Missione Italia di Medici Senza Frontiere (MSF) ha iniziato le sue attività nel 1999 quando MSF si è
resa conto che le stesse persone curate ed assistite a migliaia di chilometri di distanza si trovavano
spesso in condizioni di precarietà e bisogno proprio in Italia. Le attività svolte durante questi anni
sono state rivolte prevalentemente nel fornire assistenza medica alle persone immigrate presenti sul
territorio, anche senza regolare permesso di soggiorno
Recentemente, in Italia come in altri Paesi dell’area mediterranea (Libia, Egitto, Grecia), gli
interventi si sono articolati in base all’emergenza di bisogni specifici.
Nel 2015 circa 322000 migranti e richiedenti asilo sono arrivati in Europa attraverso il
Mediterraneo; di questi, approssimativamente 153850 sono sbarcati in Italia (numeri UNHCR fino al
dicembre 2015).
In Italia i migranti senza permesso sono ospitati in diverse strutture (CPSA, CAS, CARA, SPRAR) che
sono di competenza del Ministero degli Interni e sono gestiti da organizzazioni private (con e senza
scopo di lucro, cooperative, chiese etc) attraverso capitolati con le Prefetture locali. Nel
Nell’Ottobre 2015 e’ stato avviato un progetto nato come centro di riabilitazione specifico con
l’obiettivo di fornire attività diagnostico-terapeutiche di consultazione medica alle persone vittime di
tortura.
Da dicembre 2015, MSF ha aperto un nuovo progetto di “shelter” e assistenza sanitaria di base ai
confini con la Slovenia (Gorizia).
Dopo explorative missions condotte nell’estate 2015 nella provincia di Trapani dove sono stati
ospitati circa 2000 ospiti nei CAS, da Gennaio 2016 MSF ha deciso di sviluppare anche in questa
provincia un progetto di supporto psicologico. A Catania MSF aprirà un centro medico residenziale
per cure post-acute per richiedenti asilo.
Nel Mediterraneo, all’inizio del anno 2015, visto i numeri di morti senza precedenti e la mancanza di
risposta in termini di salvavataggio in mare, MSF ha deciso di avviare una missione di salvataggio
delle persone che attraversano il Mediterraneo alla ricerca di un rifugio in Europa. Durante lo
scorso anno, le 3 barche di MSF (Bourbon Argos-MSF OCB, Dignity-MSFOCBa, Phoenix-MSFOBA)
hanno prestato soccorso a circa 20.000 persone.
Nel 2016, MSF progetta di riavviare la stessa attività di salvataggio nel Mediterraneo, e di rinforzare
la sua capacità di rispondere ai bisogni di assistenza medica, psicologica e socio-legale delle
personne sbarcate in Italia.

Main objectives
Assist the logistics coordinator in specific activities and assume some delegated tasks,
according to his/her instructions and complying with MSF standards, in order to ensure a
proper logistic management in capital and provide support to logistic activities in the projects.
Responsabilities and activities










Plan and supervise the logistics within the coordination base (repairs, equipment
maintenance, stock management, cleanliness…), in order to ensure the best operational
working conditions in the capital.
Check and ensure the maintenance of MSF premises and facilities, as well as the general
water supply, electrical, communication and security conditions. In this sense, make
inspection visits to assess the maintenance needs of facilities.
Perform maintenance of logistics equipment for cold chain, energy, IT and radio
communications, in particular:
 Checks the quality of the work carried out on electrical, water and
communication installations.
 Inventories and the reallocation of equipment.
 Inform to the logistic coordinator in case of any further needs concerning
technical equipment, in order to have an adequate running.
Support the logistics coordinator and the deputy supply coordinator in organizing the ordering
and transport of goods to the different projects, in order to comply with their needs in terms of
quality and timelines.
Prepare orders for his sector activity, do the follow-up, check their proper reception and state.
Carry out local purchases and ensures that the line manager is aware of any problems linked
to the quality or availability of the items to be purchased.
Assist the logistics coordinator with the check up and supervision of the proper functioning of
the computers and other communication and IT equipment, in order to ensure a continuous
and appropriate flow of information and communication.
Support the Logistic coordinator in the planning and ensuring an appropriate emergency
preparedness and response capacity (stocks, contacts, transport means), and can participate in
any emergency activity or exploratory visit, in order to ensure giving appropriate assistance to
beneficiaries.
Inform the logistics coordinator in case of any major issue and draw-up all required reporting,
in order to keep updated and reliable information that will ease decision-making.
Together with the logistics coordinator, analyse the ICT needs of the coordination, according
to MSF policies and procedures.
o Provide network security to ensure that appropriate access control is used internally
on the LAN/WLAN’s, and to prevent intrusions.
o Provide a 1st level help desk support and training to users (on software, hardware,
telecom problems, etc.).
o Provide corrective and preventive maintenance activities (check-up, cleaning, etc.).
o Update and upgrade all equipments on the network are standardized with respect to
virus protection, software, hardware and network configuration.

o Execute security management protocols (backups, anti-malware updates and software
patching; firewall protection, etc.).
Provide logistic support to VoT project and to VoT SLAF, in:
o Support logistic activities within the RHD project:
 Organizing and supervising the mobile unit vehicle (camper) RHD project
(drive the camper during RHD screening activities, vehicle maintenance,
follow up vehicles registration and insurance, fuel consumption, etc.), in
order to ensure coping with the transportation and movement needs.
 Setup mobile working space during outdoor RHD activities
o Checking and insuring a proper maintenance of the VoT clinic, as for the other MSF
premises in capital.

Essential secondary education plus further training.
 Essential two years of previous experience in similar jobs.
 Desirable with MSF or other NGOs.
Italian (mother language), English (fluent).
Advanced computer literacy (network, IT configuration, security, word,
excel, internet).
