7 Rocca/Museo storico sez. ‘800
“MAURO GELFI”
Nella Rocca di Bergamo, la sezione ottocentesca del
Museo storico è dedicata alla storia della città e del
territorio in età risorgimentale.
In the fortress (Rocca), the nineteenth-century section of
the historical museum tells the story of the town and its
territory during the Risorgimento.
8 EX Convento di san Francesco/
Museo Storico sez. Mostre
Esempio pregevole di architettura conventuale
medievale, nell’ex Convento di San Francesco si
possono ancora visitare i chiostri, la sala capitolare
e i numerosi affreschi databili a partire al Trecento.
Attualmente ospita mostre temporanee, gli uffici, gli
archivi, la biblioteca del Museo storico di Bergamo.
Visitors to the former Convent of San Francesco, a fine
example of medieval monastic architecture, can still
see the cloisters, chapter house, and numerous frescos
dating back to the fourteenth century. The complex
currently houses temporary exhibitions, offices, archives
and the library of Bergamo’s Historical Museum.
9 Civico Museo Archeologico
Qui si possono ammirare, tra le altre cose, i resti di una
domus romana venuta alle luce poco più in là, in via
Arena.
Exhibits include the remains of a domus romana (roman
house) discovered a little bit further along in Arena street.
10 Museo Scienze Naturali “Enrico Caffi”
Museo noto per la presenza di antichissimi fossili, tra i
quali il cervo scoperto nel 2001 in Val Borlezza.
Museum renowned for the presence of ancient fossils,
including “Cervus Elaphus” found in Borlezza Valley in
2001.

12 Casa natale di Gaetano Donizetti
Al civico 14 dell’antico Borgo Canale, nello storico
palazzo, monumento nazionale, Gaetano Donizetti
nacque nel 1797.
Gaetano Donizetti was born in 1797 in the historic
palace located at number 14 of the ancient Borgo
Canale, now a national monument.
13 Museo e Tesoro della Cattedrale
In questo nuovo museo si possono ammirare la
riscoperta dell’antica Cattedrale di San Vincenzo, gli
scavi archeologici di epoca romana e il tesoro del
Duomo di Bergamo.
This new museum includes the rediscovered ancient
Cathedral of San Vincenzo, roman excavations and
Bergamo Cathedral treasure.
15 ORTO BOTANICO “lorenzo rota”
L’Orto Botanico di Bergamo è un istituto museale dove
sono ricercate, studiate, coltivate ed esposte collezioni
vegetali che rappresentano testimonianze sia del regno
vegetale sia dell’uomo, del suo sapere e del suo agire
in relazione alla natura.
The “Lorenzo Rota” botanical garden is a research
institution where plant collections are studied, grown
and exhibited to the public. The collections represent the
history of the plant kingdom and mankind, showcasing
what people have learned about plants and their
interaction with nature over the centuries.
