Naturale
La lana Merino è una fibra completamente naturale prodotta durante tutto l’anno
dai 70 milioni di pecore Merino australiane, che consumano una semplice miscela di
acqua, aria, sole ed erba.
Natural. Merino is an entirely natural fibre grown year-round by Australia’s 70 million
Merino sheep, consuming a simple blend of water, air, sunshine and grass.
Biodegr adabile
A differenza della maggior par te delle fibre ar tificiali, quando la fibra Merino viene
smaltita, essa si decompone nel terreno nel corso di alcuni anni ritornando nel ciclo
naturale, al contrario della maggior par te dei prodotti sintetici il cui processo di
smaltimento è estremamente lungo.
Biodegradable. Unlike most man-made fibres, when Merino fibre is disposed of,
it naturally decomposes back into the earth in a matter of years. Most synthetics on
the other hand, are extremely slow to degrade.

poi disperderlo. Questo
significa che nei climi caldi o
durante un'attività fisica intensa
la lana Merino a contatto con il
corpo contribuisce
efficacemente a mantenere la
pelle asciutta. In questo modo il
microclima a contatto con la
pelle è meno saturo di umidità,
evitando sensazioni poco
piacevoli per chi indossa il capo
e riducendo le probabilità che
il vapore formi gocce di sudore
sulla superficie della pelle.
Breathability. Merino fibre can
absorb up to 35 per cent of its
dr y weight in moisture vapour.
Therefore, in hot climates or
during strenuous exercise, a
Merino garment close to skin
actively transfers moisture vapour
molecules away from the body.
This causes the micro-climate
above the skin to become less
satured with vapour, thereby
making the wearer less clammy
and it less likely for the vapour
to form sweat droplets on the
skin’s surface.

E lastica e resistente
Grazie allo strato protettivo naturale delle fibre di lana Merino, pulire i capi risulta
più semplice. Le ultime innovazioni appor tate ai prodotti in lana Merino rendono i
capi adatti al lavaggio in lavatrice a 40° con un ciclo “lana” e all’asciugatura in
asciugabiancheria a temperatura ridotta.
Le fibre di lana sono così resilienti ed elastiche che possono essere piegate 30.000
volte senza rischio di rottura o danno. Ogni fibra di lana ha una naturale elasticità e
ondulazione che le permette di allungarsi anche di un terzo per poi tornare alla
posizione originaria. Ogni fibra di lana è composta da milioni di “molle elicoidali” che
si allungano invece che rompersi. Per questo la lana è estremamente resistente e con
caratteristiche anti piega. Per misurare la velocità con cui una fibra perde la metà
della sua resistenza originale dopo essere stata esposta a elementi come acqua, luce
solare, si usa un test standard di durevolezza della fibra. Ancora una volta, la lana
ottiene i migliori risultati.
The natural protective layer of Merino wool fibres makes washing the clothes simpler
than ever. The latest innovations in Merino wool products now allow items to be machine
washed on a wool programme at 40°, and then tumble dried on a low setting.
Elastic and resilient. Wool fibers are so resilient and elastic that thay can be bent
30,000 times without danger of breaking or damage. Ever y wool fiber has a natural
elasticity and wave or crimp that allows it to be stretched as much as one third and
then spring back into place. Each wool fiber is made up of millions of “coiled springs”
that stretch and give rather than break, and so wool is extremely durable and is
naturally crease-resistant. A standard fiber durability test is used to measure how quickly
a fiber loses half of its original resistance after being exposed to elements such as
water, sunlight, etc. Once again, wool obtains the best results.

Odour Resistance. Merino stays fresher for longer. Merino wool’s structure and moisture
absorption properties reduce the tendency for build-up of body odours. Its complex chemical
structure locks the odour molecules within the fibre and only releases them on washing.
