Research activity within the following projects:
* The Rise of Turkey and the New Mediterranean: the project analyzes how energy could
represent a major tool to strengthen the economic, political and social integration in the
Euro-Mediterranean region with a particular focus on Turkey, a crucial country both for the
EU energy security and for the regional balance of power in the aftermath of the Arab spring.
* MEDPRO (Mediterranean Prospects): the project evaluates the hydrocarbons and
renewable energy outlook of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries, and
presents the prospects for the creation of a more integrated Mediterranean energy market
in the framework of the emerging external dimension of the EU energy policy.
* POLINARES (Policy for Natural Resources): the project examines how tension and conflict
may undermine future global peace and economic development, and explore new modes of
behavior which promote an appropriate balance between competition and collaboration.
Research interests: Natural gas and electricity markets analysis, Energy economics, Energy
geopolitics, EU energy policy, Mediterranean energy issues.
