisti, ha 15 incisioni all’attivo e oltre 100 partecipazioni a cd ed è solista affiatato nelle band di
Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Paul Motian. Loueke, originario del Benin, porta le sue radici nel suono e ancora studente - suona con Blanchard, Hancock e poi con Kenny Garrett, Charlie Haden, Roy Hargrove ma
anche Sting e Santana. Harland - con il suo piglio insieme autorevole e raffinato - è da tempo al fianco di

A true “all star band” that combines four masters of the art worldwide. Dave Holland is, above anyone else, an
absolute master. He was Miles Davis’ bassist in fundamental records of Jazz history such as “In a Silent Way”
and “Bitches Brew” and played alongside Chick Corea, Anthony Braxton, Sam Rivers, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock
and Thelonious Monk. He has been with ECM records (the same label of his masterpiece debut “Conference Of
The Birds”) since the early seventies and in recent decades he has been committed to his music, touching the
absolute summits, where his band reaches astral sound and energy.
Chris Potter is the “sublimation” of saxophones today: less than fifty years old, he is already a reference for
generations of musicians with 15 records, over 100 contributions in CDs and his enthusiastic role as soloist in
Pat Metheny’s band, as well as with Herbie Hancock and Paul Motian. Loueke, a native of Benin, shows his roots
in his sound and - still a student - he played with Blanchard, Hancock and then with Kenny Garrett, Charlie
Haden, Roy Hargrove but also with Sting and Santana. Harland - with his authoritative and refined attitude - has
long been at the side of Holland and Potter and has also played with Joshua Redman, Terence Blanchard, McCoy
Tyner and Charles Lloyd.

Ambrosini proviene da un percorso classico d’alto livello (ha suonato alla Scala e in tutti i migliori teatri
d’Europa con la nyckelharpa, ma anche con violino e viola), Matinier si è invece presto rivolto al jazz
(ancor giovane suona con l’Orchestra Jazz Nazionale di Francia), e insieme - con “Inventio” - hanno consegnato una raccolta di preziose gemme musicali composte ed arrangiate con un risultato travolgente.
Duetti da camera di una fiabesca e meditativa intimità e brani di grande forza ritmica e sonora sono
contenuti nel programma, che si ispira alle sonate barocche di Biber e Bach, alle struggenti melodie di
Pergolesi, fino alle più descrittive melodie nordiche e a pattern ritmici di forza inaudita. Invenzione, improvvisazione, ricerca e innovazione sono alla base dell’excursus musicale dei due autori ed interpreti, tra
musica antica e contemporanea: musicisti virtuosi e coraggiosi, per un accostamento del tutto inusuale e
affascinante, che raggiunge alte vette d’espressività.

Ambrosini comes from a high-level classic path (he played the nyckelharpa, but also the violin and the viola at
La Scala and in all of the finest theaters in Europe), whereas Matinier soon turned to jazz (still young he played
with the National Jazz Orchestra of France), and together - with “Inventio” - they delivered a collection of precious
music gems composed and arranged with an overwhelming result. Chamber duets of a fairytale and meditative
intimacy and songs of great rhythmic and sound force are contained in the program, which is inspired by the
baroque sonatas of Biber and Bach, the moving melodies of Pergolesi but also the more descriptive Nordic melodies and rhythmic patterns of unheard strength. Invention, improvisation, research and innovation are at the
base of the musical focus of the two authors and performers, between ancient and contemporary music: virtuous
and brave musicians, for a most unusual and fascinating approach, reaching high peaks of expressiveness.

Due instancabili ricercatori ai confini tra jazz e sperimentazione sonora, tra ricerca timbrica e poliritmi, tra
armonie dense e frammenti sonori. Due personalità ben distinte che dialogano tra loro con un profondo
interplay e uno spiccato senso della composizione istantanea. Il duo propone principalmente temi di Carla
Bley - o meglio, frammenti di temi, dato il prevalere qui della libera improvvisazione -, temi di Massaria
e improvvisazioni estemporanee. I brani della Bley sono spunti dai quali partire per esplorare a fondo
le potenzialità timbriche e sonore dei propri strumenti e per sviluppare in una via originale gli aspetti
armonici, melodici e ritmici delle composizioni stesse. Le improvvisazioni estemporanee, al contempo,
sottolineano come il confine tra scrittura e improvvisazione sia spesso molto labile ed indefinito, tanto che
tra musica scritta e improvvisata ne risulta un unicum sonoro, che il duo propone in maniera totalmente
nuova. Da sottolineare l’imponente serie di collaborazioni regolari di Bruce Ditmas (che compie 70 anni
nel dicembre 2016): Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, la Gil Evans Orchestra, la band di Enrico Rava con
Massimo Urbani, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Paul Bley, Chet Baker e molti altri.
Two tireless researchers at the borders between jazz and experimental sounds, between timber research and
polyrhythms, between dense harmonies and sound fragments. Two distinct personalities that interact with each
other through a deep interplay and a keen sense of instant composition. The duo mainly presents Carla Bley’s
themes, or rather fragments of them given the prevalence of free improvisation. Bley’s pieces are ideas that
represent a starting point from which to explore in depth the potential of the timbre and sound of their instruments, and to develop the harmonic, melodic and rhythmical aspects of the compositions in an original way. At
the same time, the extemporaneous improvisations show that the line between writing and improvisation is often
very unstable and undefined, so that the result between written and improvised music is a unique sound which
the duo offers in a totally new way. It is imperative to mention the impressive series of Bruce Ditmas’ regular
collaborations (who is turning 70 in December 2016): Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, the Gil Evans Orchestra,
Enrico Rava’s band with Massimo Urbani, Jaco Pastorius, Pat Metheny, Paul Bley, Chet Baker and many others.

