Fra luglio e agosto, nel maestoso Sferisterio di Macerata, va in
scena il Festival d’opera più suggestivo d’Italia. Non perdere
l’occasione di assistere alla stagione lirica che ha ospitato i
più grandi: Bruson, Carreras, Domingo, Pavarotti, Ricciarelli,
Corelli, Del Monaco e Kabaivanska.
Between July and August, the most fascinating opera festival in
Italy will take place in the majestic Sferisterio of Macerata.
Do not miss the chance to enjoy the opera season which
hosted the most famous singers in the world, such as Bruson,

The Mediterranean turns into an opera character.
In Otello it is a stormy sea, the depth of anxiety weaved through
the overall tragedy, a backdrop to the crimes of passion evoked
in the most paradigmatic of all jealousy dramas.
The Mediterranean is the cradle of the composer of Norma,
whose music recounts the huge distance between human misery
and the luminous, cloudless sky. The moon is the “Casta Diva”
shining over earthly tragedies.
In Trovatore, the Mediterranean marks the boundaries of the
arduous coexistence between gipsies and the Aragonese
medieval rulers.
The Mediterranean we portray this year is a crossroads of
cultures and ties amongst its many lands and shores. It is the site
of encounters and clashes of values and archetypes.

Il Mediterraneo si fa personaggio operistico.
In Otello è mare in tempesta, abisso dell’inquietudine che
regna sovrana sullo sfondo della tragedia, scenario di delitti
passionali nel “dramma della gelosia” per antonomasia.
Il Mediterraneo è culla del compositore che ha generato, con
Norma, una musica capace di raccontarci la distanza sconfinata
tra i tormenti umani e la serenità del cielo: la luna, “Casta diva”,
assiste allo spettacolo della tragedia terrena.
In Trovatore il Mediterraneo è il perimetro che circoscrive la
difficile convivenza tra zingari e potere medievale aragonese.
Il Mediterraneo che rappresentiamo è crocevia di culture e di
legami che intrecciano le diverse sponde, è luogo d’incontro e
di scontro tra valori e archetipi.
