FESTA DEL RENDENTORE una festa tradizionale che illumina il Bacino di San Marco.
La Festa della Sensa (Ascensione) rievoca un episodio storico del 9 maggio 1000, giorno in cui cadeva allora l’Ascensione: il Doge
La Festa del Redentore è tra le festività più sinceramente sentite dai veneziani, in cui convivono l’aspetto religioso e quello

con cui il Doge (oggi il sindaco di Venezia) si dirigeva verso il mare attraverso il canale di San Nicolò di Lido a bordo del Bucintoro,
le cupole e i campanili della città. La tradizione vuole che al tramonto le imbarcazioni, perfettamente addobbate con frasche e
mentre il vescovo di Venezia benediceva l’Adriatico e, raggiunta la bocca di porto, gettava in mare un anello d’oro a suggellare un
palloncini colorati e ben illuminate, comincino ad affluire nel Bacino di San Marco e nel Canale della Giudecca. In barca si consuma
simbolico sposalizio con il mare e a dimostrare il dominio della Serenissima sul golfo. Oggi la Sensa ha un programma che prevede
un’abbondante cena a base di piatti della tradizione veneziana in attesa dello spettacolo pirotecnico, che inizia alle ore 23.30 e
il coinvolgimento di molte altre città, che hanno avuto nella storia un particolare rapporto con Venezia, unite nel “Gemellaggio
