La marca possiede importanti segni che ne hanno caratterizzato
lo stile inconfondibile e che fanno parte della nostra cultura.
Bulgari Bulgari è una delle nostre più rappresentative icone e, tra
le altre cose, quest’anno ha raggiunto l'età che Dante
descriverebbe come quella di mezzo della nostra vita. Dopo aver
aggiornato nel 2011 le collezioni femminili, quest'anno
ridisegniamo quelle maschili. E nello stesso tempo vogliamo
raccontare al mondo la storia della loro genesi, che a molti è
totalmente sconosciuta.
Is it correct thinking that the watch Roma is a sort of
return to the past?

La marque possède d’importants attributs qui ont définit le style
unique et représentatif de la marque; ils font partie de notre
culture. Bulgari Bulgari est notre icône la plus emblématique
et, entre autres choses, elle a atteint cette année l’âge que
Dante décrirait comme celui de la moitié de notre vie. Après le
renouveau des collections pour femmes en 2011, cette année
nous retravaillons les collections hommes. En même temps, nous
voulons raconter au monde l’histoire de leur genèse, pour

La serie limitata di 250 esemplari del modello Bulgari Roma è infatti un
tributo al progenitore della collezione BB ed è stata pensata per chi di
quest’ultima già ne possiede un modello. L'idea geniale che la famiglia
Bulgari ebbe nel creare il modello BB durante la metà degli anni ‘70 è tanto
semplice nella sua intuizione, quanto potente nel suo effetto.
Ce la potrebbe raccontare ?
Volentieri. Immaginiamo per un attimo i fratelli Bulgari - Gianni, Paolo e
Nicola - a capo di un’azienda con solo 5 boutique, ma nelle quali si potevano
ammirare gioielli sontuosi e che hanno accompagnato le dive più celebri
dell’epoca. Fieri, con un’irripetibile storia di successo ancora tutta da
scrivere, immersi nella cultura di Roma, amanti delle monete dell'antica
capitale al punto di farne una collezione di gioielleria: è proprio da lì che
nacque l'idea. Esattamente come usavano fare sul conio gli imperatori
dell'antica Roma, i fratelli Bulgari decisero di apporre il loro nome sulla
cassa di un semplice orologio rotondo destinato a quei generosi uomini che
accompagnavano le loro amate, realizzando il loro sogno di possedere un
gioiello Bulgari.
E oggi ?
La collezione è stata aggiornata secondo il gusto più attuale, ma nel pieno
rispetto dei codici stilistici: il logo leggermente ridotto e più vicino alla
dimensione iniziale, la cassa galbée di 41 millimetri di diametro e di 39
nella versione in oro, una nuova lunetta riportata che ne impreziosisce

Come va interpretata questa grande voglia di classicità che
sembra di cogliere nelle nuove collezioni d'orologeria Bulgari ?
Più che di classicità, parlerei d’identità. A voler ben guardare, non
c'è nulla di classico in Serpenti o in Octo. BB anche è un oggetto
di rottura, che col tempo si è conquistato un posto nella storia del
lusso, diventando un classico per noi, ma restando un orologio
non convenzionale. Tuttavia, la ricerca di un design
contemporaneo senza tempo, porta inevitabilmente verso un
maggior equilibrio fra i componenti dell'orologio, una maggiore
essenzialità, purezza del tratto.

new Bulgari watch collections?
Rather than classicism I would better talk about heritage. Taking
a closer look, there is nothing classic about Serpenti or Octo. BB is
also something completely new, that has earned a place in the
history of luxury over time, becoming a classic item in our
collections, but remaining a non-conventional watch However, the
search for a contemporary and timeless design, inevitably leads to
a greater balance between all the components, to a greater
simplicity and purity of the lines.
Comment interpréter ce grand désir de classicisme qui semble résider
dans les nouvelles collections de montres Bulgari?
Plus que de classicisme, je voudrais parler d’identité. Quand on regarde
de près, il n’y a rien de classique dans les lignes Serpenti ou Octo. BB
est également un objet en rupture qui, au fil du temps, s’est fait une
place dans l’histoire du luxe et qui est devenu un classique pour nous,
tout en restant une montre non conventionnelle. Cependant, la
recherche d’un design contemporain et intemporel, conduit
inévitablement vers un meilleur équilibre entre les composants d’une
montre, une plus grande simplicité et des lignes purs.
