Compilation nate con lo scopo di rendere disponibile su CD tutte le canzoni non pubblicate
all'interno di album dal 1962 al 1970. Contengono tutti i singoli (comprese le versioni
alternative di Get Back e Let It Be), le versioni in tedesco di She Loves You e I Want To
Hold Your Hand, i 4 brani dell'EP Long Tall Sally del 1964 e la versione originale di Across
The Universe, originariamente uscita in No One's Gonna Change Our World, una
compilation benefica di artisti vari.
Due titoli nuovi che segnano la fine del vinile e inaugurano l'epoca
digitale: ci sono tutti i brani ufficiali non compresi negli album inglesi,
il che rende per la prima volta disponibili tutte ma proprio tutte le
canzoni dei Beatles pubblicate dalla EMI.
