ESG – Ensemble Sangineto
ESG – Ensemble Sangineto
The Ensemble Sangineto was created in 2000. The core of the group is formed by the two twins
Adriano and Caterina Sangineto. Having grown up in the artistic environment of their father,
Michele Sangineto, celtic harp and bowed psalteries maker, the twins have developed a natural flair
for ancient music, which they were exposed to in the early stages of their musical growth. They
later encountered popular music in all its polychromatic facets, with a special preference for the
Irish, Breton and French traditions. Thanks to their classical education and familiarity with modern
and pop music of various types, the group concentrates its focus on the fusion of ancient sonorities
and harmonies with modern rhythms.
In 2011 the twins began working with the guitarist and multitalented Tiziano Cogliati, who shares
the same intentions and artistic views of the twins and therefore fits harmonically into the already
consolidated and tight musical Duo of the Sangineto twins. The Trio is consequently relatively
young, but considering the professionalism of each member it turns out to be a musical group in
rapid evolution, multifaceted and versatile that amazes with its unusual arrangements and seductive
tones.
Each of the members of the Ensemble brings their own musical knowledge and influences from
various musical genres: jazz, classic, Gregorian chant, musical, pop and Celtic music. The musical
experimentation of the group is based on the use of nuances from all those genres on pieces from
the Irish, Scottish and Breton tradition and on original compositions. Fascinating combinations in
sparkling interpretations characterize the most exciting and contemporary group in the Italian
panorama of Celtic music. The refined mixture of harp and guitar, the arcane sound of the bowed
psaltery and the magic fusion of the three voices create a dreamlike atmosphere, wrapped in intense
purity.
Adriano Sangineto: graduated in clarinet from the "Giuseppe Verdi"
conservatory of Milan, and selftaught began the Celtic harp 10 years ago. In
2012 he created a solo performance, named “Arpa Creativa” [Creative Harp], in
which he shows the versatility of the instrument touching varied repertoires
(classic, Italian, Irish and original compositions) using 4 different harps. He
collaborates as harpist with musicians of great renowned, such as Carlos Nùñez.
In August 2012 he won fourth prize in the Celtic Harp Competition organized
in the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. Adriano is a talented multiinstrumentalist: who also plays with many musical groups using the bowed
psaltery, flutes, hurdy-gurdy, clarinet, percussion and bagpipe.

Caterina Sangineto: since she was a child she came in contact with music from
the middle ages and quickly became a bowed psaltery virtuoso. She studied
recorder and transverse flute at the Conservatory of Milan. She plays the flute
baroque and renaissance repertoire and sings the renaissance vocal English,
Italian and French repertoire. She took part in several vocal and instrumental
consorts of ancient music and also as a soloist has performed in video art
events, movie soundtracks and in many discographical projects, but with a
specialization in the Irish traditional repertoire. She performs also as a Celtic
harpist in some groups (Celtic Harp Orchestra; Ensemble Sangineto, Auranova)
and also collaborates with Carlos Nùñez.
Tiziano Cogliati: guitarist, pianist and chorus conductor, he collaborated with
many renowned singers, such as Anna Oxa, Laura Bono (winner of the junior

(Matia Bazar), Attilio Zanchi. Tiziano has performed in Switzerland (at the
Jazz Festival in Ascona), France, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Greece,