Il trio Pericopes+1 apporta influenze del ventunesimo secolo al suo album “These Human Beings”. È un
jazz moderno la cui forza risiede nell’intelligenza delle melodie e nello spirito delle improvvisazioni. Tutti i

“La mia specialità è proprio quella di non essere uno specialista. Sono un musicista classico così come un
musicista jazz. Ma faccio tutto a modo mio”. Per questo il giovane Peirani ha già rivoluzionato il modo di
suonare la fisarmonica e - con il suo coraggio - si è conquistato il Victoires du Jazz e l’ECHO Jazz. Coglie
l’opportunità di vivere in un mondo in cui lo scambio, la conoscenza di culture lontane è alla portata di
tutti. “Cercavo dei musicisti che avessero avuto diverse esperienze e provenissero da diversi background
musicali”. Ecco, dunque - insieme allo spirito affine di Parisien - una band che ha confidenza anche con
R’n’B e Hip Hop (Herne), musica elettronica (Serra) e pop (Paeleman): tutti esprimono personalità forti che
si sono “armonizzate” come un vero essere vivente, deliziosamente “organico” e con un suono come non
si era mai sentito prima. Miniature, suoni arabescati, temi classici di ballata, blues ritmati e polifonia:
“Living Being” è un progetto di giovani leoni che mettono se stessi e la musica alla prova perché - spiega

But I do everything my way”. For this reason young Peirani has already revolutionized the way people play the
accordion and - with his bravery - earned the Victoires du Jazz and the ECHO Jazz. He takes the opportunity to
live in a world where the exchange and knowledge of distant cultures is within everybody’s reach. “I was looking
for musicians who had had different experiences and came from different musical backgrounds”. So here is a
band - together with Parisien’s kindred spirit - that has confidence with R’n’B and Hip Hop (Herne), electronic
music (Serra) and pop (Paeleman): they all express strong personalities that are able to “harmonized” like a true
living being, deliciously “organic” and with a new and unheard sound. Miniatures, arabesque sounds, classic

Quattro Grammy Awards e quindici nomination all’attivo, Rubalcaba è oggi un assoluto riferimento del
pianismo jazz planetario. Nato nel 1963 a L’Havana, Gonzalo assorbe le radici popolari della sua terra,
le coniuga con le giovanili improvvisazioni e con la solida formazione classica, per rivelare presto un
folgorante e inconfondibile talento creativo. A metà degli anni ‘80 incontra la Blue Note e il grande Charlie
Haden, suo mentore ed amico. Con lui inizia quella che è oggi una meritatissima carriera internazionale:
oltre quaranta le incisioni (tra le tante: “Discovery. Live in Montraux”, “Suite 4y20”, “Rapsodia” e i Latin
Grammy “Nocturne” e “Land Of The Sun”), decine i premi e migliaia gli osannati concerti in tutto il mondo
in solo, vari jazz ensemble e imponenti orchestre. Così, oggi, Gonzalo racconta il suo rapporto con Haden,
al quale dedica il progetto che porta a Cromòns: Quando suoni con una persona investi molto e lo stesso
fa l’altro: non conto più il tempo che ho impiegato con Charlie a dissertare, a confrontare la pratica, lo
stile, l’esercizio, a mettere insieme idee, ad ascoltare noi e altri e a commentare ogni passaggio musicale,
a fermarci sui concetti, sui contenuti delle musiche che suonavamo o ascoltavamo. Si impara insieme e in
modo diverso, fino a che i due punti di vista trovano un equilibrio, si fondono.
Four Grammy Awards and fifteen nominations, Rubalcaba is now an absolute reference point for jazz piano
worldwide. Born in 1963 in Havana, Gonzalo absorbed the folk roots of his land, combined them with his youth
improvisations and with his solid classical training, soon to reveal a dazzling and unique creative talent.
In the mid-80s he met Blue Note Records and the great Charlie Haden, his mentor and friend. With him he
began what is now a well-deserved international career: over forty records (among them: “Discovery. Live in
Montreux”, “Suite 4 Y 20”, “Rapsodia” and the Latin Grammy “Nocturne” and “Land Of The Sun”), dozens of
awards and thousands of the acclaimed solo concerts around the world as well as with various jazz ensembles and impressive orchestras. This is how now Gonzalo talks about his relationship with Haden, to whom
the project presented in Cormòns is dedicated: “When you play with someone, you invest a lot and so does
the other: I stopped keeping track of the time spent with Charlie talking, comparing the practice, the style,
the exercise, putting ideas together, listening to us and others and comment on each musical passage or
lingering on the concepts and the content of the music we were playing or listening. You learn together and in
a different way, until the two points of view find a balance, they merge”.

