Luce senza catene – non è sempre una buona
idea liberare la bestia. Ma se si tratta, come in
questo caso, della multi-talentuosa Roxxane
Fly, con i suoi geni straordinari, allora è assolu­

beast. However, if, as in this case, we are talking
about the extremely talented Roxxane Fly with its
outstanding genes, it is a matter of absolute
necessity to cast off the chains and let the luminaire go free.

L’alba di una nuova era nei rapporti con la luce
– Liberare la luce dal cavo può sembrare banale
e poco spettacolare a prima vista. Ma la nuova,
ultraportatile Roxxane Fly, in veste di pioniera
di una nuova generazione di luci a LED, non solo
inaugura nuove aree di illuminazione, ma rompe
anche con le convenzioni precedenti nel rapporto con la luce. Compatta, leggera, flessibile,
potente e completamente indipendente: queste sono solo alcune
delle sue molte doti. La sua lotta

Releasing light from its cable may at first seem
trivial and unspectacular. But the new ultra-­
portable Roxxane Fly is the pioneer of a totally
new generation of LED luminaires that not
only opens up new areas of lighting but also
breaks with existing conventions in the way we
handle light. Compact, light, flexible, a strong
lighting performance and completely unfettered
– these are just a few of the luminaire‘s many
talents. Its struggle to overcome gravity could
almost be described as a super­power if
magnetism were not involved.

size and low weight
make it a master of
manoeuvrability and your
constant companion. Powerful integrated magnets on the bottom even hold it upside-down
or keep it in place on vertical metal surfaces.
The non-slip, soft plastic coating on the bottom
keeps it steady on smooth and inclined surfaces.
In addition to armrests, tables and parquet floors,
its favourite places include not only the metal
surfaces of USM furniture and console tables but
it also likes to hang around on steel supports or
on its side between books on a shelf. The 3D head
joint can be moved through
270° in three planes,
whereby it not only
outdoes any owl but
also provides bright
light exactly where
it is wanted.
Roxxane Fly
è completa. La sua
dimensione compatta e
leggera la trasforma in un’artista in
movimento e in una compagna fissa. Potenti
magneti integrati nella parte inferiore la tengono
anche a testa in giù o su superfici metalliche verticali. Il rivestimento antiscivolo in morbida plastica che ricopre il fondo fornisce l’aderenza sulle
superfici lisce e inclinate. Oltre a braccioli, tavoli
e pavimenti in parquet le sue ubicazioni preferite
sono le superfici di mobili USM e le console, ma
può anche essere appesa intorno a supporti in
acciaio o in verticale tra i libri sulla mensola.
La testa snodata in 3D regolabile di 270° in tre
livelli non solo illumina ogni dettaglio nascosto
nell’ombra, ma porta la sua luce brillante esattamente dove si desidera.

Roxxane Fly is the new member of
the Roxxane family of LED luminaires.
It shines with a luminous flux of 400 lumens,
thereby almost reaching the same level as
its cable-bound sister, the Roxxane Home ­
– an amazing amount of light for such a compact,
battery-powered luminaire. At 2700 Kelvin, the
36 LEDs with only 5,5 Watt generate a very cosy
and warm light with an excellent colour rendering
index of CRI > 90. Thanks to the high-quality
lithium-ion rechargeable battery, the luminaire
provides 4 to 20 hours of pure light, depending
on the dimming level ­selected. The only time
the Roxxane Fly has to be put on the leash for
a short time is when it is being charged –
the leash in this case being
a micro-USB cable supplied with
the luminaire. It goes without
saying that the integrated
battery has a long lifetime
while also featuring a
high performance
and low selfdischarge.

Even if the youngest offspring in the Roxxane
family of luminaires is different from its siblings
