Week of November 8, 2015
Greetings from Father Sam
I know many times we say “ look how fast time goes by.” Before we realize it, we will begin the season of Advent ( Nov.
29). Advent is a joyous preparation time; the first two weeks
we look forward to the second coming of Jesus and remind
ourselves to be ready for that grand occasion when the fullness of God’s Kingdom will be ushered in. The second two
weeks of Advent recall the first coming of Jesus with his
birth at Bethlehem.
As we prepare ourselves for the Christmas Feast, we not only
buy gifts & decorate but we remember the poor and we always have a non –perishable food collection for The Sisters
of Mercy ( Mother Teresa’s nuns ) who have a dining room
for the poor, so let’s get ready for that wonderful Christmas
gift that we give to the Sisters and their guests.
Our gift to the Sisters and friends will be on Sunday Nov.
29,2015 the First Sunday of Advent.
Let’s start preparing now so we can make this the biggest gift
ever!!!!

Development and Peace
Fall Action Campaign 2015
This year Development and Peace’s education and awareness
campaign asks all parishioners to “Create a Climate of
Change” to protect our world today and for future generations. Pope Francis urges us to take immediate action to address the root causes of climate change and to help people,
particularly the poorest of the global south, to adapt to its impacts.
Actions that each one of us can take now include:
1. Change our lifestyle by making a personal commitment to
reduce our carbon footprint like taking public transportation
and buying locally.
2. Change our community by supporting local green initiatives in our schools, parish and municipality.
3. Change our country by calling on our government to be a
leader in abandoning harmful fossil fuels and transition to renewable energy.
Together let’s create a climate of change by education ourselves about this important issue and make a commitment by
signing the action cards addressed to our Prime Minister
which are found at the D & P table located at the back of the
Church.

a Betlemme.
