■ Una delle problemtiche ricorrenti
nel mondo della trasformazione è
legato all’ancoraggio di inchiostri e
colle sui materiali flessibili. Questo
fenomeno è dovuto in parte alle crescenti velocità delle macchine da stampa e accoppiatrici
ma anche, e soprattutto, all’utilizzo di inchiostri e
componenti innovativi. Scelti sulla spinta delle richieste del mercato, questi inchiostri sono spesso fonte di complicazioni in macchina. ME.RO,
specializzata nella fabbricazione di generatori per
il trattamento corona, è in
grado di realizzare installazioni di ogni dimensione
con performance che raggiungono i 10 m di larghezza e oltre 600
m/min di velocità. Proprio pensando alle
esigenze dei converter, l’azienda toscana (sede
a Ponte a Moriano, LU) ha messo a punto un sistema di trattamento per film plastici e metallizzati, destinato alle macchine da stampa (flexo e roto)
e accoppiatici. Il sistema garantisce ottimi risultati in termini di ancoraggio su qualsiasi tipo di supporto fino a velocità di 600 m/min.
CONTROLLO DEL PUNTO - CO.FO.ME.GRA.
(MI) propone DFP406, strumento per il controllo delle percentuali di punto sulle lastre
CtP e offset convenzionali. Dato interessante, non si tratta nè di un densitometro nè di
un sistema con telecamera CCD, ma di un
dispositivo di misura in riflessione con risoluzione estremamente elevata. Il DFP406
suddivide in 10.000 punti il basso contrasto
delle lastre offset, eseguendo inoltre una misura lineare e non logaritmica come i densitometri. È dunque possibile quantificare le
percentuali di punto positive e negative sulle lastre offset e sulla carta, la densità su
lastra e carta e le percentuali di retino sul film
visualizzando il confronto film lastra.
Automazione “flessibile” per robot
ISPEZIONE OTTICA - I prodotti della
gamma Surface Inspector di Isra Vision
AG (filiale italiana a Rovereto, TN) soddisfano ogni esigenza nell’ispezione ottica delle superfici, indipendentemente dalla velocità dell’operazione, dallo
spazio a disposizione, dal colore e dalla risoluzione di stampa del materiale
in esame. Le soluzioni Isra, in visione al
prossimo ICE (Monaco, 27-29/3), permettono di individuare difetti su film, carta, plastica, supporti colorati o stampati
in processi come stampa e verniciatura,
accoppiamento, fustellatura e punzonatura, taglio e avvolgimento.
■ Automation Group Srl (robotica e automazione per i settori grafica, tissue e cartone ondulato) ha creato un palettizzatore completamente automatico, che offre importanti
vantaggi: gli impianti sono composti da elementi modulari,
pensati per risolvere le svariate esigenze dei clienti, la velocità di produzione raggiunge le 23.500 scatole/h e la manutenzione è estremamente ridotta. I palettizzatori PAL 2000
e PAL 2005, completamente automatici, sono costituiti da
un robot antropomorfo di Fanuc a 4 assi. Il quinto asse, la “pinza”, è stato implementato utilizzando soluzioni fornite da Control Techniques (Rozzano, MI): motore brushless Unimotor 95UMB300/115UMC300
e azionamento Unidrive SP 1402. Gestendo la pinza con i prodotti Control Techniques è stato possibile ottimizzare i costi. Grazie infatti alla flessibilità della SM Applications, scheda che permette la gestione della pinza con un software standard e semplice da utilizzare, si raggiungono velocità record
(250 mm/s). Per le rulliere (utilizzate per la centratura del pacco, la creazione e l’elevazione automatica della pila) viene invece impiegato il Commander SK, inverter di nuova generazione dalle dimensioni molto compatte che, grazie alla sua funzione vettoriale, garantisce elevate prestazioni alle differenti velocità di lavoro. La collaborazione tra le due aziende dura da diversi anni. Automation Group
(Oleggio, NO) vanta infatti numerose installazioni in Europa e Nord America e Control Techniques può,
dal canto suo, assicurare un intervento tempestivo e offrire un servizio di assistenza in tutto il mondo.

commonest of flexible materials.
This phenomenon is due to the
growing speed of the print and
bonding machines, but aboveall to
the usage of inks and other
innovatory components, that are
demanded by the market but entail
some complications in the
machines. ME.RO covers a key
position in the manufacturing of
generators for corona treatment
and is capable of creating
installations of all sizes, with
performances that reach 10 m wide
and 600 m/min in speed. To suit
converters’ needs, the Tuscan
company (headquarter in Ponte a
Moriano, LU) has developed a
system for treating plastic and
metalized films, destined for print
(flexo and roto) and bonding
machines. The system guarantees
excellent results in terms of
anchorage on any type of backing
up to speeds of 600 m/min.
CO.FO.ME.GRA. (MI) offers
DFP406, a tool for dot percentage
control on conventional CtP and
offset plates. Interestingly this is
not a densitometer nor a CCD
camera system, but an extremely
high resolution reflection
measuring device. The DFP406
breaks the low contrast of offset
plates into 10,000 dots, what is
more carrying out a linear and not
a logarithmic measurement (as with
densitometers). Hence the positive
and negative dot percentage can
be quantified on the offset plate
and on paper, as well as the plate
and paper density and the screen
percentage on the film, this by
viewing the film plate comparison.