“Made To Break” è il nuovo - e più radicale - progetto del compositore e improvvisatore (oltre che ottimo
clarinettista e sassofonista) Ken Vandermark. Un artista che si avvicina alla propria musica - tra jazz e
improvvisazione - combinando degli elementi sperimentali, da sempre di suo interesse, con l’esperienza
musicale dell’Etiopia, assieme anche alla New Music di John Cage e Morton Feldman. Ne risulta un quadro
compositivo variabile che può essere ristrutturato performance dopo performance e che tratta melodia,
suono, ritmo in un contesto ogni volta unico e irripetibile. Questo approccio creativo quasi aleatorio dona al
progetto una flessibilità e un’immediatezza senza precedenti. Gli strumenti del quartetto (batteria, basso
elettrico, elettronica e ance) concedono a Vandermark una straordinaria tavolozza di suoni da esplorare
con ogni composizione, ma è la grandezza artistica individuale delle persone coinvolte nell’ensemble quella che alla fine concede un’energia così spontanea e dinamica al progetto.

experimental elements, his constant interest, with the music of Ethiopia alongside the New Music ideas of John

The result is a compositional framework that can be restructured for every performance and which deals with
melody, sound, and rhythm in a completely unique way. This creative and almost random approach gives the
project an almost unprecedented flexibility and immediacy. The instruments of the quartet (drums, electric bass,
electronics, and reeds) have given Vandermark an extraordinary palette of sounds to explore with each composition, but it is the individual artistic greatness of the people involved in the ensemble that provides the project
with such a dynamic and spontaneous energy.

chitarrista jazz”. Elogiato come “incredibile” e “magico ragazzo prodigio” per il suo sound unico e per la
ricerca di una nuova voce creativa, Nir Felder è senz’altro un unicum nel suo campo.
Nel 2010 ha formato il suo gruppo con il quale ha fatto il tutto esaurito nei diversi concerti newyorkesi e in
tutta Europa. Sono seguite le residenze al New York’s 55, dove è stato accolto come uno dei migliori talenti
in città, insieme a Kevin Hays, Aaron Parks, Aaron Goldberg, Uri Caine, Greg Osby, Chris Potter, David
Binney, Ben Street, Matt Penman, Scott Colley, John Patitucci, Keith Carlock e moltissimi altri. Quando
prendevo la chitarra - racconta - non importa con quale ensemble, mi sentivo come se stessimo suonando
qualcosa che le persone del pubblico chiedevano, che mancava alla loro esperienza musicale: in quel
momento vivevano qualcosa di eccitante, e di molto, molto intenso.
“A wordless lyricism; a lofty but approachable concept involving the vagaries of hope and historical memory.

hailed Felder, while another American press also called him “the next big jazz guitarist”. Praised as “incredible”
and “magic boy prodigy” for his unique sound and his search for a new creative voice, Nir Felder is certainly
unmatched in his field. Felder formed his own group in 2010, performing several sold-out shows in New York City
and around Europe. A residency at New York’s 55 Bar followed, where Felder was welcomed as one of the city’s
greatest talent and was joined by Kevin Hays, Aaron Parks, Aaron Goldberg, Uri Caine, Greg Osby, Chris Potter,

Il grande Bill Frisell, con “When You Wish Upon a Star”, continua a stupire, e ci guida attraverso le musiche dei classici del cinema e della televisione, e dona una nuova forma alla relazione emotiva al nostro
“guardare”. Frisell (la cui musica è stata scelta in alcuni grandi film come “Finding Forrester” e “The
Million Dollar Hotel”) con i suoi compagni di viaggio, reinventa qui capolavori di sempre, come il brano
che dà il titolo alla performance, ma anche “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “The Shadow of Your Smile”, “Moon
River”, “You Only Live Twice”, e il suo stesso tema composto per lo speciale televisivo di “Gary Larson’s
Tales from the Far Side”.

Björn Meyer, a lungo bassista dei Ronin di Nik Baertsch e fondatore dei Bazar Blå, dal 2008 è membro
stabile del quartetto del tunisino virtuoso suonatore di oud, Anouar Brahem. Samuel Rohrer, che ha suonato con musicisti come Peter Herbert, Wolfert Brederode, Claudio Puntin, Frank Möbus, Skuli Sverrisson,
Vincent Curtois, è tra i più noti nomi della scena europea dell’improvvisazione.
Klaus Gesing - anch’egli con Anouar Brahem dal 2008 - ha suonato e registrato per molti anni con la
cantante inglese Norma Winstone ed è in questi anni impegnato con il suo loop project “reaLTime”.
Oggi sono assieme per dissolvere i confini tra improvvisazione e composizione: esplorano suoni e ritmi
molto concreti e insieme anche paesaggi sonori sperimentali, mentre si spostano in modo quasi impercettibile tra musica improvvisata e materiali musicali strutturati in partiture. Un senso naturale dello
scorrere della musica e dello scivolare dei temi fluisce nei loro lavori senza fatica e ricco di idee.

mondi sensoriali grazie anche all’elettronica e all’arte visiva. Dopo l’esperienza del collettivi underground
a Chicago, si trasferisce (negli anni Duemila) in Brasile, dove inventa paesaggi sonori sperimentali e inauditi “ascoltando” la foresta amazzonica e il suo fluire di onde sonore, elettriche, magnetiche. È a São Paulo
che incontra Mauricio Takara e Guilherme Granado, artisti che reinventano le tradizioni musicali brasiliane
con energie e sperimentazioni d’avanguardia. A loro - musicisti di inconfondibile personalità - spetta lo
sviluppo ritmico e l’elaborazione elettronica del sound del trio.
La musica dei São Paulo Underground non è di facile classificazione: incarna un affascinante mix musicale che va dal “rumore cosmico” di Sun Ra ai ritmi e al fraseggio della samba, maracatu, rock, fino alla
tradizione del free jazz. Come spiega Mark Corroto su AllAboutJazz, la loro musica è un approccio moderno
al tropicalismo brasiliano, che tiene conto dei progressi nella manipolazione del suono. È musica di strada
direttamente dall’avanguardia sotterranea del Brasile ed è confusamente meravigliosa.
Rob Mazurek is - as well as cornet and trumpet player - a composer and improviser who explores new sensory
worlds thanks to electronics and visual art. After the experience of the collective underground in Chicago, he
moved to Brazil, where he invented experimental and unheard soundscapes “listening” to the Amazon rainforest and its flow of electrical, magnetic and sound waves. It is in São Paulo that he met Mauricio Takara and
Guilherme Granado, two artists who reinvented the Brazilian musical tradition with energy and avant-garde
experimentation. It is up to them - musicians of unmistakable personality - to develop the rhythm and to process
the electronic sound of the trio. The São Paulo Underground music is not easy to classify: it embodies a fascinating musical mixture ranging from Sun Ra’s “cosmic noise” and rhythms and phrasing from samba, maracatu,
rock and free jazz traditions. As Mark Corroto (AllAboutJazz) says, their music is “a modern approach to Brazil’s
Tropicalia, that takes into account advances in sound manipulation and engineering. It is street music from the
Brazilian subterranean avant-garde and it is confusingly wonderful”.

