THE CHAMPIONSHIP HEADS TO THE LAST EVENT
FROM PORTIMAO. The drivers of the European CIK-FIA
Championship had to cope with lots of difficult weather
situations and now, after the fourth event of the season

only the last round of Genk - scheduled at the last
weekend of July - in front of them. Teams and drivers
had to deal with all kinds of weather all around Europe
and, after leaving the Atlantic seaside of Portugal, they
are now heading towards Belgium. Last Sunday the
races was characterised by many changes in the OK
and OK Junior standings. For the Championship’s last
round the two categories will be joined by the KZ and

KZ2: an upcoming big show which will be explained by
Motors TV in its special report from Portimao. The

schedule is starting next week, from 4th July.
JOYNER TAKES OVER LEADERSHIP FROM BASZ IN
THE OK. The English Tom Joyner (Zanardi-ParillaVega) achieved a great result: thanks to his well
deserved victory in Portimao, where he kept at bay his
fellow countryman Ben Hanley (Croc-TM), Joyner
conquered the top of the standings ahead of the
previous leader, the Karol Basz (Kosmic-Vortex). The
Polish driver managed to recover many positions after a
troublesome start in the Final, but it was not enough
and he is now five points behind Joyner, first with 108
points. The race of Portimao said that the two
Spaniards, Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG-Parilla) and Marta
Garcia (EvoKart-Parilla) – respectively third 13 points
behind and fourth with a gap of 24 – still have good
chances in the Championship. Another possible winner
is the American Logan Sargeant (FA Kart-Vortex): he is
fifth, 29 points behind the leader. He got stuck in the
Portuguese Final, but he can still aim at a great result.
WATT INSEGUITO DA COLLET IN OK JUNIOR.
WATT PURSUED BY COLLET IN THE OK JUNIOR.
He had a hard time in Portimao, but the Brazilian Caio
Collet (BirelArt-Parilla-Vega), however, managed to
score an excellent second place in the Final, behind the
winner Victor Martins (Kosmic-Parilla). This result
allowed Collet to remain close to the leader Noah Watt
ORTONA - ITA
(Tony Kart-Vortex). The Danish, on the contrary, had a
good start but did not manage to score a podium
position. Watt keeps the leadership with 107 points,
while Collet is now in close pursuit (16 points behind).
The other pursuers will need to wait until Genk to try to
close the gap: Isac Blomqvist (Tony Kart-Vortex) and
Finlay Kenneally (FA Kart-Vortex), third and fourth, did
not score many points. The Norwegian Dennis Hauger
(CRG-Parilla) and the Malaysian Abdul Muizzuddin
(DR-TM) gain positions and follow in the standings
thanks to the fourth and third place scored in Portugal.
They are 26 and 34 points behind respectively.
BRADSHAW PULLS AWAY IN THE ACADEMY TROPHY.
The English Callum Bradshaw came in second in
Portimao, behind the Belgian Xavier Handsaeme, the
surprising winner. Bradshaw’s leadership is steadier
and he is now 29 points ahead of Handsaeme. Behind
them, the Danish Mads Hansen, the British Oliver
Clarke and the Swedish Alfred Nilsson. For them (all on

Exprit-Vortex) the final round is in Sweden on 4
September, with the KZ World Champs in Kristianstad.

JOYNER SPODESTA BASZ AL COMANDO DELLA OK.
È stato un colpo importante quello messo a segno
dall’inglese Tom Joyner (Zanardi-Parilla-Vega), che con
la meritata vittoria di Portimao, inattaccabile dal
connazionale Ben Hanley (Croc-TM), raggiunge un
risultato che potrebbe rivelarsi fondamentale in
classifica, scavalcando il precedente leader Karol Basz
(Kosmic-Vortex). Il polacco ha rimontato dopo una
partenza sfortunata in Finale, ma non è bastato: il
nuovo ranking lo vede scendere per 5 punti alle spalle
di Joyner, che sale a 108. Le gare di Portimao hanno
fatto salire le quotazioni dei due spagnoli Pedro Pedro
Hiltbrand (CRG-Parilla) e Marta Garcia (EvoKartParilla), rispettivamente terzo a 13 punti e quarta a 24.
La competitività mostrata da entrambi li lancia nella
rosa dei favoriti per il titolo, che include anche Logan
Sargeant (FA Kart-Vortex). L’americano, quinto a 29
punti, è rimasto fermo nella Finale portoghese ma può
ancora dire la sua, in una classifica molto aperta.
WATT INSEGUITO DA COLLET IN OK JUNIOR.
Nel suo difficile weekend di Portimao il brasiliano Caio
Collet (BirelArt-Parilla-Vega) ha ritrovato solo in Finale,
con il secondo posto raggiunto alle spalle del vincitore
Victor Martins (Kosmic-Parilla), la competitività utile a
mantenere il contatto con il leader Noah Watt (Tony

Kart-Vortex). Il danese, al contrario, ha iniziato bene ma
non è riuscito ad avvicinarsi al podio. Watt resta al
comando della classifica con 107 punti mentre Collet gli
si avvicina, staccato di 16. Tutto rimandato a Genk per
gli inseguitori: Isac Blomqvist (Tony Kart-Vortex) e
Finlay Kenneally (FA Kart-Vortex), terzo e quarto, sono
rimasti lontano da punti importanti. Il norvegese Dennis
Hauger (CRG-Parilla) e il malese Abdul Muizzuddin
(DR-TM) seguono in classifica, nella quale avanzano
dopo il quarto e il terzo posto che hanno centrato
rispettivamente in Portogallo. Entrambi sono impegnati
a recuperare il distacco di 26 e 34 punti da Watt.
BRADSHAW, LEADER IN FUGA IN ACADEMY TROPHY.
L’inglese Callum Bradshaw ha seguito sul traguardo di
Portimao il belga Xavier Handsaeme, sorprendente
vincitore in Portogallo. Il secondo posto serve a
Bradshaw per consolidare la sua leadership, che
mantiene con 29 punti di vantaggio su Handsaeme.
Seguono il danese Mads Hansen, il britannico Oliver
Clarke e lo svedese Alfred Nilsson. Per loro (tutti su
Exprit-Vortex) l’appuntamento finale è per il 4 settembre
in Svezia, con il Mondiale KZ a Kristianstad.
