È qui che il vetro viene elaborato e lavorato fino a prendere vita. Desidero lavorare con il vetro, non contro questo materiale. I want to work with the glass, not against it. In my designs, I try to follow along with the melt, with the sheer power of the glass, although I try at the same time to identify the simple and the subtle.” Anna Ehrner is experimental and stylistic in her expression. Her work is characterised by minimalistic yet powerful design language. Mattias ha ricevuto diversi premi nei campi del design, dell'interior design e dell'architettura. “As a designer, maybe I work with slightly more reduced forms and expression that we’re used to seeing at Kosta Boda. For me, it’s important instead to go back to my own initial impressions of Kosta Boda as an innovative, experimental company where they accept and even encourage experimentation and product development out “on the floor” in the studio.” Mattias Stenberg is originally trained as an engineer, architect and researcher in Sweden and in the US and holds a Licentiate degree in Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. L'idea dei vasi Septum nasce dal concetto di vivacità e di struttura all'interno delle pareti esterne del vetro. The outer shapes of the vases can be simple and smooth, but inside there is an irregularity and playfulness that makes every single vase a unique individual. It was this notion of a vibrancy and a “structure” within the outer walls of the glass that triggered the idea of the Septum vases. Il termine Septum significa in realtà parete divisoria, ossia la parete che divide atrio e ventricolo destro e sinistro del cuore. Come potevo creare una parte divisoria nel vetro, all'interno dei vasi? “Septum” actually means “dividing wall”, e.g. the dividing wall between the right and left atrium and ventricle in our heart. Could I somehow create a dividing wall in glass, inside the vases? La linea Septum include tre vasi differenti in misure diverse. I vasi sono perfetti da soli o in gruppo. Le sfumature sono naturali e in un certo senso ispirate ai vetri nordici degli anni '60 e '70. The Septum range consists of three different vases in different sizes. The vases work equally well on their own or in groups.