Blondeau ha suonato in diversi festival italiani
(Buskers Festival di Ferrara e VeneziaSuona) e
all’estero (Irlanda, Austria, Inghilterra, Slovenia,
Albania). Al suo fianco il batterista e percussionista Lorenzo Fonda è produttore di colonne sonore di cortometraggi, e collabora nei tour, tra gli
altri, di Stef Burns, Hiram Bullock e Dean Brown.
Lorena Favot e Gaetano Valli, da molti anni insieme in svariati progetti musicali, presentano
un programma variegato e divertente che attinge con grande prevalenza a quelli che furono i
cavalli di battaglia del celebre duo cui ispirano
le loro interpretazioni, Ella Fitzgerald e Joe Pass.
Il loro è un repertorio sterminato: da Gershwin
a Jobim, fino ai più noti standard americani ed
europei del Novecento.
Dallo swing al moderno concetto di duo, Comar
e Guidolin guidano l’ascoltatore nel groove più
intenso della storia del jazz. Matteo, dopo il diploma di primo livello in chitarra jazz a Ferrara,
ha studiato a Siena Jazz e con Cerri, Chiarion,
Fresu. Gianfranco, sulla scena pop e rock e fusion da anni, è insegnante Lizard e si esibisce in
tutta Europa con diverse band.
Lorraine Favot and Gaetano Valli, for many years
together in various musical projects, are presenting
a varied and entertaining program that draws with
great prevalence from the fortes of the famous duo
that inspired their performances, Ella Fitzgerald
and Joe Pass. Their repertoire is endless: from Gershwin to Jobim and the best-known American and
European standards of the twentieth century.
From swing to the modern concept of duo, Comar
and Guidolin guide the listener into the most intense groove in jazz history. After achieving his bachelor degree in jazz guitar in Ferrara, Matteo studied at
Siena Jazz and with Cerri, Chiarion, Fresu. Gianfranco, who has been active on the pop, rock and fusion
scene for years, is a Lizard teacher and performs
around Europe with various bands.

Simon Blondeau is an eclectic artist from Monfalcone, who has played in several Italian festivals (Ferrara Buskers Festival and VeneziaSuona) and abroad (Ireland, Austria, England, Slovenia, Albania).
At his side the drummer and percussionist Lorenzo
Fonda is a soundtracks producer for short films, who
also collaborates in the tours, among others, of Stef
Burns, Hiram Bullock and Dean Brown.

Giulio Scaramella si è diplomato con il massimo dei voti e ha conseguito la laurea in jazz
al conservatorio Tartini di Trieste e ha ricevuto
recentemente il premio Franco Russo. Giampaolo Mrach, dopo anni di percorso “classico” di
fisarmonica si è dedicato alla musica jazz prima
sotto la guida di Franco Vallisneri e poi sotto la
guida di Glauco Venier. È stato premiato come
miglior fisarmonicista al concorso internazionale
Alpe Adria.
Luciano Gherghetta aka Mr. Lucky è un bluesman di culto e con una lunghissima carriera
alle spalle. È presente sulla scena blues nazionale a partire dagli anni ‘80, suonando con i
Sons Of Blues e con i Model T Boogie di Milano,
con i quali è in varie tournée e accompagna artisti come Zora Young, Lurrie Bell, Phil Guy, Deitra
Farr. Con lui a Cormòns alcuni nomi storici della
scena blues del Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Giulio Scaramella graduated with honors and earned a degree in Jazz at the Tartini Conservatory in
Trieste and recently he received the Franco Russo
award. Giampaolo Mrach, after years of “classic”
accordion path, has devoted himself to jazz music
first under the guidance of Franco Vallisneri and
then under the guidance of Glauco Venier. He was
awarded “Best Accordion Player” at the international Alpe Adria competition.
Luciano Gherghetta aka Mr. Lucky is a cult bluesman with a long career. He has been present on
the national blues scene since the ‘80s, playing
with the Sons Of Blues and the Model T Boogie
from Milan (with whom he is in many tours) and he
played with artists such as Zora Young, Lurrie Bell,
Phil Guy, Deitra Farr. With him in Cormòns there will
be some historical names of the Friuli Venezia Giulia
blues scene.

