i potrebbe pensare che proporre
un lavoro in radio ad una grazia riconosciuta come la più bella d’Italia sappia un po’ di dispetto, meno crudele
ma in scia a quello che fecero arcignamente le sorellastre e la matrigna a Cenerentola, nascondendo la sua bellezza in soffitta al
passaggio dell’incaricato del Principe.
E invece no.
Parlando con Cristina Chiabotto, Miss Italia
2004 anche se quest’etichetta ormai risulta
riduttiva per disegnarla, mi conferma che
l’esperienza di lavoro a Radio Kiss Kiss tutte
le mattine le calza a pennello ed è esattamente quello in cui si vuole esprimere ora,
molto riconoscente alla vita che le ha regalato un sogno.
Nessuna forzatura sulla sua positività, nessun
dubbio sull’energia che la trasporta insieme
alle sue parole.
Sta vivendo un’importante esperienza di
speaker radiofonica nel programma “Pronto chi parla?”. Cosa porta a casa di questa
esperienza, così diversa dalla televisione
che l’ha vista sbocciare?
“La radio è un contenitore senza filtro e il
nostro programma è in diretta. Ho un approccio più adrenalinico all’esperienza
quotidiana e di lavoro, una sensazione di
vero brivido. È tutto più immediato rispetto alla televisione: nessun depuratore di
contenuti, nessun muro che ti separa dagli
ascoltatori. Quello che amo molto è che la
radio ti permette di arrivare per quello che
sei davvero: non puoi mentire. È un contesto dove alla lunga si apprezza di più anche
la naturalezza e l’istinto ed è uno spazio sicuramente meno costruito. Molte persone
in televisione ti selezionano per la bellezza o
per un copione, la radio è semplicemente
un’altra cosa. Senza far polemica, perché
non è mia intenzione. Sono molto grata al
mondo della televisione e alle esperienze
che mi ha permesso di fare”.

e could think that giving a radio job to a beauty recognized as the Italian most beautiful girl might be a bit of a bad joke, less
cruel but on the same page as what grimly
did Cinderella’s stepsisters and stepmother,
hiding her beauty in the attic when the Prince’s delegate came by.
But no.
Talking with Cristina Chiabotto, Miss Italy
2004 even if this label is, by now, reductive
to draw her, she affirms that the work experience in Kiss Kiss Radio every morning
perfectly fits her and it is exactly where she
wants to express herself now, incredibly
thankful for the life that has given her a dream.
There is no forcing on her positivity, no
doubt on the energy that she carries together with her words.
You are living an important experience as
radio speaker in the program “Pronto chi
parla?”(“Hello, who’s talking?” ed). What
are you learning from this experience, so
different from the TV that saw you bloom?
“Radio is a container without any filter and
our show is live. I have a more hyper approach to the everyday work experience,
a thrilling feeling. Everything is more immediate compared to television: zero contents
purifier, no wall separating you from the
audience. What I really love about radio is
that it allows you to express what you really
are: you cannot lie. It is a context where,
on the long-term, you appreciate more the
simplicity and instinct and it is a less insincere space. A lot of people working on TV
choose you because of your beauty or because of a script, radio is simply something

Il programma lo conduce insieme a Joe
Violanti. Come si trova a lavorare al suo
fianco?
“Sono sempre stata una grande fan di Joe
Violanti. Quando andavo a scuola, lui e il
suo programma erano una compagnia importante: lo ascoltavo sempre. La proposta
di lavoro è arrivata proprio da lui, per cui
per me è stata tanto inaspettata quanto
davvero incredibile ed emozionante. Lavoriamo molto bene insieme e credo che si
senta questa bella sinergia. Abbiamo età
diverse che compensano: da una parte
la sua esperienza, dall’altra la mia spontaneità. In principio la sua idea era quella di
avere una partner femminile al fianco ogni
mese diversa, poi invece ci siamo trovati
bene ed eccoci qui: siamo diventati una
squadra”.
Effettivamente in radio non manca proprio
di percepirla questa sua naturalezza, che
quasi fa specie pensando di dover slegare
ad una Miss la sua missione di bellezza.
“Io non ho ansia di apparire. Sono una persona molto fortunata, non lo dimentico mai
e partecipo a tante occasioni dove l’immagine ha la sua importanza, certo. Ma ho
else. I don’t want to start a controversy, it’s
not my intention. I am very grateful to the
television world and to the experiences
that it allowed me to do”.
You host the program with Joe Violanti. How
do you feel about working with him?
“I have always been a big Joe Violanti’s
fan. When I went to school, he and his program were an important company: I used
to listen to it all the time. The work proposal came right from him, this is why for me it
was so unexpected as well as really incredible and exciting. We work very well together and I think that this beautiful synergy is
felt. We have different ages compensating
each other: on one side his experience, on
the other side my spontaneity. At the beginning his idea was to have a different
female host partner every month, but then
we enjoyed it and here we are: we are a
team”.
In fact on the radio we can really feel your
freshness, and it’s pretty odd thinking about
untying a Miss from her beauty mission.
“I have no anxiety of appearing. I am a
very lucky person, I don’t ever forget it and
I participate at a lot of situations in which