Optical inspection
The products of the Isra Vision AG
Surface Inspector range (Italian
branch at Rovereto, TN) satisfy all
optical surface inspection needs,
never mind the speed of the
operation, the space available, the
color and the print resolution of the
materials being examined. The Isra
solution, that can be seen at the
coming ICE (Munich 27-29/3),
enables the identification of defects
on films, paper, plastic, colored or
printed substrates in processes like
print and lacquering, laminating,
die-cutting and stamping, cutting
and wrapping.
“Flexible” automation for robots
Automation Group Srl (robotics and
automation for the graphics, tissue
and corrugated cardboard sector)
has created a completely
automatic palletizer that offers
important advantages: the systems
are made up of modular elements,
devised to solve the various needs
of the clientele, production speed
can reach 23,500 boxes/h and
maintenance is very limited.
The PAL 2000 and PAL 2005
palletizers, completely automatic,
are made up of a 4 axes Fanuc
anthropomorphic robot. The fifth
axis, the “gripper”, has been
implemented using solutions
provided by Control Techniques
(Rozzano, MI): brushless Unimotor
95UMB300/115UMC300 and
Unidrive SP 1402.
Managing the gripper with Control
Techniques products has enabled
cost optimisation. Thanks in fact to
the flexibility of the SM
Applications, a card that enables
gripper handling, with a standard
and userfriendly software, record
speeds can be achieved (250
mm/s). For rollers (used for
centring the pack, the creation and
raising of the stack) the
Commander SK is used, a new
compact generation converter that,
thanks to its vectorial function,
guarantees high performance at
different workspeeds.
The cooperation between the two
concerns has gone on for several
years. Automation Group (Oleggio,
NO) can in fact boast various
installations in Europe and North
America and Control Techniques,
for its part, ensures timely
intervention and offers an
assistance service the whole world
around.

Reel control
Surfscan Technologies Ltd (Cardiff, UK) presents
Checkpress, real time system for revealing roll flaws.
Thanks to the stabilised illumination and the linescan
digital camera, the device is capable of revealing
any imperfection on reels and rolls of any thickness.
The size of the flaws to be detected can be set from
the touchscreen, thus eliminating any “false flaws”.
The system, that on the basis of the camera
resolution can reach speeds of from 60 to 450 m/min,
works with Windows NT systems and is lodged in a
double processor PC that incorporates software and
graphic processing cards.
Unwinding and rewinding
LEXUS
Butler Automatic’s automatic unwinders are used to
unwind and splice mono and multilayer rolls of any
material (paper, non-woven fabric, film, aluminium...)
without having to stop production. Integrated with
VFFS and HFFS packaging machines, end-of-line
equipment, sealing machines and sleeve labeling
systems, Butler’s devices allow for an immediate 520% increase in output, depending on the
application. Recent solutions by the American
concern (with an European base at Acacias, CH)
include the automatic sleeve unwinder, created in
cooperation with Sleever International and featuring a
film-guide system and special splicing head, a zip
unwinder, heatsealing head for 1676 mm roll-fed film
and a model for 2000 mm roll-fed film and nonwoven fabric. Advanced functions include a twin
bottom-loading option to allow for the rolls to be
picked up close to the ground. Then, when it comes
to rewinding, Butler’s latest offers include an adapted
speed splicing turret system and an automatic
unwinder/rewinder with cantilevered loading.
CONTROLLO DELLE BOBINE - Surfscan Technologies Ltd (Cardiff, UK) presenta Checkpress, sistema per il rilevamento dei difetti sulle bobine in tempo reale. Grazie all’illuminazione stabilizzata e alla fotocamera digitale linescan, il dispositivo è in grado di
rilevare eventuali imperfezioni su bobine di qualsiasi spessore. Le dimensioni del difetto da individuare possono essere determinate dal touch screen, eliminando così i
“falsi errori”. Il sistema, che in base alla risoluzione delle fotocamere può toccare velocità da 60 a 450 m/min, opera con sistemi Windows NT ed è alloggiato in un PC a
doppio processore che incorpora software e schede di elaborazione grafica.
Svolgimento e riavvolgimento
■ Gli svolgitori automatici di Butler Automatic consentono di svolgere e
giuntare bobine di vari materiali mono e multistrato (carta, tessuto non tessuto, pellicole, alluminio...) senza fermi di produzione. Integrati a macchine confezionatrici VFFS e HFFS, ad apparecchiature a fine linea, a saldatrici e a sistemi per l’etichettatura sleeve, i dispositivi Butler permettono
un incremento immediato della produttività del 5-20% a seconda dell’applicazione. Tra le ultime soluzioni dell’azienda americana (con sede europea ad Acacias, CH) ricordiamo lo svolgitore automatico per sleeve,
realizzato in collaborazione con Sleever International e caratterizzato dalla presenza di un sistema guida-film e di una testa di giunta ad hoc; lo svolgitore zip; il
modello con testa per termosaldatura per bobine di film di larghezza pari a 1676 mm e quello per film e tessuto non tessuto in bobine con larghezza 2000 mm. Le funzioni avanzate
includono un’opzione di doppio caricamento in basso, per consentire il prelevamento
delle bobine vicino al pavimento. Per quanto riguarda le soluzioni di riavvolgimento, le ultime proposte di Butler comprendono invece un riavvolgitore con torretta di giunta a velocità adattata e uno svolgitore-avvolgitore automatico con sistema di caricamento a sbalzo.