Tony Kozina e Katy Maurel provengono da esperienze professionali di alto livello e si uniscono
qui in un sofisticato e originalissimo duo. Il loro
repertorio spazia dalla musica pop a raffinati
jazz standards, fino al sound coinvolgente della
bossanova brasiliana. Il duo reinterpreta brani di
Stevie Wonder, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Sting,
Nora Jones, Tom Jobim, George Benson, Mina.
DJ sets di vinili monofonici e gommalacche a
78 giri, simpaticamente aggirati da una coppia
di giradischi automatici a valigetta, vintage,
miscelati per un ascolto ormai dimenticato e
superato, pre-stereofonico (ma non per questo
preistorico!), nella totale Bassa Fedeltà del Monoaural, supportato dai famigerati Stereo 606
fonovaligia, opportunamente modificati.
Tony Kozina and Katy Maurel come from high-level
professional experiences and are getting together
here in a sophisticated and highly original duo.
Their repertoire ranges from pop music to fine jazz
standards and the enthralling sound of Brazilian
bossa nova. The duo reinterprets songs by Stevie

Sempre in bilico tra l’acquerello e il computer,
Beppe Giacobbe è tra le firme più prolifiche e
interessanti dell’attuale scenario dell’illustrazione tra Europa e Stati Uniti. Dopo l’Accademia
di Brera e la School of Visual Art di New York fa
incetta di pubblicazioni e di premi tra libri per
ragazzi, copertine, racconti, campagne pubblicitarie di pregio.
Sabato 29 ottobre al Teatro Comunale di Cormons, l’artista dedica un’etichetta da vino alla
kermesse: l’opera originale viene proiettata su
grande schermo prima del concerto di Bill Frisell, alla presenza in sala dell’autore.
Luca d’Agostino - fotografo ufficiale del festival e
importante firma nazionale e internazionale della
fotografia di spettacolo - coordina uno staff di
professionisti della macchina fotografica (Luciano Rossetti, Fabio Gamba, Elia Falaschi, Luca
Valenta, Alice BL Durigatto, Francesco Fratto,
Maurizio Zorzi, Tommaso Rosa; e quest’anno al
festival anche il grande Pino Ninfa!) per immortalare i migliori momenti delle performance nelle
cantine e nelle dimore storiche. Prima dei concerti
serali in teatro, i dieci scatti più rappresentativi
di ogni giornata vengono proiettati su grande
schermo, restituendo i momenti più caratteristici
e affascinanti del festival.
Sotto la guida di alcuni giovani giornalisti già
attivi nella redazione di Messaggero Veneto
Scuola, alcuni studenti delle Scuole Secondarie
di Secondo Grado della Provincia di Gorizia sono
chiamati a seguire gli eventi del Festival e a restituirne l’atmosfera in forma giornalistica. Articoli,
reportage, recensioni e racconti: giovani reporter
crescono, a servizio della musica, del territorio e
dell’informazione.
Constantly hanging in the balance between watercolor and computer, Beppe Giacobbe is among the
most prolific and interesting labels of the contemporary illustration field between Europe and the
United States. After the Brera Academy and the
School of Visual Art in New York he raked up awards
and publications including children’s books, covers,
short stories and valuable advertising campaigns.
At Jazz&Wine of Peace 2016, the artist will dedicate
a wine label to the kermesse: the original work will
be projected on the big screen before Bill Frisell
concert on Saturday, October 29th at the Teatro
Comunale of Cormons. The author will be on site.
Luca d’Agostino - official photographer of the festival and major national and international name of
performing arts photography - coordinates a staff
of professional photographers (Luciano Rossetti,
Fabio Gamba, Elia Falaschi, Luke Valenta Alice BL
Durigatto, Francesco Fratto, Maurizio Zorzi, Tommaso
Rosa; and this year at the festival also the great Pino
Ninfa!) to capture the best moments of the performances in the wineries and historical houses. Before
the evening concerts at the theater, the ten most representative snapshots of each day will be projected
onto a big screen, revealing the most distinctive and
fascinating moments of the festival.
Under the guidance of some young journalist, already
working in the editorial staff of Messaggero Veneto
Scuola, some students of the Secondary Schools of
the Gorizia Province will follow the events of the Festival and recreate its atmosphere in journalistic form.
Articles, reports, reviews and short stories: young
reporters grow at the service of music, territory and
information.

Itinerario ciclistico “slow” adatto a tutti, soprattutto agli amanti del vino di qualità e dei
morbidi paesaggi collinari!
Percorre infatti strade e piste ciclabili a cavallo
dei rilievi collinari situati alle spalle di centri
famosi per la produzione vinicola. Il percorso è
adatto praticamente a tutti. Sfrutta alcuni tratti
delle nuovissime piste ciclabili (su sede riservata e fondo in materiale eco-compatibile) che
percorrono in lungo e in largo la valle del Preval
ed il Collio. Il sistema viario è curato dalla Provincia di Gorizia e prende il nome di “Slow Collio,
un paesaggio da bere”.
Tra i luoghi toccati o sfiorati da segnalare la
chiesetta di S. Marco, l’amena località della
Subida con la sua chiesetta, il Santuario della
B. Vergine del Soccorso, Villa Russiz (con la nota
azienda vinicola) e il castello di Spessa (con annesso campo di golf). E naturalmente l’escursionista viene ugualmente “rapito” - oltre che dai
paesaggi - dalle degustazioni dei pregiati vini
locali e della gastronomia tipica - dei quali Roncùs è un vero esempio d’eccellenza - sintesi e
incrocio delle culture italiana, slovena e tedesca.

“Slow” bike itinerary suitable for everyone,
especially for lovers of fine wine and soft hilly
landscapes!
The ride takes you along roads and cycle paths
over the hills located at the back of famous wine
production centers. The route is suitable for just
about everyone. It exploits some sections of the
newest cycle paths (set up on reserved location
and made of eco-friendly material) that run
the length and breadth of the valley of Preval
and Collio. The road system is managed by the
province of Gorizia and is called “Slow Collio,
a landscape to drink”. These are among the
places touched by the route: the little church of
“San Marco”, the pleasant Subida area with its
church, the “Beata Vergine del soccorso” shrine,
Villa Russiz (with its well-known winery) and
Spessa Castle (with the annex golf course). The
day-tripper will obviously be enchanted not only
by the landscape, but also by the tastings of local wines and typical food - of which Roncus is a
true example of excellence - at the crossroads of
Italian, Slovene and German cultures.

