La 16° prova del mondiale Motocross si è corsa sulla pista inglese di
Matterley Basin, una bellissima location che ha ospitato il festival del
cross, in pista sono scesi dai piccoli con il 65 fino alla Mx1.
Nella Mx2 Ivo Monticelli e Samuele Bernardini non sono riusciti a
raccogliere quello che si meritavano. Samuele è incappato in una caduta
durante la qualifica del sabato che gli ha procurato un forte dolore al
ginocchio già infortunato, a causa di questo non ha preso parte alle gare di
domenica. Monticelli è stato vittima di una bruttissima caduta
fortunatamente senza conseguenze ma che lo ha condizionato per tutto la
gara.
Le manche della domenica hanno visto Ivo Monticelli non sui suoi
standard e complice anche troppi errori nel cercare di rimontare posizioni
ha chiuso la sua gara nelle posizioni basse delle classifica, senza la brutta
caduta del sabato Ivo avrebbe potuto ottenere un buon risultato.
Ottima prestazione di Tane Leok nella Mx1, il pilota estone sta ritrovando
la sua grinta e velocità, nella manche di qualifica Tanel è sempre stato
nella zona alta della classifica e se non fosse stato per un piccolo errore
nella parte finale della manche avrebbe fatto meglio del 10° posto.
La prima manche ha visto Tanel partire senza esagerare e con un ritmo
costante ha scalato la classifica chiudendo in 10° posizione.
Gara 2 Leok è partito subito molto forte, Tanel se non fosse stato per una
caduta che gli ha fatto perdere tempo avrebbe potuto migliorare la sua
nona posizione finale.
In classifica generale Tanel Leok ha chiuso in 9° piazza, dimostrando che
il team è sulla buona strada per poter migliorare i risultati.
Solo due settimane per ricaricare le energie e poi si andrà in Olanda per
l'ultimo Gp della stagione sulla pista di Lierop.

“Questo penultimo GP della stagione ci ha portato dei buoni
piazzamenti nella MX1. Tanel Leok ha sempre corso concentrato e
con un buon passo gara. Inoltre è riuscito a portare a casa due buoni
risultati sempre nei primi dieci. Male invece la MX2 dove ancora una
volta non siamo riusciti a fare punti. Adesso andremo in Belgio a
preparare la prossima gara che sarà su sabbia.”

“Ancora un GP da dimenticare. Il sabato sono caduto forte rovinando
completamente la moto da gara ed ho preso anche una forte botta alla
testa. Oggi ho provato a spingere ma ho fatto molti errori e poi non
sono riuscito a restare concentrato come di solito e la mia velocità ne
ha risentito.”

“Grandi sensazioni oggi su un tracciato che a mio avviso è il migliore
in Europa. In gara uno ho chiuso nono ma senza una caduta potevo
fare meglio. Nella seconda ero messo bene, ero ancora nono ma nel
tentativo di prendere Simpson sono scivolato di nuovo e ho chiuso al
decimo posto.”

The 16th round of the Motocross World Championship has taken place on
the English track of Matterley Basin, a wonderful location that hosted the
motocross festival with competitions from the 65cc class to the Mx1 class.
In Mx2, Ivo Monticelli and Samuele Bernardini didn’t succeed in
improving their performances: Bernardini crashed during the Qualifying
Race and he didn’t race on Sunday because of the sharp pain to his knee;
while Monticelli had a very bad crashed that affected his races.
On Sunday, Ivo Monticelli wasn’t at his top form because of Saturday’s
bad crash and he made many mistakes trying to catching up positions. Ivo
didn’t score any points in both races.
In mx1, Tanel Leok had a great performance. The Estonian rider is
recovering his speed and his determination. In the Qualifying Race, Tanel
immediately entered the top ten and he finished 10th. On Sunday, in the
first heat, Tanel caught up some positions thanks to a consistent pace
finishing 10th. In the second heat, Leok started really fast and although he
crashed, he finished 9th. In the GP overall classification Tanel Leok
finished 9th, showing that the team’s performance is continuously
improving.
Now Ricci Racing Team have just two weeks two relax and the last GP of
the season is taking place in Lierop.

“I’m satisfied with the Mx1 class. Leok was really focused and he had a
good pace. Moreover, he succeeded in entering the top ten twice. In mx2,
we still didn’t score any points. Now we’re going to Belgium to get ready
for the next sandy GP.”

“On Saturday, I had a very bad crash, I even destroyed my bike and I hit
hard my head. Today I tried to recover but I made lots of mistakes and I
wasn’t focused as usually and that affected my speed.”

“Great feelings today on the track that is to me the best in Europe. In
the first race, I finished 9th, but if I hadn’t crashed, I would have
finished better. In the second heat, I was 9th but while trying to catch
up Simpson I crashed again and I finished 10th.”
