ALEXANDER E MATTEO BAGNAI

Nel 2005 Alexander e Matteo Bagnai iniziano
un percorso fra imprenditorialità e inventiva,
dedicato alla casa e ai suoi elementi.
Si avvicinano al mondo del design imparando
sul campo le prime regole, per poi crescere
man mano e maturare un proprio percorso
di formazione artistica. La passione per la
creatività si esprime sin da subito con l’ideazione
di una serie di complementi e la prima produzione è una linea di specchi, realizzata con
un mix fra materiali semplici e lavorazioni
preziose, come il mosaico.
Il risultato è un’alchimia suggestiva che
caratterizza oggetti unici. In un’ottica di
apertura mentale - ma anche imprenditoriale
- Matteo e Alexander decidono successivamente
di coinvolgere altri artisti nell’ideazione di
complementi, quadri, carte da parati e
ceramiche. Questo per ampliare il concept di
prodotto, così da assecondare un mercato
internazionale sempre più esigente e selettivo
che costantemente richiede emozioni, ma
al tempo stesso è attento alla qualità di tutto il
percorso creativo: dall’idea alla produzione,
dalla comunicazione alla commercializzazione.
In 2005, Alexander and Matteo Bagnai began a
journey between business and creativity, dedicated
to houses and their elements. They approached
the world of design by learning its rules directly
on the field, to a consequent growth that led
to ripen a personal artistic path. The passion
towards creativity emerges since the very beginning with the conception of a series of accessories and the first production concerns a line of
mirrors, realized with a mixture of simple basic
materials and precise handwork such as mosaic.
The result is a sort of evocative alchemy that
permeates these unique objects.
With an open minded spirit - but also a business
one - Matteo and Alexander later decide to
engage other artists in the creation of accessories, paintings, wallpapers and ceramic tiles.
This to enlarge the concept of their products,
so to indulge in an international market that
is more and more demanding and selective,
constantly asking for more emotions, but also pays
a particular attention to the quality of the whole
creative process: from the idea to its production,
from communication to sales.

GIULIO IURISSEVICH
Italy
Illustratore, grafico specializzato in fashion,
lifestyle, beauty. è anche artista urbano. Giulio
si concentra sulla figura umana e soprattutto
sulle lievi sfumature di espressione in ritratti
di volti femminili. Le sue eroine sono fragili
e sensibili e la bellezza delle sue immagini
non sta nella precisione dell’esecuzione, ma
nell’espressione delle emozioni.
Illustrator, graphic and urban artist since 1998.
Based on - and inspired by - the tradition of
figurative art, Giulio Iurissevich focuses on the
human figure and especially on the slight nuances
of expression in the portraiture of girls faces.
Sensitive and fragile Giulio Iurissevich‘s heroines
seem vulnerable and troubled, yet intensely
sensual.
DALEK

James Marshall, meglio conosciuto come
Dalek, è un pittore Americano conosciuto
principalmente per essere il creatore del
personaggio della Space Monkey.
è conosciuto anche per le sue fotografie, murales e illustrazioni.
L’artista ha trovato la sua voce e la sua identità nella subcultura dei graffiti, del punk
rock e dello skateboarding. Disegnata per
la prima volta su un muro del Connecticut
nel 1995, la Space Monkey che è diventata
sinonimo del nome Dalek, è cresciuta e si è
evoluta dall’amore di Marshall per la cultura
pop giapponese, la “vibrazione” derivante
dalla scena punk, dalla street art e dai cartoon.
Marshall spiega che la Space Monkey non
è affatto una scimmia, ma un topo - il suo
concetto di essere umano perso in un mare
crescente di tecnologia e comodità. La Space
Monkey diventa l’alter ego di Dalek, un mezzo
attraverso il quale esprime le sue emozioni,
idee e preoccupazioni.
Marshall continua ad esplorare la dinamica
del tira e molla tra forze opposte - lo spazio
tra rigidità e fluidità. C’è un’abbondanza di
lampi di colori e piani multipli, sotterranei
e quasi impercepibili momenti che lavorano
in armonia per definire spazio e movimento.
James Marshall, better known as Dalek, is an
American painter best known for his Space Monkey
character. He is also known for his photography,
murals and illustrations.
The artist found his voice and identity in the
subcultures of graffiti, punk rock and skateboarding. First rendered on a wall in Connecticut
in 1995, the Space Monkey that has become
synonymous with his name grew and evolved
from Marshall’s love for Japanese pop culture,
the “vibe” of the punk scene, street art and cartoons.
Marshall maintains that the Space Monkey is not
a monkey at all, but a mouse—his concept of a
human being lost in a growing sea of technology
and convenience. Space Monkey became Dalek’s
alter ego, a medium through which he expressed his emotions, ideas and concerns.
Marshall continues to explore the push and pull
dynamics of opposing forces—the space between
rigidity and fluidity. There is an abundance of
flashing colours and multiple planes, subtle and
almost unperceived moments working in harmony
to define space and movement.

Marco Grassi è nato a Milano nel 1966.
Artista di livello mondiale, vive e lavora a
Mariano Comense, Como.
“La cultura pittorica di Marco Grassi si è
sempre mossa nell’alveo di una tradizione
figurativa che lui ha orientato e rivolto, con
risolutezza e determinazione, all’ambito –
non facile – del ritratto. Protagonista delle
sue tele o delle sue carte sono le persone o,
in generale, l’uomo. In queste predomina, su
tutti gli altri soggetti, principalmente la bellezza
eterea e sfuggente, delicata e perfetta di giovani
donne.”
Marco Grassi was born in Milan in 1966. He’s a
world class Artist. He lives and works in Mariano
Comense, Como.
“The pictorial culture of Marco Grassi has always
been that of the figurative tradition that he has
plotted and addressed with resolution and
determination in the notably difficult area of
portraiture. The characters in his canvasses and
works on paper are persons, or humankind in
general. Of the subjects of the portraiture, what
predominates is the ethereal and fleeting and
the delicate and perfect beauty of young women.”

