The great Italian poet D’Annunzio in his late
twenties. Rome, 1887: we find him a bored
husband and father, with another child on the
way. He charms women with his seductive
manner and elegant words. Megalomaniac,

him, but who then tires of the relationship and
abandons him. D’Annunzio is left a prisoner of
his own presumption of irresistible womaniser.