Lucia Pillon si occupa del riordino e dell’inventariazione di archivi storici: socia ordinaria
dell’Associazione nazionale degli archivisti italiani e, nel 2004, nominata Ispettore archivistico
onorario. A questa attività ha affiancato la cura
di mostre e la realizzazione di iniziative editoriali
riguardanti perlopiù la storia della sua città,
Gorizia.
Lucia Pillon is in charge of the reorganization
and the inventory of historical archives, she is
a member of the National Association of Italian
Archivists and was appointed Honorary Archivist
Inspector in 2004. She also curates exhibitions
and follows publishing initiatives mainly concerning the history of her town, Gorizia.

A bus trip through the Collio will lead to the discovery of the places that were the set of “Zoran,
il mio nipote scemo” by the director from Gorizia
Matteo Oleotto. The movie went down in history
in the region (and was rewarded by the public as
well as the critics also at international level) and
is - “MyMovies” states - like a good wine from
Friuli, you drink it and it leaves you with a lingering sweet and round taste. Aside from the stops
to explore the meaningful places experienced by
Zoran and uncle Paolo Bressan, there will be
food and wine tasting of typical local products.
The critic and film journalist Nicholas Falcinella
will skillfully guide the tour.

UN TEATRO PER AMATRICE

A THEATRE FOR AMATRICE
Durante la seconda “Giornata del Jazz italiano”,
nata in origine per L’Aquila, poi divenuta “Il Jazz
italiano per Amatrice” dopo il recente terremoto
del Centro Italia, è stata indetta una campagna
di crowdfunding in favore della ricostruzione del
Teatro di Amatrice. Controtempo - che ha partecipato nuovamente a L’Aquila alle attività della
giornata nazionale - si unisce all’appello del Jazz
italiano ed esorta tutti a donare quanto possibile
affinché lo storico Teatro Garibaldi di Amatrice
possa tornare ad essere luogo di cultura, di aggregazione, di riferimento per quella comunità.
During the second “Italian Jazz Day”, originally established for L’Aquila and later renamed
“Italian Jazz for Amatrice” after the recent earthquake in central Italy, a crowdfunding campaign was issued for the reconstruction of the
Amatrice theater. Controtempo - who participated again in the activities of the national day in
L’Aquila - joins the call of Italian Jazz and encourages everyone to donate as much as possible so
that the historic Teatro Garibaldi of Amatrice can
once again become a place of culture, of aggregation and a reference point for that community.

rispettino l’alto livello della proposta musicale

percorso nuovo verso l’assimilazione di cultura e
turismo attraverso musica jazz di alta qualità ed
eccellenze enogastronomiche, storico architettoniche e paesaggistiche dei territori regionali. Un
turismo culturale slow da condividere e da far
crescere insieme.
Italia Jazz&Wine is now a cultural format duly
registered and protected, it is also a new Cultural Association as well as a “best practice”
protocol (developed by Controtempo). Indeed a
national movement which aims at matching the
criteria of quality and organization respecting
the highest level of musical offer and promoting the true territorial excellence as explained
in the “best practices”. A new path towards the
integration of culture and tourism through high
quality jazz music, culinary, historical and architectural excellence and landscape features of

