Fai soffriggere le cipolle con un po’ di olio in un tegame largo e con il bordo alto circa 10 cm. Quando saranno appassite, salale, aggiungi un pizzico di peperoncino e mescola. Unisci i pomodori schiacciandoli e lasciali cuocere 7-8 minuti, finché la salsa si sarà un po’ addensata. Quindi aggiungi il pane, metà del brodo vegetale, gli spicchi d’aglio e il basilico.
