From zero to 26,2 millions in 43,800 hours.
The crisis in the automotive world was an opportunity
to sort the good professional skills from the bad
and to validate the work of a stable team like ours.
The people who gave life to TORINO DESIGN still form
the backbone of the company today: a core team that
has developed and been enriched by new resources
and skills - always in the name of excellence.

Five years ago I established TORINO DESIGN aware
that the automotive consultancy world was going
through a transition and conscious that it was the right
moment to find new solutions to new demands.
Not only did that change arrive, but it completely
swept away traditional rules and was more radical
and rapid than anyone could imagine.
Turin’s automotive design system is today completely
different to what it was just five years ago; and the
same can be said of the whole automotive industry.

There is one thing that I am particularly pleased
about: that our focus on quality and expert teamwork
has given us a reputation to be proud of.
We have developed car and industrial vehicle
projects for renowned OEMs worldwide, providing a
full range of services covering styling, CAS modelling,
feasibility engineering and full-scale model building.
The numbers demonstrate that our vast experience
and a new approach are a winning combination.
And now, five years on, we can boast of over
100 exterior and interior design projects for production
cars, 6 show cars and two complete ranges
of industrial vehicles (fully modular and varying
between 7.5 and 49 tons) developed for Chinese
and Indian OEMs.
Our initial philosophy - focusing on quality over
quantity - still guides us today and is even more
relevant in a business and economic environment
where any wastage is to be avoided.
All activities requiring a high degree of know-how are
carried out “in-house”, as a guarantee of quality and
utmost confidentiality. Particular attention is given to
those activities that are strategic to high quality
design, which thrives not only on creativity during the
rendering phase but depends also on skilled CAS 3D
modelling together with expert vehicle architecture
and feasibility engineering to meet the high levels of
quality required by the world’s carmakers.
This is why we promote and support a Master’s
Degree in 3D Alias modelling at the Polytechnic
University of Turin - because it is only by training
tomorrow’s resources that we can stay competitive.

These five years have flown by so rapidly that we can
still feel the adrenalin and the enthusiasm of the early
start-up days. Only when we see that our designs
have come to life and are on the road do we realise
that time has indeed passed.
But it is just a fleeting moment - there are other projects
waiting on the table and it is our mission to continue.
Drawing conclusions after five years also means
expressing our gratitude to all those who trusted in us,
encouraged us and who continue to believe in our work.
But we would like also to thank those who tried
to discredit us, because it is also thanks to them that
we are still here.

un servizio completo di stile, modellazione Cas,
ingegneria e modelli di stile in scala 1:1 e i numeri
dimostrano un immediato riconoscimento della nostra
esperienza passata a dispetto del proporsi in una
veste nuova.
Ora, dopo cinque anni, possiamo vantare un totale
di oltre 100 progetti di esterni ed interni per nuove
vetture di produzione, 6 Show Cars, 2 gamme complete
di veicoli industriali (con modularità da 7.5 a 49 tonnellate)
per Cina e India.
5 anni or sono fondavo Torino Design sulla
consapevolezza che il mondo della consulenza fosse
in una fase di trasformazione e che fosse il momento
di trovare nuove risposte a nuove domande.
Ed il cambiamento non solo è arrivato, ma ha sovvertito
gli schemi tradizionali ed è stato molto più violento
e veloce di quanto chiunque potesse prevedere.
La Torino del design di oggi è completamente diversa
da quella di soli cinque anni fa, come pure è diverso
lo scenario automobilistico mondiale.
Di una cosa sono contento: il puntare sulla qualità
e sulla serietà del gruppo di lavoro ci ha regalato
una reputazione di cui siamo orgogliosi.

basata sull'avventura più che sulla professionalità
e per confermare una nostra stabilità oggi invidiabile:
gli uomini che hanno dato vita a Torino Design sono
ancora la spina portante dell'azienda, una base
che si è via via sviluppata ed arricchita di nuove
risorse umane, ricercate ed annesse sempre nell’ottica
dell’eccellenza.

valida oggi in un momento storico in cui ogni spreco
deve essere eliminato.
Tutte le attività di elevato know-how sono sviluppate
con personale direttamente dipendente dall'azienda,
a garanzia di qualità e riservatezza.
Un'attenzione particolare è riservata allo sviluppo
di attività oggi strategiche per un design di alta qualità,
che necessita non solo di creatività nella fase
dei renderings, ma che solo attraverso il valore della
modellazione 3D e di un'ingegneria di impostazione
e fattibilità riesce ad esprimere l'alto livello oggi richiesto
da ogni Casa Automobilistica mondiale.

Per questo abbiamo promosso e supportiamo un Master
di laurea in modellazione 3D Alias presso il Politecnico
di Torino, perché solo preparando le risorse di domani
possiamo rimanere competitivi.
Questi cinque anni sono volati così rapidamente
che ancora viviamo l'entusiasmo e l'adrenalina dei primi
giorni di start up, poi vediamo i nostri progetti correre
sulle strade e ci accorgiamo del tempo andato.
Ma è solo un attimo, altri progetti sono lì sul tavolo
e la nostra missione deve continuare.
E fare il punto dopo cinque anni significa anche dire
grazie, a chi ci ha dato fiducia, coraggio e continua
a credere nel nostro lavoro, ma anche a chi si è inventato
un sacco di chiacchiere per screditarci, perché anche
grazie a costoro siamo ancora qui.