LE CANTINE
Dal 1648, anno della sua fondazione, la Tenuta
di Angoris ha saputo custodire all’interno delle
sue terre l’incedere policromo del tempo in ogni
sua forma: lo testimoniano gli alberi secolari del
parco, le mura di Villa Locatelli, la diagonale di
cipressi che attraversa la Tenuta e i ricordi delle
centinaia di persone che qui hanno trascorso la
propria vita e dedicato il proprio lavoro. Il tempo
ad Angoris viene scandito anche dai battiti jazz
che animano a fine ottobre Villa Locatelli. La degustazione prevede Spumanti Metodo Charmat
Modolet e formaggi a latte crudo di Pezzata Rossa Italiana prodotti dalla Fattoria Zoff.
La Tenuta, immersa nel verde del suo parco secolare su un’estensione di 5 ettari, è una dimora storica sita nel Collio Goriziano che vede le sue origini
nel 1630. Nel ‘900 è il conte Sigismondo Douglas
Attems Petzenstein a perpetrare nel nome la nobile
discendenza dell’ antico casato e promosse la realizzazione nel 1963 del Consorzio Collio, ne creò una
D.O.C. della quale rimase presidente fino al 1999. La
totale ristrutturazione della proprietà si deve a Paolo
e Virginia Giasone Attems Petzenstein che dal 2004
hanno avviato la riqualificazione dell’intera Tenuta. In
occasione dell’incontro con Jazz&Wine of Peace i vini
verranno forniti da Conti d’Attimis Maniago di Buttrio.
Qui “il vino è poesia imbottigliata”. Lo direbbe
Robert Louis Stevenson se fosse passato per di
qui, ma è anche “uno dei maggiori segni di civiltà nel mondo”, lo diceva Ernest Hemingway nei
suoi appunti di viaggio. Ora nella nostra cantina,
appassionati di vino, artisti, scrittori, musicisti
s’incontrano, si scambiano esperienze, si raccontano la propria storia. A raccogliere tutto ciò in un
calice ci sono la scelta accurata di sette etichette, tre rossi e quattro bianchi, selezionati così che
gli aromi, la struttura e la complessità esprimano
al meglio i terreni dai quali sono stati generati.
Castello di Rubbia è composto da 13 ettari di
terreno coltivato a vite, il castello storico in fase
di ristrutturazione circondato da 170 ettari di
bosco e sedici chilometri di trincee e cannoniere
sotterranee della Grande Guerra.
Castello di Rubbia ha scelto di valorizzare i vitigni autoctoni del Carso quali il Terrano, la Vitovska e la Malvasia, che rappresentano nel modo
migliore le peculiarità del territorio. La terra
restituisce uve che danno vita a vini secchi, corposi e strutturati, che da epoche remote accompagnano la gastronomia carsica e regionale.
Since 1648, the year of its foundation, the Angoris
Estate has managed to preserve within its lands the
polychromic stride of time in all its forms: witnesses
of all this are the ancient trees of the park, the walls
of Villa Locatelli, the cypresses that diagonally cross
the estate and the memories of hundreds of people
who have spent their lives here and dedicated their
energy. The time in Angoris is also marked by the
jazz music that animates the end of October in Villa Locatelli. Tasting is providing Spumanti Metodo
Charmat Modolet and cheese made from raw milk
from Fattoria Zoff.
The estate, surrounded by a centuries-old park on an area
of 5 hectares, is a historic house located in Collio Goriziano and it dates back to 1630, as the key brick above the
entrance to the park of the Villa still says. In 1900 Earl
Sigismondo Douglas Attems Petzenstein carried on the
noble lineage of the ancient and aristocratic family and,
in 1963, he promoted the creation of the Collio Consortium
and he created a D.O.C. of which he was president until
1999. The Estate has been totally restored and renovated
by Paolo and Virginia Giasone Attems Petzenstein, who in
2004 have started the upgrading of the entire estate. During Jazz&Wine of Peace Conti d’Attimis Maniago (Buttrio)
will provide their wines.
If he had ever passed through here, Robert Louis
Stevenson would have said that here “wine is a
bottled poetry”, while Ernest Hemingway said in
his travel notes: “it is one of the main signs of
civilization in the world”. Now, in our winery, wine
lovers, artists, writers and musicians meet, exchange experiences and tell their own story. All this is
gathered in a glass thanks to the careful choice of
seven labels, three red wines and four white wines,
selected so that their aromas, structure and complexity best express the lands from which they were
generated.
The Castle of Rubbia includes a 13 hectares vineyard and the historic castle which is being restored. The latter is surrounded by 170 hectares of
woodland and 16 kilometers of trenches and underground embrasures from the First World War.
The Castle of Rubbia has decided to promote the
native vines of the Carso, such as Terrano, Vitovska
and Malvasia which best represent the distinctiveness and nature of the area. The vines provide grapes producing dry, full-bodied wines, which have
complemented the local gastronomy for centuries.

Le origini del Castello di Spessa risalgono al
1200 e per centinaia di anni è stato dimora dei
signori della nobiltà friulana: a partire dal ‘500
illustri famiglie si avvicendarono nella proprietà
di Spessa, prima i Dorimbergo, poi i Rassauer
e la famiglia Della Torre Valsàssina che, vantando una discendenza da Carlo Magno, ne fu
proprietaria per più di 300 anni. Nel 1987 grazie
alla famiglia Pali è divenuto il cuore del complesso d’hotellerie Castello di Spessa Resort con
campo da golf, l’Hosteria del Castello, l’Azienda
vinicola, hotel e appartamenti tra le vigne e un
raffinato rRistorante.
Livio Felluga dopo 5 generazioni di vignaioli
ha il grande privilegio di essere considerato il
“patriarca” della viticoltura friulana. Consacrò
il suo amore per la collina acquisendo i primi
vigneti a Rosazzo. Oggi l’Azienda copre un’estensione collinare di 155 ettari a vigneto. Dai
raffinati varietali come Friulano, Pinot Grigio,
Ribolla gialla, Sauvignon agli eleganti uvaggi
come Terre Alte, Abbazia di Rosazzo e Illivio, ai
potenti rossi come Sossò e Refosco dal peduncolo rosso. Da alcuni anni, i vigneti storici della
millenaria Abbazia di Rosazzo sono stati affidati
alla cura sapiente della Livio Felluga.
Jermann affonda le sue radici in tempi lontani:
nel 1881 il capostipite e fondatore Anton arriva
in Friuli Venezia Giulia, continuando l’attività vitivinicola precedentemente intrapresa in Austria
e Slovenia. Silvio Jermann negli anni ‘70 aggiunge un tocco speciale, portando l’impresa ai vertici italiani e internazionali. Eccellenza, qualità e
forte legame con il territorio: questi i punti di forza, ancora oggi, dell’azienda, che si estende su
150 ettari. Alla sede storica di Villanova di Farra,
si affianca la cantina di Ruttars capace di unire
tradizione e modernità e insieme rappresentano
un vero fiore all’occhiello del territorio.
L’insediamento in quel di Zegla degli avi di Renato, risale alla seconda metà del 1800. Qui il bisnonno Franz vinifica con ottimi risultati i pochi
grappoli prodotti, da tocai, pinot, malvasia ma
soprattutto ribolla gialla. Lontano dai protocolli
di vinificazione globalizzati, la sola intenzione di
Keber è di esaltare le peculiarità di mineralità e
territorialità, con lunghi affinamenti: ne risultano vini con grande equilibrio che si donano nel
bicchiere con suadente eleganza, sviluppo “verticale”, al sorso piacevolezza e progressione di
sapori dalla sensazione “tridimensionale”.
The origins of Castello di Spessa date back to the
13thcentury. Since the 16th century it has been
inhabited by a succession of prestigious families
such as the Dorinbergos, the Rassauers and the
Della Torre Valsàssina family (this family was descendant of Charlemagne and owned the castle for
more than 300 years). In 1987, the Castle thanks to
Pali’s family, developed to a complex named Castello di Spessa Resort with a golf course, the Hosteria
del Castello, Hotel and Restaurant gourman and
some delicious Apartments.
Livio Felluga, whose great privilege is to be regarded
as the “patriarch” - over 5 generations - of viticulture in the region, sealed his love for the hill country
with the farsighted purchase of the first Felluga
vineyards at Rosazzo. Today, the estate extends with
155 hectares planted to vine. From refined varietals
such as Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon to elegant grapes as the Terre Alte, Abbazia di
Rosazzo and Illivio and the powerful red wines Sossò
and Refosco. Today, management of the historic vineyard of millenary Rosazzo Abbey is firmly in Livio
Felluga’s skilled hands.
Jermann has its roots in ancient times: in 1881 the
forefather and founder Anton arrived in Friuli continuing the winery business that he had previously
undertaken in Austria and Slovenia. Silvio Jermann,
in the 70’s has been giving a special touch, taking
the company to success in wine circles both in Italy
and worldwide. Excellence, quality and strong ties
with the territory: these are still today the strengths
of the company, extending over 150 hectares. In addition to the historic location of Villanova di Farra,
there is also the Ruttars winery, that combines tradition and modernity, and together they represent a
real feather in the cap of the territory.
The settlement in Zegla of Renato’s ancestors dates
back to the second half of the 19th century. Here,
great-grandfather Franz made wine with excellent
results from grapes of Tocai, Pinot, Malvasia and
mainly Ribolla Gialla. Far from globalized winemaking protocols, the only Keber’s aim is to enhance
the mineral and territorial features of the product
with long refinement: the resulting wines are of
great balance presented with sensual elegance, developing “vertically” and providing a pleasantness
and an almost “three-dimensional” progression of
flavors.

