Parents and Students
Liceo Montanari announces an “OPEN DAY” for third-year middle school
students from Wednesday December 16 to Saturday January 16, 2010.
Teachers will be present to illustrate the two scholastic programmes
planned by the new school reform: the LICEO delle SCIENZE UMANE, (High
School of Human Sciences, which offers humanistic subjects with 5 years of
Latin and two foreign languages), and the LICEO delle SCIENZE UMANE
opzione ECONOMICO-SOCIALE (Human Sciences with a focus on Economics
and Social Science with 5 years of two foreign languages, law and
economics).
The “OPEN DAY” will be held at the Stimate Theatre in Via Montanari,
Verona, with the following schedule:

The curriculum offered by the High School of Human
Sciences prepares students to enter all university faculties
especially
those
related
to
social
sciences
and
communication. The programme of study offers a general
humanistic culture with specific focus on human and social
sciences including also university preparatory subjects in
science.

High School of Human Sciences
with Socio- Economic option
Music High School
The High School of Human Sciences with a Socio- Economic
option prepares students for all university faculties but in
particular sociology. The core curriculum includes social
sciences with five years of two European foreign languages,
law and economy.
The absolute novelty is the five-year Music High School
which takes the place of the current Social Science High
School with a music section. The Music High School offers
music subjects as its core curriculum with 14 hours weekly
in the first two years and 13 hours in the last three years.
The Music High School offers only one foreign language, no
Latin or Human Sciences, the minor subjects are otherwise
the same as the High School of Human Sciences.

ENROLLMENT OF FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
NOTICE FOR PARENTS
With the next scholastic year the new school reform should go
into effect
for all High Schools and Professional-Technical
Secondary schools. The Montanari High School, which currently
offers two sections, Socio-Psycho-Pedagogical and Social
Sciences, will become a High School of Human Sciences and
Human Sciences with a Socio-Economic option, both being a
five-year programme.
IMPORTANT
Should the reform not pass, it is understood that students
enrolled in the first year will follow the curriculum of one of the
current three sections:

•
SOCIAL SCIENCES with a MUSIC SECTION