la fortuna di non aver mai dovuto fare le
cose per forza. Tutti i lavori televisivi importanti (Festivalbar, Ballando con le Stelle, Le
Iene, Scherzi a Parte, solo per citarne alcuni ndr) mi sono arrivati, non li ho cercati e
continuo a non cercare il modo per esserci
a tutti i costi. Sono anche convinta che le
cose non avvengano mai per caso; incontri quelli che hai sognato o vissuto in un’altra dimensione”.
Dà un’immagine di lei molto rassicurante e
serena. Mi sbaglio?
“Sto bene con me stessa e mi fa piacere
che questo mio aspetto venga fuori. Ho
uno spirito di grande apertura ed entusiasmo verso il mondo e sono una persona
curiosa”.
Ci racconta una sua giornata tipo?
“Sono presissima sin dalle prime ore del giorno. La mia sveglia suona alle cinque e trenta del mattino tutti i giorni dall’anno scorso.
Non è facile abituarsi ad un ritmo così impegnativo perché ti ribalta letteralmente lo
stile vita e il metabolismo. Inizio in radio alle
sette e finisco alle dieci. Ho impegni diversi,
come l’intervista di oggi e il servizio fotografico di ieri. Nel mio tempo libero c’è tanto in
tutto. Amo molto ascoltare musica, faccio
shopping, mangio nei fast food, mantengo le mie relazioni amicali e familiari a cui
tengo molto. Faccio cose molto normali.
Nelle mie cose mi accompagna sempre la
musica, anche dopo e nonostante le ore in
radio, perché la musica è colonna sonora
della mia vita”.
Cosa c’è nella sua playlist musicale?
“Ascolto tanta musica italiana leggera: da
Eros Ramazzotti a Tiziano Ferro come anche Jovanotti.
Amo molto ascoltare le novità discografiche, il mondo della radio anche in questo
devo dire che mi sta aiutando e completando tanto. Di internazionale non mancano mai Robbie Williams e Rihanna.
Anche nella mia sveglia ogni giorno c’è
musica. Non riesco ad immaginarmi uno
squillo anonimo che dia inizio alla mia giornata. E amo cambiare: ogni giorno mi sveglio con un brano diverso. Questa mattina
il mio risveglio è arrivato con un brano di
Zucchero”.
Cosa le piacerebbe fare?
“Mi piacerebbe scrivere un libro. Un racconto dove l’effetto sta in quello in cui riesco a dare. Potrei raccontare la mia storia
di ragazza semplice e del sogno che la vita
mi ha regalato, un destino speciale”.

am lucky enough to have never had to be
forced to do anything. All the important television works (Festivalbar, Dancing with the
Stars, Le Iene, Scherzi a Parte, just to name
a few ed) came to me, I didn’t search for
them and I keep on not trying to be there
at all costs. I am also convinced that things
never happen by chance; you meet who
you dreamed about or lived in another dimension”.
You have a very reassuring and serene
image. Am I wrong?
“I feel good with myself and I’m glad that
this side of me comes out. I have a spirit of
big openness and enthusiasm towards the
world and I’m a curious person”.
Can you tell us something about your typical day?
“I am very busy since the first hours of the
day. I wake up every morning at five-thirty
in the morning since last year. It’s not easy
to get used to such a demanding pace
because it literally overturn your lifestyle
and metabolism. I start the radio at seven
o’clock and I finish at ten a.m.. I have several appointments, like today’s interview and
yesterday’s photo-shoot. In my free time
there is a lot in everything. I love to listen
to music, to do some shopping, I eat in the
fast food, I take care of the relationship with
my friends and family, which are very important to me. I do very normal stuff. In my
things there is always music with me, even
after and in spite of all the hours in radio,
because music is the soundtrack of my life.
What’s in your playlist?
“I listen to a lot of Italian pop music: from
Eros Ramazzotti to Tiziano Ferro, but also Jovanotti. I really love to listen to new music
releases, and the radio world is helping me
and completing me a lot, I have to admit it.
Of international I always listen to Robbie Williams and Rihanna. Also in my alarm clock
there is music every day. I cannot imagine
an anonymous sound to start my day with.
And I love to change: every day I wake up
with a different track. This morning I woke
up to the sound of Zucchero”.
What would you like to do?
“I would like to write a book. A story where the effect is in what I am able to give.
I could tell my story of being a simple girl
and the dream that life gave me, a special
destiny”.