Honet aveva 15 anni quando scoprì e si
innamorò dei graffiti e ben presto divenne
un punto di riferimento nella scena parigina
prima di divenire riconosciuto a livello mondiale
per il suo approccio eccentrico.
E’ dopo qualche tempo che passa dalla
bomboletta al pennello e passa dai muri
della città alle gallerie.
Il suo lavoro è profondamente ispirato dalla
sua vita in costante movimento insieme alla
sua romantica esplorazione del mondo –
dall’Europa all’Asia. Il suo tratto inconfondibile così come le sue composizioni grafiche
attira marchi di lusso tanto quanto la street
fashion e le istituzioni globali.
Honet was 15 when he discovered and fell in
love with graffiti and quickly became a reference
in the Parisian scene before gaining worldwide
recognition for his leftfield approach. It is later
on that he add a brush on top of his can of spray-paint
and moved from city walls to galleries. His work
is deeply inspired by his life in constant movement
together with his romantic exploration of the
world - from Europe to Asia. His unmistakable
sharp lines and graphic compositions appeal
just as much to luxury brands, street fashion and
global institutions.
GWER
Netherlands
Rutger Paulusse (Gwer) è un illustratore che
si focalizza principalmente su design web
e stampabili, giocando con forme grafiche,
forti colori, dimensioni e spazialità.
Iniziò tutto in giovane età con i graffiti. Il
giovane Gwer realizzò immediatamente il
potere che una bomboletta, un pennello o
una penna potessero sprigionare. L’ossessione
per i graffiti si manifestò rapidamente in una
transizione naturale verso la calligrafia.
Dopo essersi laureato alla St.Joost Art School,
ha realizzato che lo stile e la creatività sono
più importanti nel mestiere di designer di
tutto quello che aveva imparato in classe. Si
trasferisce quindi a New York, per assaporare
come davvero funziona il mondo del design.
Ha lavorato per la rinomata agenzia Vault49,
dove ha migliorato le sue capacità di
illustrazione e grafica. Dopo aver accresciuto
la propria esperienza a New York, ha sentito di
dover riportare il suo stile di nuovo in Olanda.
Negli ultimi anni è stato abbastanza fortunato
da espandere rapidamente il proprio portfolio con
clienti come: KLM, LG, Nuon, Ford, Flexa,
Citroën, KPN, Tommy Hilfiger, Spinawards e
ADCN per citarne alcuni.
Rutger Paulusse (Gwer) is an illustrator focusing
on designs for online and print, playing around
with graphic shapes, bold colours, dimensions
and space. It all started back in the day with the
graffiti wall. A youth who realized the creative
power that a spray can, paint brush or pen could
hold. This obsession with graffiti quickly manifested
itself into a natural transition to Typography. After graduation at the St. Joost Art School he
quickly realized that personal style and creativity
were more important to a designer’s work than
anything he learned in the classroom. He then
moves to NYC to get a taste of how the real design
world operates. He worked for the highly regarded
Vault49 agency where he got his groove on
improving his illustration and CGI skills. When
he had broadened his skills in NYC and knew he
had to bring his funky style back to the homies.
In recent years he’s been lucky enough to rapidly
expand his portfolio counting in his clients:
KLM, ING, Nuon, Ford, Flexa, Citroën, KPN,
Tommy Hilfiger, Spinawards and ADCN to name

DARREN HOPES
UK
Dopo aver conseguito un Bachelor’s Degree
in Design e Fotografia con Orificenza, Darren
ha lavorato con illustrazioni e produzioni
artistiche per gli ultimi 18 anni. Ha prodotto
lavori per centinaia di clienti, incluso il logo
per le Olimpiadi Londinesi, un libro per la
Folio Society e pubblicità per conto di BMW,
il Mayfair Hotel di Londra e il Southbank
Centre per citarne alcuni. Ha creato molte
copertine di libri per clienti internazionali e
attualmente si concentra sull’editoria, musica e
pubblicazioni.
Nel 2002 è stato nominato finalista per il
premio di Fotografo Erotico dell’Anno con la
sua serie Spiral Studio. Ha una passione per
le complessità della natura ed è interessato nella
nostra convivenza con essa. Il suo lavoro è
stato descritto come emozionante, surreale
e lievemente dark.
“L’ineffabile intersezione con il fisico, lo
scientifico che perfora l’impossibile; il classico
che trasmuta per la modernità” è una delle
recenti recensioni dei suoi lavori.
After graduating with a 1st in BA (Hons) in Design
Photography Darren has worked in illustration
and art for the last 18 years. He has produced art
for hundreds of clients including a stamp for the
London olympics, a book for the Folio Society,
Advertising for BMW, The Mayfair Hotel London
and Southbank Centre amongst many others.
He has created many book covers for international
clients and currently concentrates his illustration on
editorial, music and publishing.
In 2002 he was shortlisted as a finalist for erotic
photographer of the year for his Spiral Studio
series. He has a passion for the complexities of
nature and is interested in our place in it. His
work has been described as emotional, surreal and
slightly dark. ‘The ineffable intersecting with the
physical; the scientific smashing through the
impossible; the classic mutating for the modern
age” was one recent review of his work.