LE CANTINE
Gli ettari vitati di questa azienda sono raccolti in
piccoli appezzamenti, intorno alla sede aziendale e sulle colline circostanti: cru con microclima e
terroir unici e specifici. Tra queste vigne si fa la
qualità dei vini, con pochi essenziali trattamenti
con rame e zolfo. In cantina il lavoro è di rifinitura, con fermentazioni a lievito indigeno, attenti
a non danneggiare il prezioso raccolto della
vendemmia. Marco Perco, raccogliendo l’eredità
della sua famiglia, ha saputo dagli anni ’90 perseguire un unico obbiettivo: vini longevi capaci
di esprimere al massimo questo territorio.
The hectares of vineyard are gathered in small
plots around the corporate headquarters and the
surrounding hills: crus with a unique and specific
microclimate and soil.
The quality of their wines is made in these vineyards, with just a little, essential treatment using
copper and sulphur. Work in the wine cellar is dedicated to finishing with local yeast fermentations,
while the utmost care is taken to avoid damaging
the precious fully matured groups. Marco Perco,
picking up the legacy of his family, has had a single aim since the ‘90s: to make long-lived wines
expressing this territory to the fullest.

È nella secolare Tenuta Villanova di Farra d’Isonzo la sede della più antica distilleria in regione
e della produzione di vini d’eccellenza. Immersa
nel verde fra le DOC Isonzo e Collio, Tenuta Villanova è una delle pochissime aziende in Italia che
distilla le proprie vinacce in maniera artigianale
vicino alle cantine dove vengono vinificate le
uve, caratteristica da cui i prodotti non possono
che trarre beneficio.
The centuries old Tenuta Villanova in Farra d’Isonzo
is home to the oldest distillery in the region and to
the production of excellent wines. Deep in the green
hills of DOC Isonzo and Collio, Tenuta Villanova is
one of the few companies in Italy that distills their
marcs in the traditional way, near the wineries where the grapes are turned into wine. The resulting
products can only benefit from such peculiarity.

Da 20 anni, questa villa è la sede della Fiera:
qui vengono esposti e possono essere degustati
tutti i vini che superano le selezioni e vengono
ammessi al banco di mescita.
La villa di Toppo Florio si può definire una residenza patrizia del Friuli orientale del primo settecento, con i caratteri della sobria e imponente
dimora padronale seicentesca, ma anche simile
ad una fastosa e signorile villa veneta. L’importanza della villa è dovuta anche al vasto parco
di pertinenza, che dalla collina scende fino alla
pianura lungo la strada che porta a Manzano.
This villa has been the location of the Fair for 20
years: all the wines that pass the selections and
are admitted to the bar counter are exposed here
and can be tasted. The Toppo Florio villa can be
defined as a patrician residence of Eastern Friuli
dating back to the early eighteenth century, with
the characters of the sober and imposing seventeenth-century manor house, but also comparable
to a sumptuous and elegant Venetian villa. The
importance of the villa is also due to its broad park,
which runs down from the hills to the plains along
the road to Manzano.

Era il 15 febbraio 1868 quando, con le nozze tra
Elvine Ritter von Zahony e Theodor de La Tour,
nasce Villa Russiz. Dote di Elvine, Villa Russiz
si rivela essere una zona vocata soprattutto
alla coltivazione della vite ed alla produzione di
vini di grande qualità. Così si racconta lo staff:

The sixteenth century Vila Vipolže offers breathtaking views on the green hills of the Brda region
