MARIEN. Si è specializzato come accompagnatore
per cantanti. Ha lavorato insieme ai famosi Andreas
Schmidt, Harry van Berne, Johannette Zomer e la
leggendaria Guus Hoekman. Ha girato il mondo intero,
dal Mozarteum di Salzburg alla Carnegie Hall a New
York, al Concertgebouw di Amsterdam, esibendosi,
inoltre, in Europa, Giappone, Stati Uniti d’America e
Canada. È stato il pianista accompagnatore alle
masterclass di Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Cora Canne
Meijer e David Wilson-Johnson. Marien ha al suo attivo
un grande numero di registrazioni radio e televisive.
Insieme al baritono Charles van Tassel, ha registrato i
Songs di Charles Ives e la produzione liederistica di
Matthijs Vermeulen per la Donemus (the Complete
Matthijs Vermeulen Edition). Marien van Nieukerken è
direttore artistico e fondatore dell’International
Student LiedDuo Competition dalla sua fondazione nel
2009, concorso a cadenza biennale, la cui ultima
edizione si è svolta nell’aprile 2015.Van Nieukerken
ricopre attualmente l’incarico di Coach Vocale presso il
conservatorio ArtEZ, dove coordina la classe di
Liederistica oltre ad essere docente di Pianoforte e
Accompagnamento Pianistico.
HARRY. Cantante, violoncellista e direttore
d’orchestra ha studiato allo Sweelinck Conservatory di
Amsterdam. Nel 1985 si diploma in canto,
approfondendo in seguito gli studi con Anthony Rolfe
Johnson a Londra. Harry è un solista richiesto
nell’opera, nell’oratorio e nel repertorio cameristico
vocale. È stato invitato ad esibirsi in Europa, Stati Uniti,
in Medio Oriente, Giappone e Sud America. Fa parte
del Gesualdo Consort Amsterdam e del Quink Vocal
Ensemble. Insieme al pianista & coach Marien van
Nieukerken, Harry ha condotto svariati workshop e
masterclass su varie tematiche vocali nei Paesi Bassi.
Capo-Dipartimento di Studi Vocali nonché docente di
canto al Conservatorio di Amsterdam fino al 2014,
insegna adesso al Conservatorio ArtEZ - The Institute
of the Arts. Harry è coach professionale per gruppi
cameristici di ogni genere.
MARIEN. Specialised himself as an accompanist for
singers. He has worked with many well-known singers,
including Andreas Schmidt, Harry van Berne, Johannette
Zomer and the legendary Guus Hoekman. He toured
worldwide from Mozarteum in Salzburg, Carnegie Hall in
New York and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam;
moreover throughout Europe, Japan, the United States and
Canada. He has accompanied master classes given by
Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Cora Canne Meijer and David
Wilson-Johnson, amongst others. Marien has worked on a
large number of radio and television recordings. Together
with the baritone Charles van Tassel, he recorded 35
Charles Ives songs on CD and the Lieder of Matthijs
Vermeulen (Donemus, the Complete Matthijs Vermeulen
Edition). Marien van Nieukerken is artistic director and
founder of the International Student LiedDuo Competition
that was held since 2009. The latest edition of this biennial
contest for music students was in April 2015.Van
Nieukerken is currently a vocal coach at the ArtEZ
Conservatory, where he is also director of the Lied class
and professor of piano and song accompaniment.
HARRY. A singer, cellist and conductor. Studied at the
Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, in 1985 he

van Nieukerken Harry conducted several workshops
and masterclasses with various subjects in The
Netherlands. He was Head of the Voice Department of
the Conservatory of Amsterdam until 2014 and
professor of Voice in Amsterdam at the same institute and
still works as professor of voice at the ArtEZ
Conservatory of Music. Harry is a professional coach for
ensembles (vocal and instrumental) of any kind.
