Copy of Confirmation/baptism certificate of God-parents. Dear Fr. Xavier, May you be blessed on your Birthday with a year full of Love, Joy and Happiness. “Happy Birthday” From your devoted Staff & Parishioners Did You Know…? Today’s first reading, from the Book of Genesis, tells us about the creation of man and woman, and that they are meant for the good of the other. Jesus Himself refers to this passage when explaining that God’s purpose in creation was the lasting union of husband and wife. The Church teaches that marriage is a sacrament: it occurs through, with and in Christ and it is holy. The partners are called to total self-giving to each other, made possible through the grace of Christ. Marriage between two baptized persons cannot be dissolved, divorce is not an option. Instead, the Church may declare a marriage invalid if it is found that an essential element was missing from the beginning. This declaration is known as “annulment”, and the process is handled by Catholic tribunals. Catholic law lists 12 impediments that could lead to an annulment. Examples are a lack of full consent, like misunderstanding of the meaning of marriage, or the marriage was not celebrated in a valid form (priest and 2 witnesses), etc. The Catholic tradition of giving a ring at the wedding has its origin in the meaning of the circle: it has no beginning and no ending, and thus, it is a sign of undivided, total giving, that cannot be broken. "St. Norbert Parish International Food Bazaar" - Sunday Oct 14, 2012 - 1:00 pm CWL St Norbert’s Council is holding our second annual Food Bazaar on October 14 right after the 12 noon mass. The first food bazaar last year was sponsored by the Filipino community of St. Norbert Parish. This year, we are inviting all parishioners to this fall event. Calling all parishioners - Italians, Filipinos, Spanish, Oriental and other ethnic members of our parish, we would like to show case your favorite dish at this event. We are looking for cooked food donation to be sold at the food bazaar. We will be selling tickets for this event - Prices will be: Combo of 3 dishes $10.00 Dessert Plate - $6.00 Weather permitting, we will have picnic tables set up at the lawn of the church or at the church hall so that food can be eaten or consumed here or taken home. We are looking forward to a full participation to this fall fund raising event. All proceeds will go directly to the Maintenance Fund of St. Norbert’s Parish. Gesù cambia scena (Mc 10,1): va in Giudea. .
