Il Paese
Sidari è un paese situato a nord ovest dell’isola di Kerkyra in un’area collinare.
Ciò che rende Sidari una meta di interesse per i turisti è il Canale dell’Amore.
Questo paese è di notevoli dimensioni, si è sviluppato sul mare
e racchiude più spiagge diverse tra loro.
In principio i paesi erano due, di piccole dimensioni, collegati tra loro dalla spiaggia lungo
la quale in seguito hanno costruito fondendo i due paesi in uno solo.
Luogo amato dagli inglesi per la vita notturna e perché frequentato da molti giovani, offre
tutti i servizi utili per i turisti dagli alloggi ai negozi, dai trasporti ai tour organizzati.
La Spiaggia
Sidari è una località turistica molto ampia e sviluppata e appartengono
a questo paese più di una spiaggia o caletta.
Le principali spiagge sono tre, una delle quali il Canale dell’Amore.
Le restanti due spiagge sono la prima una lunghissima lingua di sabbia molto turistica
perché corre lungo l’intero paese e l’altra una baia più piccola e molto bella di fronte
a cui ci sono delle rocce levigate dal vento.
Quest’ultima è sicuramente più particolare come ambientazione ed è più raccolta.
Il Canal d’Amour è una spiaggia molto particolare. Per raggiungere questa spiaggia bisogna
superare il paese e andare verso Peroulades e sulla vostra destra troverete
delle indicazioni poco appariscenti che indicano il Canale.
Come muoversi
Sidari è collegata a Corfu, Roda e altri paesi vicini tramite
i pullman che fanno più corse giornaliere.
E’ possibile inoltre affittare auto, jeep, motorini o biciclette
per muoversi autonomamente sull’isola.
I negozi
Sidari è ricca di negozi di ogni tipo: supermarket, internet point, pasticcerie, negozi che
vendono souvenir, agenzie di viaggio, gioiellerie ed altri ancora.
Il divertimento
Per la sera si può scegliere tra le taverne greche o i ristoranti con cucina internazionale e
poi ascoltare musica in uno dei tanti pub o ballare in un club.
Molti negozi rimangono aperti fino a tardi e consentono uno shopping notturno...
Di giorno oltre alle attività presenti in spiaggia ci sono i tour verso le isole
al largo di Corfù tra cui le Diapondia e Paxi, verso l’area di Paleokastritsa o verso l’Albania.
Si possono anche fare escursioni a cavallo o immersioni.
The Town
Sidari is a town located in the north west of the island, in a hilly region.
What makes Sidari a desirable destination for tourists is the Canal D’Amour.
The town is quite large, it extends along the seafront and includes a number
of different beaches. Initially, there were two small towns, which were linked by the beach.
Over time, construction work along the beach fused the two towns into one.
Beloved by the British because of its night life and because it is the destination of choice
of a large number of youngsters, it offers all services to tourists; accommodation, shops,
transportation and organised tours.
The Beach
Sidari is a very extensive and developed tourist destination, numerous beaches and coves
are part of the town.
There are three main beaches, one of which is the Canal D’Amour.
The remaining two beaches are a long sandy strip, very popular with tourists because it
runs along the whole length of the town, and a smaller, very beautiful bay,
fronted by windswept rocks.
The latter is certainly a more unique and intimate setting.
The Canal D’Amour is a very special beach. To reach it, you must
leave the town and head towards Peroulades. On your right, you will see a discreet sign
that points towards the Canal.
Transportation
Sidari is linked to Corfu, Roda and other nearby towns by buses running
at regular intervals during the day.
It is also possible to rent cars, 4x4s, mopeds or bicycles to roam
the island independently.
The Shops
Sidari has plenty of shops of all types: supermarkets, internet cafes,
cake shops, souvenir shops, travel agencies, jewellers and many more.
Entertainment
For your evenings, you can choose between Greek taverns or international cuisine
restaurants, and then listen to music in the many pubs or go dancing in a club.
Many shops stay open until late and allow night shopping...
During the day, besides the beach activities, there are tours to the islands off Corfu’s coast,
such as the Diapontia and Paxi island groups, to the area of Paleokastritsa towards
Albania.
Horseback riding tours and diving trips are also available.
